Aaaaah Dido....I actually had to check on youtube and I just realised that she has quite a lot of songs that are familiar to me, but also extremely annoying...I almost hate them so the less I hear them, the better. But I can see why you think Lauren could sing those songs well, I think she could. Perhaps they wouldn't be annoying me if they had her voice

Regarding that "mysterious" female singer, no luck so far. I have a part of the melody of the song in my head (I usually enjoyed it on the radio), Lauren's vocals could possibly be at her best there, especially if she made it her own and sang some notes a bit higher at parts.

Since she hasn't made an announcement before or on my birthday, I really hope it happens in May. That retweet about #signlaurenplatt she made last night kind of confirms (unless she is trolling) that she is still trying to get that contract. Perhaps labels had already offered her contracts, but they weren't good enough.

I've just listened to her version of King, I really like it, I like the fact that she's put her own spin on it.

And am I the only one finding it funny that her voice has a deeper pitch than the original?

It's just not expected to me considering she's a 17 year old girl taking on a male.

I honestly don't like the original (just listened to it for the first time). That guy can sing quite well I guess, but his voice is kind of annoying to me and that horrible music (that Lauren used at the start of the behind the scenes video) that appears in parts of the original King song and at the start of it makes it worse. I am so glad Lauren and Matt cut that music out of her version, best decision ever!

Her version is to my ears a lot better and I can't wait to hear the next cover and eventually in the future an original song.
