6" Screen Tablet (Kindle Fire)

I've preordered one of these mainly for web browsing and YouTube.

I anyway have a Nexus 5 phone which has about 4.5" useable screen.

Will I still get the benefits of the new kindle, or an I wasting my money?

Thanks

There doesn't seem to be much interest in this?

I'd say 6'' is not much for a tablet, phablets have 6'' screens. Personally I'd want at least 8'' from a tablet.

They are cheap enough, probably subsidized by Amazon.

Why not.

Well because I have a Nexus 5 which has a 4.7" display so it isn't rely going to be any different from using my phone is it?

Have a look at 6'' phablets in a shop. The Fire seems to have a different aspect ratio, so it will be shorter and wider and it has a wider bezel than phone has, but you'll get a general idea what to expect and whether you'd like it. It's a nice price, though. Or check if you can find any Kindle eReader in a shop, those are 6'' and seem to have the same aspect ratio. You have to decide if it's good enough, maybe it will be, 4.5'' vs 6'' that's quite a difference. As I said, for me not big enough, but my phone is 6'', Stig would not mind it, but it's your money and your decision.

Yeah I guess. I was just adding an inch to the corner of my screen, isn't that how it works??

What's the actual length/width of screen anyone know?

The aspect ratio looks like 16:10, so with 6" diagonal that makes it approximately 3.2" x 5.1".

The Nexus 6 phone is meant to be arriving too.

I'd suggest 6" is about as big as you want a phablet.

Why do others get tablets if they anyway have a smartphone? They do the same right?

Price I guess. Most tablets are under £200, less than Chromebooks.
