Hammy is not the word...I know Sam's a good actor normally but sometimes your 'opposition' is so bad you can't work with it and Barbara was definitely out of practice. Sam was just as bad in those scenes, it was like she was almost having a laugh at it. Weird...very weird...

I'm almost getting the feeling DTC is a love and warmth man with all this crap he's serving. Will it ever actually get going?

These scenes weren't originally part of the plot. They were filmed a couple weeks back to coincide with Ronnie's return.

Originally we were going to have Ronnie return to the square and be done with it.

When Sharon left Albert Square in 2006 she was on relatively good terms with Peggy so why does Peggy all of a sudden hate Sharon.

Because it fits with the current narrative of Lorraine Newman's EE...I mean the messiah DTC's EE where everything is gripping and believable and perfect And not lazy at all.

She was probably on good terms with her because she wasn't apart of her family...
However now she's marrying back into the family, she isn't too happy

I can understand Peggy not being happy about them getting back together but being full of so much hatred towards Sharon again? That just seemed silly.

I wouldn't say Womack was bad though. It was nice seeing a fairly worry-free Ronnie.
Windsor just over did the rage.

Maybe Peggy just felt sorry for Sharon in 2006 and now it's years ago since Dennis died so Peggy's going to hate Sharon as normal, I loved the Ronnie and Peggy scene though it's the first since they had a scene together since September 2010.

The Peggy scene was woefully stilted and hammy, but then I would expect nothing less going by the last 20 years.

This basically. When they left on good terms, Peggy wasn't the slightest bit concerned that Sharon was after Phil. Now she's marrying back into the family, Peggy will be fuming.

I thought it was great. There was more of the old Peggy this time around, compared to her last return. It got me thinking how great a Mitchell reunion in Portugal would be.

It was pretty bad to be honest. I know Barbara isnt the most amazing actress in the world, but she could usually hold her own. That scene was just bleating on about a grudge she's kept for decades. Get over it woman!

would have liked it if Peggy had said she'd spoken to Ben and he was doing what he could but Ronnie and Sal needed to go too. Would have been a fun twist to have had Ben been in contact with Peggy too.

You know what they say - the first ideas are the best.

Those scenes proved it.
