Big episodes tonight for both Emmerdale (A shock death, possibly two shock deaths) and Eastenders (Peggy's surprise return.) Which did you enjoy the most?

Emmerdale definitely for the drama, however EastEnders for me was the best, simply because Peggy returned!:P

I only watch Eastenders so that got my vote. Funny though that the big 2 now seem to be Eastenders and Emmerdale. They are leaving coterie trailing waaaaaaaay behind.

Emmerdale - without a shadow of a doubt.
I do think that DTC has worked wonders and generally EE has been the better show for most of the year but Emmerdale really pulled it out of the bag tonight, just as they did with Donna's death 6 weeks ago.

Both Brilliant tonight. As there is only an option to vote one rather than Both EastEnders gets my vote

I'd really recommend trying to catch Emmerdale on catchup. Even without knowing the characters or background to it I think you'll find it gripping. It was like a horror movie in places.
A big advantage Emmerdale has for these important episodes is the stunning scenery and amount of location filming they have - they can really make it look epic.

I hate to be picky, but to make it fair shouldn't you only vote if youb watched both? How can you judge which was better if you only watched one?

EE will probably get the most votes, but Emmerdale was definitely the best.

I didn't think Peggy's/Bab's acting could get any worse!

Emmerdale, but they're not comparable. EastEnders return was fun, but all else in the episode was pretty standard. Emmerdale was like an epic horror film.

Agreed, I can't vote. I watch EE but not Emmerdale but watched Emmerdale tonight and it was very good (if a bit far-fetched in places).

Both soaps did great to have top surprises in the episodes kept under wraps.

My fear is that I start watching emmer dale again and I won't be able to stop watching full time . Watching eastenders and posting on here ensures I get my soap fix, I don't want to overdo it.

Oh, good. This will end well. It's not like being a fan of both isn't difficult enough on here already, going into one soaps' thread to find people bitching about the other and its fans, although admittedly this happens more in Emmerdale threads.

I thought both soaps were excellent tonight and I'm just happy that my two favourite soaps are producing great quality episodes at the same time.

Personally I have considered tuning into Emmerdale purely so I can mingle with the emmer dale crowd as there are some fab posters in their daily threads. Don't feel the need to chase them with pitchforks and the like.
