CORRIE — Upcoming Stories, Newcomers and Exits
Cast Changes
Leaving 1. Peter Barlow (October/November) 2. Killer Rob (October/November) 3. Katy Armstrong (early 2014) None will be killed off. There is a big stunt in January, but it's possible no one will die. Hope it's epic anyway with some proper storyline coming out of it. On Peter and Rob: "They'll both be very different exits - one will be very high-octane and explosive, while the other one will be a lot sadder. I can't say which is which, though!" He has also said he hopes Peter and Rob return. SB has said Katy won't be killed off (though he said this about Tina): "Georgia's exit from the show was storyline-led, as the writers came up with this story a while ago and we're just starting to play it out now. I really respect Georgia and can categorically say that she won't be killed off. Who knows what could happen in the future?" Leaving (temporarily) 1. Kylie Platt ("traumatic exit" at Christmas, Paula Lane is pregnant, finishes filming late November) 2. Fiz Stape (Jennie McAlpine is pregnant, exit details unknown but baby due before Christmas) Joining 1. Kylie's ex-Callum (in next week, part of "rat pack") 2. Michael's son Gavin Rodwell (arrives "around Christmas time", promises lots of twists and it will "surprise everyone!", part of "rat pack") 3. Billy (played by Daniel Brocklebank, vicar/Sean's new love) 4. Howie (Tim's cousin, mentioned in interview with Blackburn, early next year) 5. Owen's ex-wife (Izzy's Mum, wants him back) Guest Stints 5. Cilla Battersby-Brown (October for six weeks) 6. Erika (played by Claire King, guest stint) 7. Macca (Callum's mate, start of October, 2 eps, if popular filming more in November) Upcoming Storylines Who Killed Tina climax 1. Tracy and Rob's wedding (on-location, "big drama") 2. Rob's killer reveal and exit (details unknown as yet) 3. Peter's trial and exit (details unknown as yet) Other stories 1. "Real tragedy" stunt in January, continuation of a story (Grimshaw building?) 2. Beth and Kirk's wedding, comedy and "bonkers" 3. Faye discovers she is pregnant as Owen's ex arrives 4. Steve McDonald develops depression 5. Kylie descends into drug addiction, heading to her exit at Christmas 6. Big Christmas story for Roy, involves Carla — Thought I'd make a list of everything I've read lately about Corrie coming up. I'm looking forward to the weddings, and really hope the new characters like Gavin Rodwell are decent... I don't hold out a great deal of hope tbh but it's possible it could be the start of improvements. There's an awful lot of new characters coming. Really hope Peter and Rob's exits are edge-of-seat, memorable episodes, otherwise it's a joke ![]() The stories are all good sounding on paper but if they aren't written well and woven together perfectly with good pacing, they won't work. That's the problem with Blackburn, he has all the ideas, but no clue about executing them. |

The trouble is the peter/rob storyline! The viewers (most of them) aren't entertained by it... They can make the exits and climax of the story, the most dramatic thing ever, but considering we know who killed Tina, the whole thing really is boring to watch!
![]() Roy is a great character so hopefully what they have in store for him will be good ![]() Steve's depression shall be interesting! It will either be good or depress the audience aswell lol! The stunt just sounds tedious... Corrie always seem to do these disasters, and it's silly, as you don't need to always do stunts in every storyline! Even the absolutely atrocious Andrea and neil storyline is getting a stunt tomorrow-_- However, hollyoaks is the worst for that, so corrie can breathe a sigh of relief haha! Kylie and her exit seem a bit meh, her ex just seems like a chavy little so and so, who will be gone soon, and another uninteresting character for the audience to hate. It's silly how they spent so much time building up Kylie's character, then they just go and change her all over again to suit/do a big and if you ask me unnecessary temporary departure. Beth and kirks wedding will be priceless! I'll definitely be tuning in for that one! ![]() Faye's pregnancy is absolutely ridiculous, and Katy is a nobody, as far as I'm concerned, she will not be missed, Owens ex sounds incredibly dull too, will they be pairing her up with Neil at all? They'd make a perfect match as stalker ex's:/ The upcoming characters sound a bit mixed... Some sound good, however some sound horrible and boring... Cilla turning up will be fantastic! Rob won't be missed, awful villain! All he ever does is look shifty... Peter will be! A coronation street legend! If you ask me though, the show has gone to the dogs, and Stuart Blackburn has noticed the severe drop in ratings and is scraping the barrel! |

Watching tonight's ED and EE, it really hit home to me just how far behind Corrie has fallen in terms of entertainment and actual drama. ITV really, really need to pull their finger out and quick. Getting rid of Mr. Blackburn should be step one on their road to recovery.

I'm really looking forward to seeing Michael's son and finding out more about their non-existent (I think?) relationship.

Good idea for a thread. There is always so much going on in soaps it is hard to keep up.

A gay vicar? How unrealistic is that? Hasn't he read the bible? And how would sean meet a vicar? The only resident who goes to church is Emily.

I'm not really watching/following CS atm but it's usually on while I do other things. I realise though that I'm so not looking forward to that child being pregnant and having to witness more flippin angst and handwringing from that family. It really is the most depressing saga of a family that I've ever seen on a soap.
In fact they may just as well have them standing at their door , wringing their hands and looking grief stricken while the husband stomps up and down uttering imprecations and taking an occasioal swipe at a passerby. |

The Windlass/Armstrong family have certainly had a rough time and as we can see it is set to continue I think its time they were given a break and just left alone for a while to be a family. |
