Nu Ben - thoughts so far?
I personally think he is so much better than the previous one that Joshua Pascoe played. So pleased they recast. Could this Ben be the best one yet?

I really like him. He's got the edge that the last Ben had but I like that we're seeing more of his vulnerability and that he can be nice.

Better yeah. I find it quite funny how often he's been cast. Still a bit too early to make a proper judgment I think but he seems alright so far.

In terms of a very early view, he is played by a terrible actor. Like a deer caught in headlights.

Liking him a lot. He's kept a lot of Joshua's creepiness while effectively channelling it in a more believable way, so you only get glimpses of it. That gives him an edge without making him a cartoon character, and it also gives the impression that Ben has aged and developed as a character without this needing to be made uber-obvious by the writers. He very easily switches from insolent, sullen kid to angry young man.

I like him so far. A far better actor than the two previous incarnations.

He is ok - too early to tell really
and as an 'aside' what is wrong with using the correct spelling of the word 'new'....... |

Yes he's taken Joshua's Ben and improved on it. It's never easy to play an established character but Harry has slipped into the role effortlessly. Great casting.
Ironically (considering all the speculation about Ben and Johnny getting together) I'd rank both Harry Reid and Sam Strike in the same category of acting - both have raw potential and will be ones to watch in the future but aren't quite the finished product yet. I like watching actors like that on soaps, it's always interesting to watch their journey. |

Isn't it NuNu Ben?! I like him so far. Although no performance will ever come close to the genius of the tap dancing, show tune loving original, I think that finally we have a Ben who might be able to play a convincing son of Philth!

I love him! the main difference is that he actually LOOKS like he is a mitchell over Joshua and Charlie. Harry Reid has started out very strong and is a promising actor, Now it is up to the writers.

I like Harry a lot and he's shown signs of great promise. I feel a sense of continuity flowing from Joshua to Harry - they look similar and they're the same type of Ben as written.
Fingers crossed he'll progress well and become THE Ben. |

Early days but I like him so far.
He's not reformed but he's not a panto villian either. He has shades of light and dark. He does appear to be alot more rounded this time but I do expect EE to once again tap into his darkness at various times during his stint. No matter who plays Ben, he'll always be one of those characters to polarise opinion. He'll never be a "good boy" but a controversial one. As for the actor, I'm finding him good. He has time to learn his craft but I so far I'm finding him convincing and believable in the role. |

Better, but still poor. It's difficult to feel anything for the *character* either though. I just feel indifferent to him.

I really like him, which surprises me. I really didn't like Joshua's Ben so wasn't expecting anything to change, I guess. Charlie was a poor actor but made up for it with hilarity, but I found Joshua's version totally repellent.

I think he's much better already - liked him straight away. He just seems less hard-faced & has better delivery. Let's be honest, anyone's better than the previous Ben!
