Some of you may feel different but that was some OTT acting from Barbara last night.
It felt like Benidorm had been merged into Eastenders. I'm glad the likes of Pat and Peggy have left. |

Why? They're brilliant! Of course she fits in? The shows hardly different from 2010, just new characters... I'd love her to return full time:/ she has a whole family on the square and all sorts!

I love Peggy, specially when she lived in the Jackson house, she was great with Kim's Sam,
I really want something of that Era back! I like the Carters in the Vic now! |

It was OTT acting because Peggy is an OTT character, she always has been.

I sort of agree, I'm sure if she agree there find her a place but I think without the Vic she been a bit lost.

Peggy has always been over the top. Maybe she feels out of place because she is only in a few scenes if she came back full time and started interacting with all of the characters again then it'd probs be like she'd never been away.

Losing Pat killed Eastenders.

I think she'd be out of place without The Vic, DTC would probably say no to Babs anyway because he wants to keep The Carters there.

Peggy would fit right back in. I'd much rather have the likes of Pat and Peggy in the show than endless Carters and new characters.

There is still a place for Peggy as the head of the Mitchell clan, but definitely not in the Vic. The show has moved on since Peggy dominated the Vic, it would be a massive step backwards if they put her back there.

As Long as the Mitchells are there, there will be place for her but if there was none then she would not fit in. If Babs does come back full time i don't think she would want to pull pints in the Vic again and hardly dought DTC will refuse her to come back. But if Babs don't come back full time i wouldn't mind her popping back for an episode like last night just don't let it go to a year pop back every few months even Christmas and i will be happy. I don't want to wait another year to see her again.

She's not going to return full time. She stated she was having trouble remembering her lines before she quit in 2010. The actress is pushing 80 so I think she deserves to take it easy if she wants to. Even though I'm not a Peggy fan I thought it was nice of her to come back and do a quick cameo. I don't agree she doesn't have a place anymore but it's a mute point because she won't be back as a full time cast member.
I can't understand how any EastEnders fan could be glad Pat is gone but it takes all sorts. So be it. |

I honestly thought she was ten years younger. Fair play to Babs.

she doesn't fit in because she has now become Barbara Windsor from the Bingo ads not Peggy.. it was funny for a few minutes her talking about Sharon but thats it..

I don't think it was really Barbara Windsors fault last night. Yes, her acting wasn't the best and yes it felt like she forgot how to play Peggy. But I didn't think the script was that great tbh. It was clumsy. Full of info rather than character. It just sounded like the writer wanted to impress older viewers rather than stay true to the character of Peggy.

Hammy, panto Peggy provided a nice subplot to the standard grittier EastEnders.
But if they were to bring her back for a longer stint, I think they are capable of making Peggy more grounded so that she would fit in to standard EastEnders. |

I'm glad she's gone, her latter days in Eastenders were rubbish. I can't understand how people wonder why Phil still struts around like he owns Walford but can accept that Peggy is the boss of a Mafiosa style family. If its unbelievable that people would be scared of an ageing bloke like Phil, who the heck would be scared of a gobby, little old woman like Peggy?

It felt like Benidorm had been merged into Eastenders. I'm glad the likes of Pat and Peggy have left. Both Peggy and Pat are soap icons and EastEnders legends. In fact both are icons of British TV. Both Characters hold a lot of history to the show (Naturally Pat more) They both have a family/friends and plenty of links. There is a place for Peggy and she fits in well. If you have a look at the amount of characters she still knows you can see there is a place for her in Walford. The only thing that has moved on since she left is the Vic but I can just see her behind the Bar at The Albert. |
