I was watching it uncritically but realised while reading the comments here that although I didn't have much of a reaction to it, that is a sign something was wrong. I should have been on tenterhooks wishing all would be well as I usually am in such situations. I couldn't have cared less.

There are too many actors on this show who basically seem to have a job for life and this creatively restricts their room for maneourorve. They need a brave boss who will radically prune where needed.Im not actually even talking about the older cast actually but the likes of Jason,Sophie,Sean,Michelle,Maria for example.Im not saying they all should go-although I wouldnt mind if they did but at least some of them need to because having such a high number of seemingly untouchables is hurting the show imo.

It was awful, but it wasn't a new low. The s/l where Ty fall through the ceiling was just as bad and even more far fetched.

At least he actually fell which is something tonight's offering would nave benefited from but only if death had been involved as well

I found it really funny
Well you must be in the minority there. Pathetic is the only word I can think of to describe tonight's Corrie.
So many viewers are worried about the deterioration in the show

I have never wished anyone out of a job before but I really really can't wait until the day Blackburn is fired.

Knew the Neil storyline would reach a damp squib of a finale just as it was starting to become mildly interesting. On another note I feel more and more sick every time simpering Gail and Michael are onscreen.

To put it kindly, it was horse shit !

Could not believe what I was watching. If it was supposed to be comedy then it was'nt funny, and if it was supposed to be drama then it was'nt dramatic !

It failed on pretty much every single level tonight. Its only redeeming feature was Tim.

Taxi for The Hat, please.

Why did no one think of Tim? Or why did Sally not notice the ladder when she came out for the final time in episode 1? As someone has said, this week on Emmerdale has been dramatic and luring viewers in. As for Corrie, it has been pushing them away.

I think from the comments, people have had enough, let's bombard ITV with emails calling for Stuart Blackburn to resign or be sacked immediately.

Try viewerservices@itv.com and tell ITV why Blackburn should go. The more emails the better.

It doesn't help Corrie that Emmerdale and EE are firing on all cylinders right now, they are really lagging behind in terms of drama, well in terms of everything really.

Stuart Blackburn took office for the handover period in January 2013, with his first credited episode being 8 April 2013.
Producers are usually credited on screen for at least two years though so fudd is still right about SB potentially having a while to go yet.

Emmerdale really should be treated better by itv. it's a little diamond for them yet they're always second best to corrie

theyre knocking spots off Corrie right now maybe they should give Emmerdale Corrie's time slots and show that its only held back because of the time its on.

The fans are unimpressed, I know a showbiz account on twitter, and the person/people running it, seem to like corrie, and have fallen out of love with EastEnders over the last few years, however tonight they tweeted just how shit corrie was, and how EastEnders is getting 'juicy' and I completely agree! Things are getting back to the way they were when I started watching the soaps, and the way it should be... EastEnders the best!

Have to agree on this. ....even the comments made by the others standing by wasnt a laugh out moment. ..Evas comment was by far the funniest tonight. ..and I don't really rate her usually! !!

Hope we see the last of Neil...he needed to have a real psycho s/l in order to get me interested! !! Being disappointing the last few weeks since Kens return! !!

Tonight's Corrie was shocking! Absolute poo. There is no way people would leave Tim on the roof without a ladder. It was as bad as the racism sl.

i don't think the roof top drama was meant to be a great piece of drama to be fair.

it all depends on what you want from your continuing drama. you have hollyoaks with sisters kissing brothers, you have emmerdale which has turned into the 'village of the damned' i half expect jack nicholson to turn up in the dales and you have eastenders with their big dramatic storylines with fires, guns, weddings and family secrets that are ott. at least with corrie we get a bit of the mundane. i love the mundane, it makes a refreshing change. i loved sally going on about the aerial on the roof and the fact she wanted to watch telly. things that we ordinary joe's can relate to and get p****d off about. imagine that happening before strictly tonight.

i don't think itv are for one second embarrassed by corrie and you know if push came to shove which soap they would save. no contest.

my main concern for corrie is that itv will read some of the comments on sites like ds and panic and have too many sensational over the top storylines. i personally don't want to see any more stunts, fires, serial killers, murders on the cobbles for a very long time, if ever. i have been a critic of the hat, perhaps i have been too harsh, following the rabble on here too much. if stuart can stick to corrie's strength, the ordinaryness of every day life, have character lead story's rather than issue based storylines i will be happy. i am not looking forward to the faye pregnancy storyline and i hear a big stunt is planned for january. itv need to stop trying to compete with the likes of eastenders. eastenders is good at what it does and corrie needs to stick to what it does best. corrie is far from perfect, but neither is it as bad as many are making out.

Why is it the way it should be?

Totally agree on these points. I usually love the Platts but Michael is such a boring character and he drains the life out of them. I don't like how they've all forgiven him so easily for robbing their house.

The Neil story has just ended the same way most of Blackburns storylines do. Damp squib just when it's getting interesting. See Karl, Maria, Phelan, Jason/Tyrone. I'm hoping robs storyline ends better but I'm not counting on it

Stuart Blackburn is getting paid for this tripe. ITV might as well have just thrown it down the drain for all its worth.

Corrie will die this Winter and SB will just walk away without a care in the world.
