10 thoughts are allowed across the two nights.

1) The scoring and leader board was right tonight - just hope we don't see any scores higher than a 7 for a few weeks.
2) Really enjoyed Jake and Janette but he doesn't look at all happy - needs to perk up big time because he could go far.
3) Amazed that Scott was scored the lowest (was deserved) - thought he would be over-marked because of his connection.
4) I can't see Judy really lasting beyond week 3 and I don't think that's the Anton effect - she's just out of her depth a la Pendleton.
5) Fantastic pace to the show but Tess's banter did not work as out in the front presenter - her role needs to be refined.

1. Great first show, glad 8's weren't given out.
2. Caroline was my favourite of the night!
3. I can't warm to Joanne now for some reason
4. The gap in the top three/bottom three on the leaderboard shows how good Caroline, Jake and Pixie were.
5. Claudia needs her all in black style back!

1) I try not to go into the shows with expectations, but Pixie didn't particularly live up to her pre-show 'dirty ringer' tag. We'll just have to see.
2) Caroline and Jake were the best two from tonight, I thought, with Pixie not far behind. I get the feeling that Caroline's scores would have been higher if she hadn't danced first.
3) Bless Tim. Bless Judy. Bless Joanne's choreography.
4) I just wish Judy's theme hadn't been so subtle - just the one bagpipe player? Bah.
5) Other than the rogue runner flying into shot, the show ran much more smoothly without Brucie popping up. Let's hope that we can keep it that way.

1) Pixie Lott's routine was a perfectly acceptable jive, but it was an absolutely shite game of Othello.

2) Tiger pants is one thing, but I was really hoping Scott Mills would go TOTALLY 'Rock DJ' and end up the dance by ripping his skin off.

3) You could see the pain in Bruno's eyes when he had to think of a rhyme for "Pixie" and realised that after "tricksy" he was dead in the water. Sunetra Sarker's inclusion on the show might actually be an attempt to kill him.

4) Judy Murray's total lack of personality meant they've scraped the barrel straight out the gate. "Uh...she's...uh...Scottish?". Look forward to her next dance being Womb themed and the one after that being all about how she likes to convert oxygen into carbon dioxide.

5) Last year her offa Corrie did a Big Purple One themed dance, this year him offa Eastenders did a tribute to the Quality Street Noisette. How deep does the soap-star-chocolate-snack-ballroom-dance conspiracy go?

1. Scoring about right for once
2.Missed Bruce's charm but not his jokes
3. Wondering who will be the comedy act this year
4 Harsher comments from Darcy, normally she is more kindly even when dances are poor
5. Overall not a great standard so far

1. Why was Aliona wearing oven gloves?
2. Jake is my favourite so far.
3. The sight of Anton in a kilt will haunt me for the rest of my life.
4. I wish Len would stop being smutty.
5. Tess did a great job, it's a much better show without Bruce.

1. Underwhelmed with the first show, tomorrow will probably be better.
2. Props and faffing about in evidence already !
3. Darcey didn't seem focused tonight, wittering inane comments for the most part.
4. Not many nice dresses tonight.
5. Pixie Lott - best of the night, Caroline not far behind. The younger ones showing more promise as expected.

1. Tess and Claudia:definitely not the right choice
2. Jake from Eastenders was good
3. Pixie Lott looks like she is already a professional dancer

1) Jake - wow, what a great start!
2) Why so many retina-burning costume colours clashing all over the place? Hideous.
3) Steve Backshall - MUSCLES!!!!
4) Some of the pairs look really awkward in the show's opening theme music
5) Too much backchat and people interrupting / talking over others

1. Tess appalling, the 'upbeat' act was so false

2. Wish they'd let Claudia have Tess's role, and got someone else in to replace Bruce

3. Dresses on the whole were very nice

4. Jake's tango music was terrible; played far too fast.

5. Overall probably the worst first week show on Strictly ever

1. I have a tenner on Caroline . Jake was my favourite though
2. Stop trying to turn Claudia main stream, we want the fringe and eye liner!
3. Bruno's forced laughter is annoying
4. Tess trying too hard, she'll relax and be just fine.
5. Looking forward to tomorrow

OK, I'll be the goofy, easily-pleased one because I loved it

1. Tim was a complete charmer. The dance was well-designed for him but it was him afterwards that made my night. He's just lovely. Would I watch Bargain Hunt for him...? Prob not but I'm delighted he's on the show

2. Big big confession. I found the insufficiency of Judy's waltz strangely moving. Judy and Tim gave me the biggest emotional hit tonight

3. Apart from Steve's arms of course

4. Caroline, Jake and Pixie are all really really good already

5. Claude and Anton (sorry, sorry!) both made me laugh tonight.

Told you I was easily pleased

Cheeky 6th. Band and singers on fire tonight, and the piper. God, how I hate Mull of Kintyre but how much I love a solitary piper. Bagpipes are a BEAST!

1. So excited that Strictly's back, I've lost all powers of criticism - everything was WONDERFUL!
2. Except Judy Murray's hunched shoulders and Anton's inability to take his role as a teacher seriously - stop telling jokes, Du Beke, and start teaching your celeb partner how to dance.
3. Oh, and I bloody hate the bloody Mull of bloody Kintyre.
4. Fringing is brilliant at disguising lack of hip action - nice one, whoever in the costume department designed Caroline's dress. Liked her dance a lot, though.
5. The revelation that is Scott Maslen Mark Two, aka Jake Wood. Did an excellent week one tango to a difficult song with a fast tempo. Good choreography from Janette, too, which I hope will muffle the Manrara-haters' constant bleating about her lack of ballroom technique.

1. Loved Tess and Claudia
2. Impressed by Caroline and Jake
3. Not impressed by Judy
4. Strange choreography from Joanne, felt a bit sorry for Scott
5. Scores reasonable but agree with others that Darcey's comments were a bit random

1) Jake by the best; if I had to give an 8, he'd be it. Caroline shortly after, Craig's 6 a bit harsh, but for the first dance, great.

2) Pixie a quite severe let down; I tended more towards Darcy's 6. She went wrong twice, and it was a bit pose-heavy. She could still be brilliant next week though.

3) Tim - dancing poor, banter great. Scott - dancing poor, banter poor.

4) I thought Judy's arms were fine, Craig? For week 1? She was really on edge, though, dragged into place. And did I hear Len say she had Cha-Cha-Cha next week? ...oh.

5) The judge's scores had a massive schism, but I felt it was a bit o.t.t. To me it was more:

Jake: 8
Caroline: 7
Pixie: 6
Judy, Tim: 5
Scott: 4

The great gulf in the middle of the leaderboard did Pixie too much of a favour.

1) Very pleasantly surprised by Jake - dare I say, impressed...
2) Bit startled by Claudia - I could see her eyebrows -
3) Loved Tess & Claudia's presentation
4) Didn't miss Brucie one bit
5) Joanne didn't appear to have "got" Scott with her choreography - felt quite bad for him...

1) I was disappointed overall
2) Pixie's jive was a bit stilted and laboured. Not much of a ringer.
3) Caroline has a lot of potential, but she needs to focus on the steps more.
4) Nobody annoyed me, which is good - Tim came close. The personalities are a bit bland though (like the dancing).
5) I thought Scott would be a bit better than he was. I've always thought he had a massive ego, so fair play to him for doing the show.

1) Much prefer Tess and Claudia, although I felt Tess was trying a little too hard at times, I'm sure she'll settle into the role though.

2) I'm sure I am supposed to find Tim endearing but I actually found him a little arrogant, and not nearly as amusing as he seemed to think he was.

3) On the other hand, I liked Judy and Scott much more, shame neither of them can dance at all.

4) I really liked Caroline, seems likable and has great potential.

5) Pixie can clearly dance but the jive seemed to lack something, still, a tough dance to get on week one.

1. Tess should not try to emulate Bruce, just be herself. Claudia is fine, fringe or no fringe.
2. Jake = good surprise. Scott, Tim and Judy = no surprise.
3. Caroline better than Pixie.
4. Darcy was a bit random, and Bruno a bit wound up.
5. Something energy wise was lacking, let's see tonight what comes.
