I have an isis tv dvd combI from tesco. It turned itself off last night as it had been on for four hours and now has a red stand by button on but won't respond to anything I do, there are no buttons on it except the dvd eject and play ones, but they aren't working on standby. There is already a dvd in there. I've lost the remote

Is there any solution im missing? Need my sat morning tv fix :------(

I've tried turning it off at the plug and on didn't work.

Why do they make tv that doesn't work without remote?!?

Go on Ebay and put in your make and model and you will be able to buy a remote for it. I have a tv in my bedroom its about 6 years old. The remote packed in got a brand new one on there for just over £5 got it with in a couple of days.

My daughter bought a VHS player (dont ask lol) for £10 from a charity shop it didnt have a remote she got one off ebay as well.

Are you absolutely sure there isn't a power button?...

have a look on the other side of the TV, opposite to where the DVD buttons are.

There could be a row of tiny buttons for on/off, vol & channel up/down etc.

It may have instead a small 'wheel' type self centering button, which can be rotated a little up or down.

Usually on these, you press it to power up, press again to cycle through options for volume / channel etc, and use the up/down motion to select the required action.

Worth a look!

Could be the buttons you need are behind a flap?

Found a pic of the Isis combi, and it does indeed show the rotating button I mentioned earlier...

left side of TV as you look from the front, located directly below the headphone socket and red/white/yellow RCA sockets.

If you have a sky remote try and set TV code 0093. Done this today with my Isis TV and sky box.

Because they don't expect you to lose it!

What is this garbage. I bought an ISIS 21" TV (as a bedroom TV) with full 1080 resolution for < £100 whereas next best price was over £130 at the time. I have had no problems. As I understand it they are basically Sharp TVs. There is and always will be a market for a budget brand.

Maybe you should look a bit harder for the remote? Try tidying your bedroom. It might turn up

Check the political/overseas sections of any reputable news site for an explanation of the "joke". That said, personally when it comes to Sharp there ain't no barge pole long enough ...

Never seen an Isis set - but I imagine it's VERY unlikely it's made by Sharp - as Sharp don't even make their own small LCD sets.

Presumably it's a cheap Vestel (as the Sharp ones are), if not Vestel it's likely to be an even cheaper and nastier make

THANK YOU!! I found it if anyone else had this problem it is on the bottom left hand side , tiny and hidden, flicks up and down and presses in. It's fiddly but works fine even does volume!! So happy you've saved me a hundred quid <3
