Foxsat HDR Tuner 1 faulty - Suggestions, please
I've had my Foxsat HDR for a few years now, without any problems. This morning, though, LNB2 reported 100% signal, but LNB1 was zero. I swapped LNB cables over; LNB2 OK but LNB1 still receiving no signal. Did Factory reset. No satellites detected, so no TV at all now. (SWMBO not too happy about that!) Looks like I need a replacement tuner board.
I live in France, but Foxsat isn't one of Humax-France's models. I'd have to contact Humax UK for a brand new board... If they're still available, that is. Does anyone know if the Foxsat HD receiver (i.e. non-PVR) unit uses the same board? Used units on UK eBay sell for not much money. Any other avenues to pursue, please? |

I would recheck the cables well (Both ends) - look for water ingression (known to destroy a tuner - AND any replacement). There have been very very few faulty Humax Foxsat tuners, a handful from water ingression.
The tuner is on a separate board which can be detached from the mother board - need to remove mother board. The bad news is that Humax asks for quite some money for it. I sold one a while back from a Foxsat I bricked. See what Humax want to charge and if they will ship, if not look on Ebay for a very cheap, even faulty (fault described) Foxsat and move the board across. |
