... reading glasses? Is he looking for a bargain or are they just props to remind us of his TV career?

Same reason he wears a hat indoors when training..... to hold something else in place ????

Are they reading glasses or general seeing glasses? I

I think he's doing the right thing. Gregg looked really weird without his specs.

I saw Tim at an antique fair in Wetherby last year. Bargain Hunt was being filmed, I discovered on arrival. Almost turned tail fearing the impact on genuine punters. But they were unobtrusive for the most part and Tim was seen and heard to be most pleasant off camera as well as on. On duty all the time of course but I have encountered other TV antique types who were farr less friendly.

I love Tim! He just wouldn't be him without his glasses!

Agree, Tim does need to keep his signature glasses. I think other antiques experts would be good on future series, too. Christina Trevanion is genuinely exuberant and lovely and Charles Hanson deserves some fun. And several others would provide a lot of entertainment.

Tim doesn't need those glasses because they're just reading glasses . He doesn't wear them in training .

I bet those idiotic producers told him to wear them for the show .

If the producers told him to take them off it might pull the rug from under his feet!

Slightly off topic but my friend encountered David Dickinson at a Real Deal filming session last week and he was extremely rude and off hand to her!

They are a part of his look, they bothered me the least in his performance

He has very many pairs of half glasses in various colours and he's always seen with them TV. They're part of who he is. Perhaps they're a bit of a security blanket

Absolutely agree - would be perfect. Don't hold your breath though, if they're not in a soap or a boy band, they're probably not going to be considered.

I think I mentioned the antiques progs as a good SCD hinting ground last year, so was pleased to see it happen in the form of Tim. Like your other suggestions too.

Although he doesn't know it, Tim joins my husband and I for lunch every week day. We love bargain Hunt and once met him at a recording. He had time for all his fans and was utterly charming.. He's a genuinely nice man and a true gentleman. Although he is younger than me, he wears his reading glasses around his neck for the same reason: Can never find them if he puts them down

Must admit I was highly amused watching Tim struggling to find somewhere safe to put his hand - Natalie's costume was was too revealing.

I have a soft spot for James Lewis, I'd love to see him do Strictly.

I have met Tim several times at Auctions and fairs and he is a real old fashioned gentleman, he raises his hat and opens doors for ladies. It would be good if some of his Bargain Hunt mates were sat on the front row of the audience.

Charles Hanson tweeted to say that he was going to the SCD launch show, would be nice to see some of the other experts there to cheer him on!
