Glasses have to be removed for AT. They get in the way of a close embrace.

Charlie Ross would be a laugh. PS Tims tv career was not his main thing, he is a highly experienced antique expert and not a silly celeb

On a practical point I have got to the age where I find my self, despite varifocal looking over the top of my glasses.
I suspect like me without them he would not be able to see , with them on my feet are a blur its a no win situation except for half glasses.
I hate it as a look and when young thought it was a stupid look. No I find myself looking stid, karma can be such a bitch

Yes, I agree with you about Charlie. He's delightfully dippy and so gawky at times he looks somewhat less than capable of walking in a straight line, never mind dancing...! But a proper little sweetie nonetheless. Jonathan Pratt would be good, too - he has a quiet, old fashioned charm about him.

That sounds more like Charles Hanson than Charlie Ross?!?

The glasses are more a silly gimmick than a necessary aid.
He has them balanced on the end of his nose most of the time, so they aren't for seeing where he's going.
I saw them swinging from his neck whilst he was "dancing."
Why keep them on? Was he expecting to have to read some dance instructions in small print at any time?

Like many people on TV, it's more about finding something "personalised" to use to attract attention.

Other people have attention seeking "tricks" with glasses.
That numpty Nick Knowles, was forever taking his off and putting them back on again many times, in each segment on one of the dumbed down programmes he presented.

I was more struck by the fact that Greg Wallace took his off. It made him look weird. And had a rather peculiar effect on Darcey

If you haven't already visited them I would urge you to visit Tim and Natalie's Twitter pages. Some of the photos of Tim are quite disturbing.
