Sorry I just can't stand him.

Don't think much of his dancing or his choreography. And he fatally lacks charisma.

It's a shame he's landed the best dancer in the competition.

Whereas I think it's a good exchange. It's a good thing we all define charisma is different ways (not to mention decent choreography) or it would be a dull, dull world.

I too would rather have Kevin than Artem! (I don't know the other two, but if they are in the same mold as Artem, then I would probably prefer Kevin to them as well.)

I love Kevin as a dancer, choreographer and as a tv personality. Don't think he ever lacks charisma when he is dancing or when he's in training, talking to the judges, the celebs and the presenters.

He is actually v popular!

I do like Val and Maks mainly for the tangos they danced with Meryl Davies as I don't really watch DWTS.

I miss Artem, like Kevin, have no issue with Val, and would dearly love Maks to stay on the other side of the Atlantic if at all possible thx.

Oh well, nevermind.

I can't imagine a definition of charisma that includes Kevin... it's sets the bar very low...

Artem's a much better dancer & choreographer than Kev. He's a bit funny looking but I can forgive him that.

I'm happy to trade Artem for the lovely Kevin (though I wouldn't have minded keeping both). No idea who the other two characters are. I don't really see what's not to like about Kevin.

I much prefer Kevin to Artem personally but as someone has already said, without differences in opinion the world would be a very boring place

Yeah I'm really mystified why people have such a problem with him...

imo he is much less reserved and more camera friendly as a pro than artem. and i like artem too, i just think he is more serious and quiet compared to some of the other pros.

How is Kevin a trade for Artem ??

They both did the last Strictly series so were colleagues.
Surely Artem is a trade for Tristan, as he was doing DWTS, so is a swap for Artem.

I can imagine if Tristan was having visa issues in the US and Artem was having visa issues in the UK - then a straight swap was logical.

I like Kevin. He's not traditional Strictly beefcake. He's got the whole nerdy, shy boy next door vibe going on some of us find very appealing!

I don't think the OP is making a serious point about a trade - she's just having a dig at Kevin Clifton.

My definition probably includes a sense of humour, lack of personal vanity and not taking himself too seriously.
(for the record, although I was not an admirer of Artem's style of choreography within Strictly apart from his work with Kara, I think he also has a sense of humour and was a decent person who, perhaps (I hope) doesn't actually take himself as seriously as he sometimes appeared to)

That may be why you like him, but it's not much to do with the definition of charisma...

I like Kevin too. I'm not sure who the other 2 Pros are mentioned in the OP but Artem was nice too. I don't really miss him though.

Also we didn't get Kevin in exchange for Artem. He was here last year too.

So we got Tristan and Trent for Artem.

I would say that is true of Pasha, for example, but Kevin just comes across as a bit wet.

I remember in the Paso Doble last year, I believed Susannah, but Kevin didn't convince me in the part at all, I found it quite excruciating tbh...

I don't know if I can go through that again.

I'd much rather have Kevin and Tristan than Artem and Maks - like Val though, even if he's just a better behaved version if his brother!

Artem's style is better suited to DWTS because the rules are less strict.

Interesting you should choose that example, as the judges - and many of the people of this forum - thought that paso was their best dance. So on that basis I have to say that I hope Kevin's dancing continues to revolt you, as that seems to be when he's at his very best.

The standard primary definition of charisma (Oxford Dictionary) is 'compelling attractiveness or charm which inspires devotion in others' - I find humour and lack of vanity much more attractive and charming than fake tan, artificially whitened teeth and muscles. So apparently do others.

[sorry to be testy but while I can totally accept others don't share my tastes in men, dancing or choreography, I do resent being told I don't understand the meaning of a very basic English word]

I can't stand Maks' personality but he's a good dancer and choreographer on the floor.

I don't mind Tristan, I wish he had a better partner - Frankie in fact...

dont think the OP cares about the standard of dance just 'charisma'
