I wonder if it is the usual bias against anyone with any accent other than the London / South East of England accent (though East Europeans seem to be accepted). I suspect some of the moans about Tess are because she has a slight accent.

i don't miss wolfish artem at all, or his distinctive brand of windmill armography, and his tendency to oleaginous sniffing of his partners...

i'm unclear though why we got a 12 year from the junior glee club, perhaps the producers were confused and thought pixie lott was an actual pixie and therefore got some sort of wood sprite to dance with her.

i quite like tristran though.

i don't mind kevin, but i'm not very keen on his disco sister so far.

Well, I for one am pleased that we do have Kevin, I think he has been a fantastic addition to the show.

I saw it very differently, Kara & Natalie clearly had a great time. Artem was perfect for both of them in different ways. The female celebs generally cry at some point irrespective of who they're with because training is hard...

In my experience, Russian and Eastern European teachers tend to be more strict, more severe, it's partly a cultural thing. I didn't study ballroom but I did violin and piano since I was 3 and ballet later on. It doesn't bother me, I like that level of dedication.

I liked Artem but didn't like the arm wafting type of choreography he did.

I also don't think he was particularly charismatic.

This comment written by someone who has no notion of what goes on in the real dancing competition world!!! The word 'bully' is not used, it's 'teacher' like 'the sarge' in the army, or 'coach' in the world of athletics. these ladies were raw recruits that had to be shaped into something in a short space of time. Otherwise they would all have danced like Anne Widdicombe.

I do miss Artem, and the "Artem is rubbish' thread!

Oh how I agree. Furthermore, if I were a betting woman I'd lay cash on the little twerp getting the glitterball this year.

I've never been a fan of Artem but I loved Kevin last night and I am so pleased he has landed himself one of the best dancer in the competition. They make a great couple and I hope they win. America can keep Artem.

Nah, I've a better idea. Send Kevin to the USA and bring the lovely Artem back.

Really wasn't a fan of Kevin's dancing last year. It was too frantic. However, I think Trent has now put that into context... Willing to give him another try this year.

A former British Champion, a very talented dancer, a genuine and thoroughly likeable man, how does that make him " a little twerp" ?

People just hate him. And have already taken a dislike to Joanne.

It's mad if you ask me. If I had to pick some strictly pros to teach me to dance it would be them. If I had to pick strictly pros to go for a drink down the pub with it would be them. What's not to like.

cant understand it either Elle - surely some one from Jo's background is an asset to the show ??

I bet the bbc prefer this type of publicity for the show https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FpI3rXPQFLU than some of the publicity others attract

Kevin and Joanne are two great additions to SCD . Both have personality which is sadly lacking in a lot of the East European pros . Of course the language difficulties does play a part .

I never know why people make their comments so personal. How on earth can you hate someone you don't know.?
Seems strange to me....

Who's talking about hate? I find him really irritating but hate is a long way off. I couldn't muster that strong a feeling about him tbh.

People on DS take against people for the most minor reasons.

People dislike Joanne for being "too aggressive." As if she's some sort of football hooligan not a dancer.

I think he's a mediocre dancer, that's the problem.

If Kevin is brilliant what language is left to describe Nureyev?
