Judy looked as if she was almost immobilised by nerves. As one stage, it seemed to me as if she might not make it to the end of her performance. It also surprises me, as she has been motivating her sons in sport for years.

She needs to acquire some of that self-belief.

Ye but her sons are very good at tennis and she isn't very good at this?

Well she is not even a celebrety so firstly she should'nt be there, and secondly yes she was nervous as a kitten out there. Stiff as a board.

She is as much a celebrity if not more than the 2 created ones. Mark Wright and Alison Hammond.
She was crap though.

She is the female fed cup captain and a presenter on BT Sport I do not see how that is any different from allowing a newsreader to enter the competition.

the past week has affected her she was more confident in the launch show.

its not nice to hear people saying get you off strictly on top of someone wishing her son had died in the Dunblane massacre

I'm sorry but I thought she was the worst of the night, slow, stiff, expressionless, bad footwork. She had no plusses. Oh well, she is Andy's mum so maybe that's a plus

Bloody hell, I missed that. Do people who say such things maybe imagine people in the public eye aren't quite people any more, or don't have feelings to hurt? Perhaps it's a TV/Computer mistaken-identity issue. You can shout anything you want at a TV screen and it's funny, but your computer is an output as well as an input device.

I'm not her greatest fan but I am willing to give her a chance. She was nervous and even Anton could not calm her, bless. She could be good if she let herself be guided by Anton not only in the dance but with his nature. Why can't people give her a chance there were some celebs not even as good as her. Some people have really got it in for her, she cant do right for wrong. Like I said I'm not a fan but I do feel sorry for her. I am not having a rant at other posters but with viewers in general.

I do think the music was I'll advised, not from any political standpoint (wonder if it was chosen pre referendum?) but just because it is a tad too pedestrian even for waltzing IMO. But you could see she had been applying herself to learning the dance, just not yet a natural performer.

To me, Judy looked to be feeling very self conscious. if she could only have forgotten about the audience and just danced for the sheer pleasure of dancing (as Tim seemed to be doing) she would have done better. Easy enough to say from the comfort of my settee. But I'd love to know how the dance was supposed to end - walking to the seat and plonking yourself down does not normally form part of Anton's choreography.

I agree. Some posters feel they have the right behind the keyboard to "own" the people whom they watch on the box. Would love to give them a tennis raquet, a box of balls, and put either Andy or Jamie on the other side of the net. Judy would enjoy umpiring that!

I have to say I am glad they avoided the obvious theming, though I suspect it will put in an appearance if they stay in long enough. Charleston may be the best bet if they must

Judy looked absolutely petrified. She has no performance element but I hope she gets a few weeks out of it as I quite like the pairing of Anton and Judy.

To me Strictly is all about people like Judy genuinely learning to dance, too many ringers on the show.

Agreed. Judy was rubbish but I hope she gets better during her time on the show. I'd love to see her do well for at least one week.

I am not a fan of hers, the choice of music and costume was predictable and patronizing (IMO) She seems happy to play into the "feisty, no-nonsense man hating battle-axe", which, IMO is a shame, as she did seem to have a good sense of humour, hope she relaxes and shows us more of her softer side.

she learnt some steps but has no feel for following the lead of a man's arm round her. The top half of her body was quite random.

They should be inviting people onto the show who bring something. Some can dance, some have personality, or chemistry, or are funny. I'm hoping Judy relaxes soon and starts getting into it and enjoying it - then we can see what she has got.

When SCD first started, Judy's level of performance would have been par for the course. Now we are used to seeing far too many celebs who can pull a good performance out of the bag from week one. More and more celebs have been to stage school or have some form of dance experience.

I've always loved the Judys of the SCD world.

The celebs whose almost - but not quite - imperceptible improvement week by week has provided this viewer, at least, with the greatest interest.

pooter plus anonymity equals arsehole on occasion - sad but true. I can't believe people said that either however much you disagree with his views or his right to air them it's beyond the pale isn't it. I hope he views such comments with the contempt they deserve and does his mum.

Well, it's a new one on me. She gets a huge amount of unwarranted criticism in the media, but her being a supposed man-hater has passed me by.

Me too. I thought the criticism was she was a pushy mum - of two men!
I like her.
