Darcey knows about line and posture but was not a ballroom or Latin dancer. I don't think she should be a judge for that reason.

It's OK, whatever you wanted to say (am still guessing) you said it twice.

Yep, all she seems to comment on are shoulders and arms!

I like Darcey. She gives good constructive criticism, especially about posture. Bruno too, underneath his bluster and antics, is an astute judge. It's a shame that Craig can be such a bitch because he too has a wealth of knowledge about performance. I don't like Len at all. he telegraphs his one off jokes and is extremely irritating but again, has a wealth of experience. Yes, I'd like to see a change of judges just to stop the show getting stale but I doubt any pro judge would want to take the job on.

There are plenty of pro BB / Latin dancers who would gladly take the job as judge on Strictly.

But the show is aimed at a general audience and the BBC seem to think that means they have to include "faces" the general public will have heard of - i.e Alesha, Darcey. Professional bb/lat dancers probably not famous enough for them! They seem to forget that when the show first started pretty well no one, other than dancers, had heard of Len, Craig, or Arlene either, let alone any of the pro dancers!

I used to kind of agree with the points Craig made but always felt his language was too strong. Now I am afraid he plays the pantomime baddie. There have been occasions when pros have had to point out that his judgement was wrong and there was one occasion when it was done on live television. If my memory is correct I have a feeling he actually had to accept he was wrong on that occasion. There are occasions when he had changed or toned down his comments by the time he gets to Monday's ITT. He also over criticises some celebs and ignores faults or plays down faults/mistakes in others eg Lisa Riley. Her footwork was sloppy and she made errors but he was never harsh with her. In the last two or three years I have lost all respect for him.

all the judges have their strengths and weaknesses..

Darcey often seems tongue tied but the point is that she can dance at a level that no-one else on the show can come close to so any praise from her is especially valued

So does Darcy.

Alesha was much better then Darcy, more personality, great chemistry with the other judges, brought a lot of energy to the panel and actually gave good comments and has done ballroom and Latin to a professional standard.

I am sorry but I don't agree with this comment. Yes, Alesha brought some energy to the panel but to say that she has "done Ballroom and Latin to a professional standard" is laughable. I would say that she hasn't danced to any standard at all. Just learned steps to a given piece of music.

I think Darcy is at least as good a judge as the other three. Only Len has done ballroom and he is all over the place with his judging - throwing in a few technical terms doesn't disguise this.

She seems to be vamping it up a bit more this year - I suspect that she has been told to do this by the producers.
