I am not hating on the musicians they are talented however turned on strictly last night and the screeching of the singers is near unbearable maybe they should just consider playing the tracks.
Do you know what? I honestly hardly ever think the singers are bad. Once in a blue moon maybe, but that's all. I don't expect a clone of the original version, so maybe that's why it doesn't bother me as much as it does some.

And sometimes it's a blessed relief that they're not a clone of the original version. The show would lose so much without the warmth, sweat and really-thereness of the band. Bands bring something energetic

Quite agree, and they're superb musicians. Yes, Hayley can seem slightly nasal and shrill at times, but otherwise is an excellent and versatile singer.
I bet they don't get paid what they're really worth.

If they are talented, why ask them to leave the floor in your thread title ??? and especially since you then say it's the singers you hate, not the musicians. I think the band is wonderful and Dave Arch is a superb musician. So one 'l' on wonderful and much praise from me!
Tbh I've not given it a lot of thought before now, but I really like having a live band & singers and wouldn't want that to change. It's part and parcel of the show, plus I've heard these singers on BBC radio shows and think they're pretty good.

Are you real?? You can't have on-stage live dancing to tracks! Dave Arch has to watch the dancers on the floor and give them extra time if they need it, eg for a lift.
Honestly, after 10 series of Strictly ...................... only miming pop stars have tracks.

Wrong title for the thread, by the way. Why attack the orchestra when all you are really complaining about is one singer - I don't like her voice either.
Put it this way, I think it will be good to get Tommy Blaize back in the singing department now Robbie Williams' tour (which Tommy was involved in ) has finished.
Live music is an integral part of the show's atmosphere. The band only get to play each song 3 times before the live show (and that includes the dress rehearsal). I think they do pretty well considering all the different styles they have to cover.

I think that they sometimes do it on DWTS, not that I am advocating it.

wholeheartedly agree
every week they are amazing, no matter what they get given, they play/sing it from the old classics to modern day pop songs, they have so little rehearsal time and only on the very odd occasion does it go horribly wrong - Spice Up Your Life being a prime example of this
One of the singers DESTROYED Someone Like You by Adele. The composition was absolutely terrible. But I don't think they should just pipe music in- we'd all miss slating/praising them every week.

I think the singer struggled there had been an attempt to rearrange the track to waltz timing and didn't sound quite as we usually know it.
i love the band and would hate the show to substitute them with recorded music, but i did think the weekend shows suffered from a few tchnical glitches in terms of balance and sound overall (and not just with the band) plus they didn't seem quite on point, like they hadn't quite warmed up for the series, which is unlike them. i'm sure it will all be fine and i'm delighted that tess is acknowledging the singers by name.
