I think it's fantastic that we have a live band on SCD and usually they do a fantastic job .
Sometimes I don't like the arrangements, like when they had one of the singers wailing in the background yesterday in the song 'I'm every woman' .

My main gripe about the music is some of the appalling song choices for the Latin numbers, which I believe is down to the producers . They destroy the entire Latin feel of what Latin dance music is supposed to be . Surely we could have 2 authentic Latin music choices per programme, or even 1 .

There is nothing more infectious and brilliant and lively then the real Latin beat .

The live band should be compared to live performances by the original singer(s) of the song.

Comparing a live performance to a studio recording is not a level playing field.

I think they generally do very well in comparison to other live performances of the songs.

I was thinking that too, why did they not choose a song that naturally lent itself to a waltz rather than trying to shoehorn that song in just because it was a big seller?

Yes, that was one instance where I felt they shouldn't have tried to mimic the record. Not humanly possible for most people, even decent singers, to keep that sort of thing up and have it sound good without seeming to even stop for breath!
