Early days.. but after the launch show/ first weekend of live shows, what are we thinking?

At first I wasn't so sure on Joanne or Trent but now I'm liking all three especially Tristan

I really like all of them tbh.

Tristan probably my favourite out of the new pros for utterly utterly shallow reasons! Sexiest jive ever, haha. I've watched it four times and not looked at Jenny once.

Loving Tristan! a shame it seems he may not stay in it for long unless Jennifer improves substantially.

Joanne needs to tone everything down for TV and either cut her hair or wear less sticky lipgloss.

Trent needs to shave that creepy fungus off his face, stat! it's distracting. Sadly not at all keen on Pixie, which doesn't help.

Joanne's choreography was appalling - I think it was Monkseal's blog that said there were three seconds that were recognisable as cha-cha. The two boys I thought were fine.

tristran was pretty impressive.

trent looks about 12, and seems to have escaped from narnia. this prevented me from making any observations about his dancing.

joanne is the new girl. two words that will earn her only criticism and vitriol on the site. however she does seem to have confused strictly with the high school musical disco section, and will be slated across the board for it. i give her a chance cos she's new. but really, she needs to up her game.

Very early days.....but

I love Tristan already,,,,,I like Trent, he came over very well this week and he choreographed a decent ish jive.
Joanne comes over abit hyper to me so that puts me off, also I didn't like her routine she gave Scott.

I've said it before but Joanne is so like Kevin (obviously doh!) but they both seem hyper to me, although Kevin may have calmed it down this series, we'll see.

Liked Tristan and Trent .

Joanne was hampered by that awful song choice and I'm afraid Scott really can't dance and will require some kind of miracle to keep him in the show .

I like Tristan, bit gutted he didn't get Frankie or Pixie.

Joanne's choreography was pants.

Trent I found slightly traumatic but he seems a nice enough guy.

I like Tristan a lot, I've seen him previously on DWTS and he's really talented - sadly he didn't get paired with any contenders there either. His relationship with Jenny is lovely but can't see them staying for long.

Trent is growing on me - I agree that a shave wouldn't go amiss but I'm guessing that would make him look even younger. His choreography for Pixie was good, I think he did his best to showcase her.

Joanne is slightly annoying although I am looking forward to seeing her in ballroom. She seems a bit manic and her hair needs sorting as it covers her face too often - noticed that in the pro dances too. I felt a bit sorry for Scott because as others have said there was very little cha cha content and it was all a bit disco.

Thoughts on them...
- bland
- bland
- blond and bland

...but early days - never know, one of them might show some personality soon.

I hadn't watched any of their previous stuff before they joined SCD so they were all pretty unknown to me.

So far I like Tristan who comes across as so likeable and also very cute, I hope I get to like Trent as I think him and Pixie will be good and in it right up until the final, but Joanne is the one I am most surprised about.... and not in a good way!
I know it is very early days but I expected so much more from her. I am the first to admit that I know very little about 'actual' dance steps etc but even I could see that it was barely a cha cha. I'm sure she'll get better in time though and is just settling in atm.

Didn't think much of the choreography from Joanne or Tristan. Sure, they might have duffers for partners but they can do better than that. Rather liked Trent's choreography.

It's early days so they need a chance to find their feet a bit, and part of that is dealing with how to showcase a pro with less natural dance ability.

I was looking forward to seeing Joanne but think perhaps she was trying too hard. Hopefully she might read these comments and try and calm it down a bit. Perhaps her professional partner when she was competing did most of the choreography so she hasn't got as much experience in it as they thought.

Nice to see a chest hair on somebody not Anton

I really like Tristan. Normally I would be said because he's not paired with a contender, but love his relationship with Jenny. She didn't have much energy in it, and her kicks and flicks could use a lot of work, but she kept up with his difficult choreography and didn't lose timing at all. Likeable pair the two of them.

Not liking Trent that much but time will tell.

Joanne is trying too hard, I think and didn't like her choreography.

BIB That's exactly what I thought when I saw that routine. It was so so bad. I presume she'll be choreographing a ballroom dance this week so perhaps they'll be an improvement. Think I read somewhere ballroom is her specialty. I wonder if Emma Slater is given yet another clodhopper (thanks seaside lady ) next season on DWTS she may make herself available for strictly. She's an excellent dancer and a very good choreographer.

I was aware of Tristan before strictly and think he's a terrific addition. I liked Trent's routine for Pixie, there was plenty of content and overall she danced it pretty well.

Tristan ~ his accent is to die for , jive choreography, not so much

Trent ~ I don't know, maybe.......

Joanne ~ I love her so much BUT she needs to calm the hell down!! I know she is excited about being on the show but whoa girl!! And her cha cha choreography for Scott was a huge let down, looking forward to seeing what she comes up with for ballroom

BIB Joanne is a world champion ballroom dancer, current world champion I believe, I'm looking forward to seeing her ballroom

I think Joanne just needs to watch herself back and realise that unlike the act-tors in Blackadder, she doesn't need to declaim everything. Less is more, especially on the tele.

Tristan, I likey! Could be my first pro crush.
Trent, hard to say, seems a bit bland, how old is he again?
Joanne I find a bit manic, but then she is associated with Kevin in my mind at the moment and I am still traumatised by last year.

I realise this has nothing to do with their qualities/ shortcomings as dancers, choregraphers or dance teachers... we don't have to talk about this yet, right?

Trent freaked me out. You know that moment when the policemen start looking younger? I had one of those. He looks like he should still be a school.

I liked Joanne's personality she seemed bubbly and enthusiastic. I know what others mean about trying too hard and the choreography but am inclined to cut her a bit of slack until she has time to settle.

Tristam I am afraid made no real impression on me at all as yet. I doubt I could pick him out of a line up.

Tristan's great
Didn't really take to Trent at first, but I dunno, he was okay on Friday. Need to see more, still undecided.
Only dislike Joanne because she's related to that horrid Kevin from Grimsby creature. Puts me off Karen, too.

Can't say that any of them made a huge impact with me - unlike when Brian Fortuna started for example. I loved him immediately.

However I do think that perhaps Joanne's choreography was severely affected by Scott's limitations. I'm not sure he could do a recognisable cha cha with those feet.

Trent looks like younger Ian Waite. I think Joanne's choreography was adjusted to Scott's dance inabilities and he failed to deliver anyway. He'd really be better off watching the show with a drink in his hand.
