Most professional dance couples (also some amateurs) do shows of some description - usually dance schools, dance competitions, dance weekends at holiday venues (such as James & Ola at Sandals), cruise liners, that sort of thing (done a good few myself and they can be a lot of fun).

The now world famous "Burn the Floor" started simply as a group of dancers doing a show - or 'cabaret' at the Australian Championships many years ago.

Vincent & Flavia were fortunate in that they had something a bit different to offer. Argentine Tango appeals to a lot of people, not just Strictly fans or those interested in BB & Latin and A.Tango shows were already generally very popular at the time. And V&F are particularly good.

Brendan openly admits that if it hadn't been for Strictly, he'd probably not been able to put on big shows, but I have to say his shows are extremely good, with great back-up dancers.

Sorry, but Anton's show is definitely for Anton fans only!!

A lot of DS people never liked Brendan, especially when his shows started a while back, likewise plenty don't like Craig R_H, but in both cases Brendan's shows, and Craig's pantos have all been sell-outs.

So, no reason why James & Ola shouldn't put a show together, but they'd need to find an original slant. James might not be popular on DS but that's not necessarily very many, and there's plenty of others who do like him and Ola. I wish them luck if that's what they decide to do.

I've been to a couple of events locally where the Jordans have been performing their showcase - and they are absolutely fabulous to watch - especially if you are lucky enough to get seats near the dance floor.

James does the banter while Ola goes off to change outfits, and he's very funny, and very knowledgeable about all things dance-y and happily answers questions.

Both of them are happy to stay and talk to fans, sign autographs, do selfies both before and after the events, and they seem to have a regular little earner doing these events in our part of the world.

I would happily pay to see them doing something like the Pasha/ Katya tour, or even the early Anton/ Erin ones. If you like watching dancing, but say you wouldn't go to see the Jordans, you are missing out on a damn good show.

And I have seen Anton and Erin. It was just after his partnership with Ann Widdicombe and he is very funny, great sense of humour...

James is not that good. I don't think anyone will be queuing up to see this

After watching james on CBB and seeing how horrible he is I wouldn't describe him as having banter. No thanks. I prefer dancing.
Now Janette and Alijaz I would pay to see

As you clearly haven't seen him performing live with an audience there to watch him dance, you cannot really make sweeping comments like this!

There is a world of difference between watching people living in the goldfish bowl of CBB where very few people cover themselves in glory, be they celebs or the ogeneral public (nice people are accused of being boring!) and watching someone perform their normal day job. Other people on CBB were just as bad as James was (not that I thought he was that bad as I get his humour!), if not worse eg Kellie and Gary.

When he does his chatty bits during Ola's costume changes, he is very funny, very sharp, and has the audience in the palm of his hand. Both of them are also very good with fans, especially after the show where they are very patient and talk to very one who wants to talk to themand do autographs and photos.

Their shows are sell outs - so there are many people who will happily pay to see them!

If their shows are sell-outs, why are they asking their twitter followers to tweet Arlene Phillips? Wouldn't it be better for them to approach her themselves, complete with evidence of 'sold out' shows?

I have seen Anton and Erin, Vincent and Flavia, Darren and Lilia and Brian and Kristina do their cabaret many times and they are all the same formula (so to speak)

All the pros spend a huge amount of time after these cabaret shows with fans so its not just James and Ola that do this

I still wouldnt pay to go and see them tho, I personally dont find their dancing all that great and I cannot stand James

If you read my original post - I said they did a lot of work locally ( west Kent) - presumably with Arlene, they are looking for a wider (national) audience, not just their fans in their local area.

I do like the Jordans dancing, and think that they are very good with the fans. I went to see Ian and Camilla at a similar event and thought James and Ola were much more approachable, and didn't just talk to those who obviously follow them round.

Each to their own - but I would pay to see most of the pro dancers do a show!

I agree. I saw them in the fantastic Pro Tour and would pay to see them again. Also, my friend's husband caddied for James at a charity golf competition and said James and Ola were lovely people. BTW Ola confirmed they do want to start a family soon.

As long as it was at a venue near me and the ticket prices were reasonalable, I'd pay to see most SCD pros in a show. I don't know anyone who was disappointed after watching the SCD pro shows.

People are assuming Arlene doesn't know what's going on.

I keep being told that James is 'lovely', but he does a damn good job of hiding it when he's on TV/on twitter. Which isn't a good idea when he's trying to get the public on-side for his latest project. Many people haven't met him, so they only 'know' him from what they see on TV or read in newspaper/mag interviews or on twitter. If he wants people to shell out their hard-earned on his dance shows, then he needs to be himself, assuming, of course, that the 'nice' James people are saying they've met is the real James.

I'd go to see James and Ola. Ola's my favourite female dancer. Saw Pasha and Katya last year on their tour and they were great. I love SCD so would be really happy and pleased to see any of the dancers.

Well, they seem to have landed a good contract with Sandals in the Caribbean next spring, which is a step up from the Thomson Gold hotels they did on the Costa Del Sol last year (I think last year). Many of the clientele not being British, they will not necessarily know who they are..I mean to say that the American clientele would probably be more familiar with the DTWS pros, but I wouldn't know if they out number the British holiday makers in Sandals or vice versa, or indeed, if these particular dance weeks will be more heavily marketed in Britain, as it was a full page ad in the Sunday Mail. I wonder if that signals that there will be no immediate plans for a baby, if indeed there are. If this is Ola's last year, be interesting in where they go from that.

I have seen them perform on numerous occasions on the Strictly Live Tour. Not he best dancers so why would I pay money for a solo show? They're both kicking on I prefer more athletic dancers.

Sell outs? I could sell out a sports centre but it's hardly up there lol
