I love the run up to The Apprentice!

I am looking forward to finding out about the first task on Thursday, and the second task on Friday - we were all a bit confused about Task 1 in the Filming Thread in the early summer - the women were selling flowers AND coffee...

I will have a pizza with a whole chicken on to celebrate

Will it be Kosher, blessed by a Muslim butcher with the sign of the cross, in the general vicinity of a Mosque?

Same, so excited!

I would imagine that there are other things they're selling besides flowers and coffee, as it's quite an odd combination. Maybe, like last year, they're given a selection of things to sell. Or possibly they'll repeat what they did in the third episode of Series 3, and say that they can do or sell whatever they like to make money. I loved that task! They haven't really done it since, although they did a similar thing in Task 10 last year.

I think Task 10 last year was more of a 'smell what sells' task. But you could be right about the first task of this series!

If you’ve been itching to know just when The Apprentice 2014 starts on TV this year then wait no more: The Apprentice start date has been confirmed.

It was revealed way back in February of 2014 that the new series – which will be the landmark tenth to have aired – won’t be starting until the AUTUMN.

And now we know exactly when it begins with a DOUBLE BILL launch on Tuesday October 14 and Wednesday 15 October.

Lord Sugar tweeted this week: “BREAKING: IT’S BACK! The Apprentice series 10 starts Tue 14 Oct episode1 & Wed 15 Oct episode2, then every Wednesday thereafter, 9pm @BBCOne”

There will also be a special tenth anniversary show airing on Monday night, October 13 on BBC One.

Lord Sugar tweeted: “Warm up for the new series of Apprentice with a 10-year special containing classic moments & characters”

Last year’s series ending up hitting highs of more than 6 million viewers on BBC One, proving to be a continued ratings hit despite having been on air for a decade now.

Applications for the latest series closed back in January of this year with filming having taken place over the Spring and Summer.

Finally! Can't wait, knew it was going to be after the World Cup but thought that meant like August-ish.

If they filmed over the Summer it'll be weird to see their 5/6am starts being light outside. Well, I'll find it weird anyway.

To be fair, the BBC did always say that the show would be back in the autumn.

As for the obvious differences in seasons, that's always been the case. For the last series, shown May to July, it was obvious from the start-of-episode early morning shots that the series had been shot in early autumn. For instance, the episode where the teams had to sell at the Motorhome & Caravan Show (somewhere in the middle of the series) can be dated to mid-October 2012, some 8 months or so before the episode actually aired.

I'm sure someone can correct me, but I think the filming for this series took place in the spring?

The filming started on roughly the 30th of April, and finished in late June/early July.

They are giving us candidate teasers! How exciting

We've had two so far...
https://www.facebook.com/BBCApprentice?fref=nf

The man's quote is a bit odd, huh?!

Maybe the full reveal will come sooner than normal this year?

They revealed the SCD cast about 4 days earlier than they normally do, and revealed them one by one, so maybe they'll do something similar with The Apprentice?

I can't wait to see the new canddiates, it's my favourite part of the run-up!

From the teasers, I think that the man is the black one in this photo:

and i think the woman is the black haired one in this photo:

Just a bit of fun speculation from the Filming Thread

I wonder if this means there's 20 candidates for the 10th series as I speculated earlier ”

Is a bigger number of candidates really a 'twist' though?

Unless they walked in mid-way through the briefing or something like that

I just dunno how they'd whittle down 20 candidates in 12 episodes though... Although it did look like there were 5 people in two of the subteams on the first task...

what do you think of the new 20 candidates set up? I think that it's too many but it does need something new. I guess that there will be three or four double firings which I can understand the rational of as often there are 2 people who deserve to go in previous series. There might be a triple firing as well for first time.

What? Has this been confirmed?

Looking back at the Filming Thread, I actually think it's quite evident that the 'twist' is that there are 20 candidates. I can see 2 male sub-teams and a female sub-team that consists of 5 members.

I am not sure how I feel about 20 candidates. The series will feel very rushed... to have 5 in the semi-final there will need to be five double firings from Week 1 to 10, which is going to be very rushed indeed.
Also each individual candidate will get less air time, and also there are only enough weeks for each xcandidate to be a PM once!

They'll need a bigger Boardroom table as well

I really hope this isn't the producers going 'all out' for the last series

If there really are 20 candidates this year, I wonder if we'll see Sugar top the record for the most candidates fired in one week? For reference the current record in any Apprentice incarnation (so far as I know) happened when Donald Trump got shot of four candidates at once in one of the US seasons.

5th candidate teaser!

Anyhow, I am not sure they'd do a quadruple firing... How would they fit them all on YF?!
