Judy v Scott or Gregg.
Scott or Gregg to go; Judy might survive for another week or two. |

For now, I am predicting Judy and Gregg with Gregg going. This could change after seeing everyone's second dances.

Gregg, most likely gone. However his BBC fanbase might surprise us.
Jennifer, Judy, Tim and Steve also in danger. Sunetra, depending on how low mid table she is and if it's a forgetable performance. I cant see Scott in danger, bottom of the leaderboard are most usually saved by the public if they have likeable personality and strong fanbase, which I think he has both. |

It must be Scott or Greg, surely. Both were painful to watch!

Gregg is going okay from the training video on ITT tonight, Judy and Scott -- not so much. Sunetra did not look so good either....

Has anyone met anyone who is a fan of Gregg yet? I can't believe he won't be in the bottom two. I would have thought Jennifer is a likely candidate too or Sunetra. I think Anton and the Scottish vote will pull Judy through for a few weeks.

I don't think it will be Judy vs Gregg...i think the latter is more likely to be bottom 2 along with someone in the middle of the leaderboard...who had a good enough dance on the night and it will be kind of "shocking" to see them there.

Those 5 celebs at the bottom have almost no chance to climb up the leaderboard this weekend (the best they could hope for is mid-20's, but I can't see anyone midtable scoring below 20 on Saturday; as their basic dance skills should be enough for a 22 points standard). Think it will be Tim vs. Jennifer. Scott has the audience votes, Gregg will probably do an entertaining dance (unlike Tony last year) and Judy is very controversial these days (which also scores good these days). Which leaves us with 2 boring ballroom dances. |

Apropos of nothing and ending up meaning nothing, the survival rates of the seven dances being done this weekend from best to worst :
---Best--- Foxtrot Cha Cha Charleston Tango Waltz Salsa American Smooth ---Worst--- |

Really surprised by this. A foxtrot with lifts (AS) does worse than a pure foxtrot! Can only assume the survival rates are not that indicative because the sample is small.

I think people overestimate the crowd-pleasing level of lifts - the dances with lifts in all have comparatively poor survival rates, and whenever we get a showdance full of lifts people always call it boring (see : Chelsee's showdance compared to Jason's for example).
(Part of the reason I suspect that foxtrot has a good survival rate is that it's quite generously scored at the bottom end of the quality scale - even Widdy managed to scrape a 20 in it) |

I think it's the way they shoehorn them in. Lifts should fit naturally into the choreography and not be some demonstration of strength/muscles.

For instance, in the last 3 series the score is 4-3 (AS/Foxtrot). And that is including Fusion week and a semi-final (in both instances, the AS was one of the combinations). Both Fiona (the flight attendant dance) and Rachel (the painting dance) went out on an AS last series. |

Always difficult to predict first dance off as it is often not the worst dancers but the least popular celeb or partnership. After last week the stompers Tim and Scott should be in the dance off with Julie and Gregg possibilities too. However Tim is appealing and Natalie has a big following so he could be safe. There is still another routine to see. Gregg looks promising if the training footage is an indicator and not just clever editing. Julie and Tim look worse in the training videos and Scott equally bad. Again the training videos could be early on in the week so that we are meant to think they are going to be awful. I hope Scott and Tim but it probably won't be.

Tennis players don't do very well. Monica Seles and Martina Navratilova didn't do well in DWTS. Martina Hingis out first on SCD.
I hope Anton's fanbase will pull Judy through. But on tennis players I am surprised as pre-show Seles was my favourite on the back of timing and footwork. Funny that Judy and Gregg were the only two I had heard of pre-show. ![]() Gregg is not a likeable character but the much better dancer of the pair so should be saved. |
