EE - Paul Trueman
Good to see Gary Beadle on Doctors today. Why on earth did they kill him off on EE? He is a great actor and it would be great to have him back as Paul. Think of the scenes between him and his dad and Denise and Ian. Witness protection?

For my money, probably the greatest character the show has produced this millenia.

Paul was an excellent character, a shame he was killed off.

He will be one of the ones I will always remember, and it is a massive shame that they killed him as there was still mileage in him, and he was one of my favourite characters at the time, however, I think that if they hadn't killed him off then he wouldn't be iconic and well remembered, but possibly ruined. Sometimes you need good characters to die so they are remembered and usually they have the better exits.

It's a shame they had Patrick ID the body as he could have come back like Jake Moon who was another good character who got bumped off screen but with Jake, it was never confirmed.

Think positive, there's always hope. |

It didn't stop Emmerdale bringing Kim Tate back, even after Frank had identified the body.
Think positive, there's always hope. |

I don't suppose Alfie's ever mentioned either of them since he returned?

No, it was Jake that killed Danny. Oh how I cheered.

Then Jake himself was killed?
Oh what a shame, I don't remember that at all. |

It was a mistake iirc. Johnny was dying and trying to get a message to Jake to kill someone - Phil maybe - but all he could manage was "Jake, kill him" and his cellmate helpfully passed this message on to Johnny's goons.

If Eastenders wanted him to return he could. The last time we seen him was leaving in a black cab. So who knows what happened. But he was involved with gangsters at the time so knows.

Patrick identified Paul's body. It's not like Jake Moon when his body never turned up. Paul's exit is still one of the best EE have ever done. It was so powerful. And Paul's death defines Patrick's character now.
Didn't he get killed off due to the actors off screen behaviour? |

His leaving episode was one of the best ever made, from my time watching, you could feel his panic at the situation and he had the biggest heart to heart with his Dad, who is still one of my favourites, I would welcome his return. EastEnders was in a great place when he was in it.
