Alison and Aljaz will be performing the Foxtrot to ‘I Just Wanna Make Love To You’ by Etta James.

Caroline and Pasha will be performing the Tango to ‘Blame’ by Calvin Harris and John Newman.

Frankie and Kevin will be performing the Charleston to the Happy Days theme.

Gregg and Aliona will be performing the Charleston to ‘Hey Good Looking’ by Ray Charles.

Jake and Janette will be performing the Salsa to ‘Mambo No 5’ by Lou Bega.

Jennifer and Tristan will be performing the Waltz to ‘Natural Woman’ by Aretha Franklin.

Judy and Anton will be perfoming the Cha Cha to ‘She's a Lady’ by Tom Jones.

Mark and Karen will be performing the American Smooth to ‘I’m Yours’ by Jason Mraz!

Pixie and Trent will be performing the Waltz to ‘Come Away With Me’ by Norah Jones.

Scott and Joanne will be performing the Tango to ‘Stop!’ by the Spice Girls.

Simon and Kristina will be performing the Tango to ‘Sing’ by Ed Sheeran.

Steve and Ola will be performing the Cha Cha to ‘Treasure’ by Bruno Mars.

Sunetra and Brendan will be performing the Cha Cha to “Million Dollar Bill” by Whitney Houston.

Thom and Iveta will be performing the Salsa to ‘Hot Hot Hot’ by Arrow.

Tim and Natalie will performing the Waltz to ‘When You Wish Upon a Star’.

The BBC has revealed the dance styles and songs for Week 2. We now know Jake is doing the Salsa! IMO some really poor song choices here especially for the Tango, think the Calvin Harris is the only one that could really work ok. Some recycled choices as well

All of the Tango are choices are abysmal... I don't know what Joanne's trying to do to Scott but it certainly ain't help him.

Other than that, a good list. I see Hot Hot Hot is finally being re-used.

Looks like Jake is going to have another 'Max Branning sleeps around a lot' storyline to his dance then!

I'm already imagining the disappointment at Thom and Iveta using Mark and Karen's Salsa song. It was bad enough when Harry and Aliona used 'I'm Still Standing'.

And I concur with the opinion that the Tango songs are AWFUL.

I thought that about the Scott/Joanne song too.

This comes up every year, but I think the last I heard I was that the pros are given a couple of songs to pick from by the producers, or vice versa.

And you can imagine the reception it will get if its a very poor imitation.

Stop could work if they change the music a little (a lot)

I'm not really one for gimmicky dances, but I hope Natalie goes the whole hog and has Tim dressed as Pinocchio to her Geppetto.

Must have been an abysmal list if Jo chose THAT so dont believe it with a few exceptions the musisc choices are awful and do not believe anyone with dance experience chose them

Happy days (a show about the fifiies) for a Charleston???? the other two tango choices as dire as Stop too - very disappointed with most of those choices - I despair

My thoughts exactly.

Unless at some point it was remixed into something remotely resembling the right rhythm for a CD single and they are using that version?

I'm thinking Disney (When you wish upon a Star) and the Coca-Cola commercial of the guy without the shirt (I Just Wanna Make Love To You). And the song choice for Scott and Joanne just baffles me......

That would be a fun ITT game - we all have to guess what the other song was the pro was offered, that was worse than the one they chose. (Wouldn't it be brilliant if just once Zoe would go to a couple - 'So that song, whose fault was that?')

I think the most interesting comparison is going to be Jake v Thom. I don't think either of them are in any danger for a while, but it could be a good sign of how things are going to go later on and both seem to be quietly confident about their hips. Both seem to me to have OK songs, as someone who wouldn't know a salsa song if it bit me. And my impression is that it's much better to have Strictly's version of a salsa than Strictly's version of a cha cha, for getting votes.

Otherwise it's all a bit disco or saccharine.

When I heard Alison was doing the foxtrot I knew it would be to I Just Want to Make Love to You. It's a great song but a bit of an obvious choice and I hope it doesn't end up being too cheesy. Aljaz is unbelievably gorgeous but if they push the 'OMG, how can Alison keep her big woman's hands off him' thing too much it will become tiresome.

Most of the other songs are terrible choices. Given that Steve is fascinated by Latin American culture they could at least give him Latin American songs. Bruno Mars and Jason Mraz are just naff, weedy, reedy pops songs.

Poor Scott has been well and truly shafted. Just because he's gay doesn't mean he has to do an effete tango to the Spice effin' Girls. Give the man a proper tango song for god's sake.

Stop! really is a dreadful choice for a tango... I could see it used for a Cha Cha (at a push) but for it just seems a bizarre choice for a tango!!

Come Away with Me belongs to John Sergeant and Kristina. Can't believe they are gonna recycle that song.

I can't wait for Caroline's and Pasha's Tango I love the Song. Pasha does good Tangos. I know DWTS uses Club/EDM music for Tangos but I LOVE IT. Natalie and Artem's Ballroom Tango is a guilty pleasure of mine

A bit unimaginative but not off-the-scale bad for those producers. Usual mix of mosquito-whine singers and recycled songs. Where they pick a good or a great singer, they then spoil it by choosing one of their most familiar songs. Hoh well

I am going to echo everyone and say 'Stop' for a tango

Geez Joanne! was that really the best of the songs you were given?

waaaaay to happy and bouncy to be a tango - unless the band give it a 'tango twist'

the choice must have been dire (even if there was a choice) no one would pick that song for a tango - equally who would pick happy days for charleston a song from a fiftes themed tv show - but looking at the majority of comments posters will blame the pro regardless
