Someone on the EE community forum has said they were told by EE that wifi calling was designed to work on iOS 7 and it would work with the older iPhone models.
Although I think several of us have been told things by EE advisors that are not correct! |

Well it appears WiFi calling disables calling continuity (being able to make or receive calls through your Mac or iPad via your iPhone).
Damn..... I only used that for the first time yesterday and thought it was pretty cool. See the 5th pic on this page... http://www.howtoisolve.com/how-to-us...e-ipad-enable/ |

It won't be that late.. They are very close to launch, several large business customers are already using (testing) it. Unforeseen technical issues when they are one of only two wifi calling networks in the world is hardly a reason to call them liars..
The 5C/S yes. |

It's just a shame that EE can't give us more information, that would at least keep some of happy for a while.
Obviously there is information available as you have been able to answer that the service will be available on the 5c/5s. I have a 4s and in some places I have read it will be available on the 4s and in other places I have read it won't be. I am also interested to know whether it will only be available on certain contracts as I don't want to sign up to a new contract then find out is not available. I would have thought that this is the sort of information EE would already have an answer to and would give people like me the chance to go out and buy new phones so that we are ready for the release date. My intention is to pass my 4s on to someone else and sign into a new contract, both of us would need wifi calling. Although having now read that BT are going back into mobile's through EE's network and with wifi calling, I am tempted to wait to see what deal's they have if EE wifi calling is not going to be available soon. |

Is it only iPhones that will be able to use wifi calling?
If this is the case and signal boxes have been discontinued where does this leave android/windows users? |

If this is the case and signal boxes have been discontinued where does this leave android/windows users? So in theory and iPhone that will run iOS8 can do it... BUT... EE or Apple can decide to block it on a per handset basis of course! |

So anyone know, if I have a signal box and WiFi calling, will WiFi calling override the cellular even if the cellular signal is strong?
I'm guessing it will since while it's designed to make our lives better, it also offloads a huge amount of traffic from the macro network, thereby allowing EE to use more 1800 spectrum for 4G, thereby making our lives better.......... See what they did there!

I've lost interest in this now. An update on expected launch from EE would be nice!

Its arrived. Its made by Cisco. Its pure white with just the EE logo on it. Its more of a upright box then the old one. Its still gives you the beeping noise when you connect to it. You just need to plug it in and call CS. No need to register any numbers its just open. Even my wife's Virgin mobile picked it up. Data wise it just gives you HSDPA speeds around 9 Meg at. best. The range on it seems to be better then the old one.
Is there a model number on it? |

So does that mean someone passing just outside your house could end up connected to it? Or is the range not quite that good?
