People with slower broadband should in theory be able to make it break up, which Devon is trying to prove Those with faster broadband have a much harder time.
It is amazing though JC. With the Signalbox I would end up running round the house turning off computers and Netflix while shouting (pointless on digital but we still do it) at the person the other end that the call would get better in a minute, which eventually it did and they would say "Oh, yes, I can hear you now".

With WC I can have a download and an upload going at the same time (not something that happens a lot to be honest) and still the voice call (while not good quality) is continuous.
Brilliant.

[quote=enapace;77613133]True but that is the price I suppose you have to pay for a brilliant package. One of the big reasons I went with iPhone this time is because it brings it together so well at moment.

Thanks enpace

i take it you are on a EE branded iphone?

No I have an unlocked iPhone 6 it works with WiFi Calling fine though and can't see why it won't work with VoLTE when it launches later this year.

No such thing as a branded iPhone.

Apple purchased iPhone & CPW iPhone both working with Wifi calling here, so as suggested before hand all iPhones at least activated in the UK will work, from 5C upwards.

My Apple-bought sim only (12 month contract) iPhone 6 Plus on 4GEE has the option showing up in Settings -> Phone -> Wifi Calls.
I'm on EE sim only 1 month and got it
Great to see that VoWiFi is supported on EE SIMO as well as handset plans, but a shame that - as described on page 59 ( http://forums.digitalspy.co.uk/showt...014378&page=59 ) - it is not supported on pre-pay.

Hope people haven't experienced too many dropped calls when moving out of a WiFi zone!

Incidentally, from looking at screenshots, it seems the new 2G/3G/4G toggle in iOS 8.3 only refers to the preferred network technology. This is different from the 'LTE Only' ('4G Only') being a distinct option to 'LTE Preferred' ('4G Preferred') on certain Android handsets when using *#*#4636#*#* . That will be useful for iPhone 6 and 6 Plus (and successor) owners when VoLTE launches as by then EE's LTE coverage will be very comprehensive.

That toggle seems to be iOS 8.3 specific, on my 8.1.1, I don't seem to get it, only caveat so far.

I have multiple access points in my house and can confirm that handover between them works seamlessly with wifi calling with my iPhone 6. Most other streams have a brief drop out when switching between but the wifi call remains crystal clear. Not sure if it makes a difference that they're all Airport Extremes, but I'm guessing it won't. They're connected by Ethernet.

The wifi network at work is very weak and slow, and must not be up to scratch as wifi calling won't work through it. It's a direct adsl and basic set up, so it's not any portal etc that's stopping it. The phone and EE must not consider the connection quality to be high enough to allow it.

All working at home last night on my Galaxy S5, doesn't seem to be working this morning at work, although it might have stopped working anyway. I work with the network here so will check if anything's being filtered or blocked!

Or that it's a router that has problems dealing with IPsec, as some do

I texted wificalling to 150 but got a text back from EE saying sorry, we can't add WiFi calling to your EE plan. But when I called EE the guy in tier 2 tech support told me it looks like WiFi is up and running on my phone and I have a WiFiCall logo next to the EE logo and signal bar on my phone screen. Has anyone else experienced this problem? How do I know if my calls are actually WiFi or not now?

Well if you have the WiFi call logo next to the EE logo, that's your answer isn't it?

Put the phone in airplane mode. Turn wifi back on. EEWiFiCall should display next to the airplane symbol. Make a call. If it connects, you're setup for WC!
Strictly speaking, no need to do all that as you already have the new carrier name, but it's just fun to play with 😁.

Great thanks so much Eddy. You know more than the techies at EE who didn't know if the WiFi symbol meant it was on or not. I guess that means Airplane mode doesn't work anymore with WiFi calling activated. I guess that may cause a few problems on flights

The WiFi calling settings are different for every network. With iPhones Apple can push these settings with a carrier update, but with android they need to exist in the ROM itself. That's why say for example a Samsung S6 ROM with an EE CSC should work, but if it was Three's ROM then it wouldn't.

This may begin to change in android 5.1, we have to wait and see how Google change WiFi calling in android when they start there own network.

I'm wondering if it's possible to extract whatever makes it work in lollipop on the s5 and port it to other android phones...
