Oh give me Jake over the other guys any day.

There's something about him....and boy is he a refreshing change to all the muscles, tan and shiny teeth.

Shift Mark and Thom down into Dark Horse section. Otherwise I agree.

Contenders
Frankie & Kevin - won't win too good for a first dance and Kevin's Grimsby charm is wearing thin. Her mother is a ballroom dance teacher
Caroline & Pasha - very good to watch If ballroom is good then possible winner
Pixie & Trent - annoying couple, Pixie seems to have a problem with communication
Simon & Kristina - very good jive possible winner
Thom & Iveta - like this couple too. He could win
Jake and Janette - she's a fabulous dancer, he's not too shabby he's not Very likeable though

Dark Horses
Mark & Karen - like this couple, he's one to watch the journey
Alison and Alijaz possible winners. The girl can dance
Steve & Ola - he's very good and personable don't mind Ola either they have a chance

No Chance
Sunetra & Brendan - she's very annoying and not great at dancing
Jennifer & Tristan
Judy & Anton
Scott & Joanne
Tim & Natalie
Gregg & Aliona

I agree with 99%, but not sure about Alison &Tim. For now I've put Alison in the Dark Horse box, and Tim somewhere in between D.H. and no chance.

Pixie & Trent
Simon & Kristina

Dark Horses
Alison & Aljaz
Mark & Karen
Steve & Ola
Sunetra & Brendan (though I really think she has no chance of winning whatsoever)
Thom & Iveta

No Hopers
Gregg & Aliona
Jennifer & Tristan
Judy & Anton
Scott & Joanne
Tim & Natalie”

That would be my ratings as well. I can't understand why so many posters are putting Thom in as a contender. Poor last week, and nothing special in his training VT's. Good looking guy, but I don't think he will have a massive fan base.
It's still early days, but it looks to be out of Frankie and Simon for me.

Contenders:
Jake & Janette
Frankie & Kevin
Caroline & Pasha

-Obvious three to go far really.

Good But Won't Win:
Pixie & Trent - They're good dancers but my goodness I can't warm to them at all. They both seem too 'perfect'.
I can see them scoring well with the judges but not the public.

Dark Horses:
Mark & Karen
Thom & Iveta
Simon & Kristina
Sunetra & Brendan Alison & Aljaz - Both seem to be getting on very well and Aljaz is producing routines that show the best of Alison. They maybe won't win but can see them lasting a while
Steve & Ola - Can seem him improving as the series goes on and he seems to be embracing it which'll count in his favour.

The first 4 are not necessarily clear contendors yet I think all of them have already shown some potential and could well win (helped by not scoring too highly too early) and be the 'journey' contestants.
Mark in particular I wouldn't be surprised to see winning.

NO Hopers:
Scott & Joanne
Tim & Natalie - I can seem them staying in a few weeks and they're a likable duo and seem good friends already but can't see them winning.
Judy & Anton
Jennifer & Tristan
Gregg & Aliona

I'd probably predict a final 4 at the moment of Jake & Janette, Caroline & Pasha, Pixie & Trent (who I can't see the judges sending home) and Mark & Karen.
And probably either Jake & Janette or Mark & Karen as winners.

This year after watching the first week, I see four strong possibles and a dodgy dark horse.
My four possibles are Frankie, Caroline, Pixie and Simon. The dark horse is Jake. I would like to see Frankie dance a latin before making my mind up as by doing the waltz, as long as she kept her frame and posture right, she couldn't really go wrong but if she dances latin as well as her waltz then I reckon she will be 'last two'. I think Caroline may be just a bit too 'leggy' (I lurveeee long legs lol) and Pixie will do well but for my winner this year I think it will be yet another male and that is Simon. I loved his jive and his attitude afterwards.”

To try and keep my record going, after two weeks I am going to go with PIxie, Caroline and Jake in the final with Caroline winning.

Broadly agreeing about most of these, but Thom. Surely he's a complete no hoper.
He looks awful, lacks any redeeming personality and dances poorly.

A matter of opinion - I don't watch Eastenders (I am aware of some of the characters including his) but have surprised myself by really liking him in Strictly. I like that he is fairly quiet but comes alive on the dancefloor, and is full of praise for his partner. He's not what I would have expected at all and better for it!

Funnily enough most of the people got at least three of the four finalists as contenders, with ThenetworkBabe and Poppysinbloom getting it spot on.

I wonder if we are going to be as accurate this year.

Contenders
Frankie & Kevin - good dancer, popular pro, likeable
Caroline & Pasha - good dancer, popular pro, likeable
Pixie & Trent - good dancer
Simon & Kristina - good dancer
Mark & Karen - good looking (debatable) and not hopeless dancer
Thom & Iveta - good looking (debatable) and not hopeless dancer

Dark Horses
Jake & Janette
Steve & Ola
Sunetra & Brendan

No Chance
Alison & Aljaz
Jennifer & Tristan
Judy & Anton
Scott & Joanne
Tim & Natalie
Gregg & Aliona

I know we only have seen them dance once, but since we were quite accurate, I wonder if we can also be it a second year running.”

Is Caroline Flack likeable?
And no way is Thom a contender!

biggest thing against some of the contenders and whilst I think Caroline is good - I don't think she has the likeability to win it still too early for me to predict winners (though agree with most of the contenders on here) IF Janettes ballroom is ok then front runner has to be Jake but until I see their waltz jury is out

I find Jake sexually attractive - can't stand pretty boys like Thom and his dancing is shite, too, lol. Love a bit of rough (Jake) or sexy body and fun (Aljaz), ideally in possession of a sharp mind. Sometimes that doesn't collate with a bit of rough but you can't have everything

Alijaz is a qualified Doctor back in his country, it seems--doncha wish he was YOURS and asked you to strip?? Then tangoed you?? That'd cure EVERYTHING, IMO!

I agree, now. But first week wasn't too bad and considering his looks and persona could have been if he had been actually better dancer.

I think she is very likeable, but maybe I am wrong. I did find tom chambers and abbey really likeable too, I think she has a similarly bubbly personality that may alienate some but appeal some others. I find Pixie and Frankie robotic both of them and can't bring myself to like either of them, even if I apreciate they are good dancers.
On the strictly history, personalities like Carolina have done better than like pixie. But pixie may blossom later on.

I do like pretty boys. To look at them. But Thom is just weird boring robotic personality.

Here's my thoughts -
Contenders:
Frankie & Kevin
Caroline & Pasha
Simon & Kristina

Good But Won't Win:
Pixie & Trent - I don't think they're likeable enough and too good already to have 'The Journey'.

Dark Horses with Good Potential:
Jake & Janette - not sure he's going to keep his salsa standard up, we'll see! So not sure to definitely put him as a top contender.
Mark & Karen - I find him likeable
Alison & Aljaz - Love this partnership already and seeing a different side to Aljaz
Steve & Ola - I find them really fun and likeable

Dark Horses who won't get there -
Thom & Iveta
Sunetra & Brendan

NO Hopers:
Scott & Joanne
Tim & Natalie
Judy & Anton
Jennifer & Tristan - shame as I quite like Tristan so far, seems really likeable.

Gone!
Gregg & Aliona
