I think it's a shame for the character to die because she's always been the least dodgy of the entire family but always got the roughest deal of all of them save for currently JP.

However, I do think her death would have a bigger impact on the family for that reason and it would be reason enough for Mercedes to leave (I'm still convinced it's a temporary exit)

Why Carmel? If anyone deserves a happy ending, it's her. Oh hang on, it's Hollyoaks, there is no such thing as a happy ending.

I thought Carmel would be the one to die. Mercedes had do many near death experiences that it wouldn't have that much effect if she did die, Carmel is the nice and sweet one of the family, and her death would definitely have the most effect.

Shame about Carmel. Glad about Sonny dying though.

FFS why Carmel? She doesn't deserve to die, Sonny yes kill him off. But Carmel? I love the Mcqueens so for them to kill her of like this really is shite. :/ I'd have liked to see her back at a later date.

Seriously though with Jaqcui gone and Mercy going, no amount of new McQueens is going to replace the originals who've brought so much to the show for years.

I'm not happy they are killing Carmel. She's had such a tragic life for someone who wants to live life the legit way and be happy. She's always been dragged into tragic events. If they did also kill Mercy I would actually stop watching the show!

That is why they have brought in carbon copies to take the place of Carmel and Mercedes. There will be more deaths. It won't be Tegan or Ziggy as it looks like they will have sex in the lift and start an affair. Whoever comes to rescue them is in line for the chop.

Yeah, craftily they did copies of both Mercedes and Carmel so we wouldn't know for sure who was going to die.

I never thought Mercedes would die because she left last time for pan to season. I think the actress has been on the show too long for any shot at other parts. I think they will bring her back after about 6 months and start again.

Yeah they will just like tersea. Jen Metcalfe isn't a great actress i don't see her doing a 'Suranne Jones' She'll be back with her tail between her legs before long.
Wish they would kill Mercedes off. She is like Charity in Emmerdale, NEVER gets her comeuppance always ends up smelling of roses.

I'm quite glad it's Carmel - I wanted her to die in the church explosion instead of Tina - watching it all again she was very unlikeable!

I am afraid both Mercedes and Carmel grate on me. They are a bit like the Marilyn Monroe stereotype of women who are made just for the pleasure of men. Of course the male actors are the same for the women viewers: they take off their shirts at the slightest instigation. I knew Jim wouldn't last as soon as I saw his pot bellie.

And I won't miss Carmel one bit, but I was hoping that Fit But Rubbish Copper Sonny would leave with little Kathleen Angel.

Ooh, that Dirk! Clearly brought in for this reason! Really hope Rick gets an emotional storyline so he's allowed to put his clothes back on. They did it a bit with Patrick when he first came in until he started beating Maxine.

More deaths Hollyoaks really is the most unsafe soap/place ever, it has more deaths then syria.
