OK thanks, Carmel and Sonny will probably be in the car and the Blakes on the train

Liam you ruined this for me and probably others by not doing a spoiler title. All you needed to write was "Hollyoaks Spoiler" for the title. You're quite new so maybe you didn't know but please do a spoiler title next time

OP says 'she says' door isn't being left open. I just thought the actress had had enough. It will be interesting to find out. Usually the door is shut if the producers didn't want the actor to leave or the actor asked to be killed off as a clean break.

Don't even know what to say, makes me wish I could go back in time and watch the original McQueen family again. They were all brilliant and Carmel was so hilarious, from works with Louise to getting it on with Alek, putting John Paul on a dating website, couldn't imagine at that time that anyone would even think of her being killed off and if this really is true then its the biggest shame. Carmel and Mercedes have both been through the mill and I would so prefer them two to leave together and meet Jacqui and end in a comedic way fighting and just enjoying themselves but alas this is soap and so dreams are dashed! Don't know whether I want to watch those episodes now, was bad enough when Tina died and that was 6 years ago! Carmel going, just not gonna be the same at all :/

This makes sense.

I'm sad about Carmel but at the same time I'm not. I think Hollyoaks will be gone within four years so the chances of her being able to return anyone are slim. imho. The shows biggest talents would do wise to get out now while they can.

I used to like Carmel and felt she deserved some happiness...finally! But after forgetting Jim ever existed to shack up with her dead husbands brother just made me remember, oh yeah, your just another slaggy McQueen!

that's not correct, the door will be left open if the producers don't want the actor to leave so that they can get them back in at a later date. My guess is that the producers decided not to renew her contract for some reason (I can only speculate what that might be) and hoped that her death would add interest and excitement

No. If you read the spoilers people are posting, the McQueens are off to Porche McQueens wedding on the train and Patrick has something to do with the car.
