Does that mean that they intend to launch the horror channel on freeview next week?

Actually the 8th Doctor one it the movie so its not actually an omnibus!

TBH Drama or Really should be showing more Doctor Who episodes that the UKTV company have the rights to, eg the new series' 1, 2, 3 and 4 at least (Really showed Series 3 with Tennant's Doctor and Martha), maybe even into series 5 and 6.
Watch repeat the new ones all the time from series 1-6 and they even show the Christmas specials sometimes (rarely though).

I meant convoluted compared with watching television. Maybe I could add chrome (for Ubuntu?) and install something but ".. plex via my ROKU box.." means nothing to me!

It's the last millenium's Doctor Who I'm interested in seeing, not just anything shown on Horror though I'd give it a try.

What is the good news?
That link just shows the licence for TV Cable and Satellite, nothing to do with Freeview.

DTPS licence = Digital Television Programme Service = Licence to broadcast on digital terrestrial TV (Freeview)
TLCS licence = Television Licensable Content Service = Licence to broadcast on cable/satellite.
This is a new DTPS licence.

Some channels have separate entries for the main channel, the +1 and the HD variant.

More 4 (+1) (HD) seems to be all 3 services grouped together, yet the other C4 channels aren't. So, does More 4 HD have a licence to broadcast on Freeview then?

Yes.

Although you won't find a similar grouping for the main Channel 4 service, simply because main Channel 4 service doesn't have a DTPS licence - it has the broadcasting licence for the fourth channel, which like the licences for ITV, S4C and Channel 5 main services are different to DTPS licences.

Yes - which is why we should never take a licence to broadcast on DTT as confirmation that it will. That More4HD licence (amongst others) has existed for years without any fruition of the channel itself.

In general, however, the granting of such licences is indeed an indicator that the channel will probably launch in the next few months,

To be fair, the page title is confusing (ie. wrong), which I hadn't realised when I posted the link.

However, there's a clue in the licence number: DTPS100822BA/1

Nice news that finally The Horror channel has got a licence to be on DTT / Freeview .
Now were in the EPG will it go ?
The space may come from the BT Sports channels as they are not needed as BT has them on there freeview/BT youview system along with Virgin Sky and Internet.

I fear that the Horror Channel will become even less 'Horror' now that it has Freeview space and it will be full of even more old Doctor Who episodes

Horror Channel used to be full of hidden gems and B movies which made it stand out but these days it's full of mainstream films that can be found on every other channel and crappy kids tv series.

The Doctor Who bit is good and I'm hoping they will do more the 45 stories they have done so far are good but its time for some new ones!

These days it's more of a cult/fantasy channel before 9pm.

they should just do CBS 1 on freeview, pick some shows from the current channels, and add some new ones, Late Night with that bloke from Gavin and Stacey being an option

They is no need to change shows to come onto freeview they have been on Freesat, Sky and Virgin for years and no need of any change was needed as they grew from platform to platform.
They have watered them self's down over years and put most movies after 10pm as they put on shows like star trek, hulk, wonder woman and dr who day time.

Most old satellite TV channels worked on the 8pm water shed and worked with being behind a card systems like sky movies did when on DTT and now on youview with software .

Remember that even national and sister channels play out horror films etc

Horror channel goes on past 4am so lots of air time to show horror..

Doctor Who did have horror elements so the channel is right to show it.

Just because you dont like Doctor Who doesn't mean Horror shouldn't show it.
