TUESDAY JANUARY 13

INTRO - Lykke Li - Guns
In seperate rooms Cindy, Holly and Dirk - Jack, Frankie, Esther and Tom - Myra, Nana and Phoebe - Darren and Jason all watch the news report about 'the girl' now identified as Maya Daniels.

INT. The McQueens - Myra, Phoebe and Nana watch TV with fish and chips

MYRA
No, no it can't be

PHOEBE
Myra what's wrong?

Nana looks horrified as the family of the girl walk on to the screen



INT. The Osbornes - Jack and Ester watch the news as Tom does homework

A horrified Jack immediately grabs his phone as Esther observes Tom shuffling uncomfortably in his seat

JACK
Darren, are you watching the news?




INT. The Savages - Holly, Dirk and Cindy are under the duvet on the sfa

Holly hugs up to Cindy as the family sit down. Cindy realises that she knows them.

CINDY
Oh my god! I know them! She used to be my English teacher

HOLLY
What?

CINDY
Marilyn Daniels. I used to go out with her son!

INT. The Roscoes - Darren is ironing his shirt whilst on the phone. Jason is sat on the floor in front of the sofa.

Darren walks back over to Jason as he hangs up the phone. Jason focuses on Daniel who is sat behind a desk with his parents Marylin (Eva Pope) and Alan (Craig Fairbass)

In the newsoom the devasted family are all teary eyed. Alan is shaking with anger whilst Eva is unable to speak. Dougie takes to the microphone and informs the public that his sister is in a coma. He tells them about her - her love for animals, her favourite colour, he tells the audience that she also lives with aspergers syndrome and as such is very introverted. He ends the appeal pleading for any witnesses or anyone with any idea what may have happened in the days leading up to her fall.

After the cameras stop rolling the family are talking to the press as Myra and Nana quietly enter the room. Eva catches Myras eye and gives a sad smile before telling the press they're done talking. They quietly approach the Daniels and Alan immediately gives Myra a tight and extensive hug whilst Nana and Marylin hug each other.

MYRA
(grabbing Daniels face)
You don't half look like your brother

Daniel looks at his parents, unsure. Alan reminds Daniel of who Myra is - she's been friends with Alan since they were at school. Alan explains that he introduced Myra to the father of her two of her daughters (Jacqui and Mercedes).

MARYLIN
Myra, I am so so sorry we couldn't get to the funeral. I spoke to your Jacqui and the flights have just been -

NANA
None of that now, we're here for your little girl. What on earth happened?

MARYLIN
I wish we knew. Apparently one of her school mates just found her, just there, half dead we thought (holding back tears) she was meant to be in Breacon on a school trip

Daniel tells his parents he is going to leave and they tell him they'll meet him at the hospital later. Nana takes Marylin to sit down and calm down whilst Myra stays with Alan. She tells him it's good to see him and sad that it's under such circumstances. She asks how the other kids are doing and he tells her that 'not much has changed'.

In the village Esther and Tom are leaving Price Slice as they bump in to Phoebe. They discuss the news report and Phoebe says that Myra knows the family with Esther adding that they used to live around the area - she asks if she's heard from Dougie but nobody has. Tom sees Holly coming from the distance and makes his excuses before rushing off down the alley leaving Esther confused. As Holly and Cindy approach the girls Esther asks if she's okay. Holly tells Esther that Tom is avoiding her and asks her to get him to get in touch.

Back at halls, Daniel returns from the hospital and is greeted by Ross, Nina and Jason. Nina has failed hard at baking him a cake and tells him she didn't know what else to do.

ROSS
I bought Vicar of Dibley at the charity shop. We can watch the one with all the Christmas dinners and I'll be the vicar and you can be Alice because you're better at Alice even though I look more like her

DOUGIE
You do look like Alice

ROSS
On this occasion I accept

DOUGIE
Don't do that

ROSS
Noted

Dougie pretends briefly to enjoy the cake before spitting it out and making a joke about the cooking. He skips off to his room and Ross and Nina exchange a look of concern before mouthing 'three...two...one...' to each other. Dead silence follows. They're confused...and then a tremendous amount of noise as Dougie smashes up his room before springing back out and near on leaping out of the door.

Over at the hospital Cameron is being released and Leela has gone to see that he is okay. She and Tegan immediately begin fighting over the fact that Leela is helping him and Leela in the heat of the moment asks Tegan whether she attacked Cameron. As they're leaving Tegan tells Cameron that she will prove that it was him that killed their parents. Outside the hospital Leela sees Esther and asks whether Tom is friends with Maya but she isn't sure. Leela tells her that Peri is devastated and wont stop crying. Esther makes her excuses and leaves.

Holly goes up to Patricks flat to see whether he's had any updates and says that they should go and see the family. He gets snappy with her as he has more important things to worry about but he soon apologises before informing her that he has to meet with the school board to discuss the 'remarkably high' number of incidences that have occured under his supervision at the school

Jason walks in to the gym and sees Dougie using a punch bag rather intensely. He cautiously approaches him and actively avoids the topic of his sister. Within seconds Dougie calls him out on it.

DOUGIE
I know what you're doing

JASON
I aint doing anything

DOUGIE
You reckon by acting normal I'll just start opening up. I don't really have anything to say - someone, somewhere knows either why my sister jumped or who pushed her because what was she doing on that roof? What was a fourteen year old doing up on a school roof on a weekend, on her own? She can't have been!

Dougie smashes the punch bag once more before heading to the changing room. Jason follows and is uncomfortable at seeing everyones bodies. Dougie is quiet as he gets changed and Jason is taken back by how Dougie has no issue getting naked. Dougie asks Jason if he's going to bother having a shower and when he says no he makes a joke about him being smelly. As Dougie leaves Jason stares at himself in the mirror before storming out.

AD BREAK

Alan is buying drinks at the bar. He tells Jack that Marylin is at the hospital but he can't face being there anymore and seeing Maya in that condition. He turns to walk back to Myra and Nana and freezes in his tracks as Jude, Cindy and Dirk walk in. He and Jude exchange a look of shock before she looks down at the floor and dashes to the toilet.
CINDY
Mr Daniels...

ALAN
Bleedin' hell! Little Cindy Cunningham can't believe you're still around here

CINDY
Neither can I sometimes. I just wanted to say - you know -

ALAN
Thank you

CINDY
It was my daughter Holly she found her, um, Maya she found - - I just, I hope she gets better

ALAN
She will. She's a fighter.

Alan goes to join The McQueen women as Cindy heads over to where Darren is stood. Dirk takes Hilton outside as he is crying.

DARREN
I wonder where Greg is. Probably prison

CINDY
Darren! That's horrible

DARREN
Err you do remember why they all left in the first place? Because of that little psychopath

CINDY
He was not a psycho he was just...confused

DARREN
Cindy he stole Tonys moped then tried to use it to blow up the science department

CINDY
Yeah...well...you slept with a psycho!

DARREN
But we're friends now aren't we sweetheart

Cindy storms off and crashes into a sheepish Jude who exchanges another glare with Alan, this time Darren twigs

At The Magic Bean Phoebe has joined Ross and Nina who are talking about Dougie. Holly walks in with Patrick causing Phoebe to stare. Patrick asks if there's a problem but she flashes a less than sincere smile before texting Holly and asks what she's doing with him. Holly ignores the message and pulls out her school books thanking Patrick for the distraction.

Upstairs at The Dog Esther begins talking about Maya and asking Tom questions about her saying she is worried that she attempted suicide and maybe she should go and visit her. Esther decides that is going to and asks Tom if he'll come but he says he has homework. Esther tells him that school only started back that week and can't have that much - she says she'll help him. Realising that shes not going to back down Tom reluctantly agrees to visit Maya.

Leela is up at Judes flat with Cameron and makes jokes about the state of the place. Cameron tells her to stop and she calls him out for being too sensitive.

CAMERON
No, Leela, stop this. All of this. Stop acting like everything is normal

Leela is lost for words

CAMERON
I killed your parents

LEELA
Cameron...

CAMERON
I killed them Leela. It was an accident, a horrible accident and I think about it every single moment of every single day but it's the truth. I did it. I killed them.

LEELA
Stop it...

CAMERON
They are dead because of me. Why don't you hate me?!

Leela begins breathing heavily and tugging her hands through her hair trying to calm down. He keeps goading her and eventually she snaps, smashing everything off of the shelves in the flat

LEELA
I hate you! I hate you! You have ruined everything! Peri - our daughter - will never, ever trust me again! She has lost two of the most amazing people from her life because of you!

Leela begins to calm down

LEELA
I'm not going to let her lose another set of parents

Cameron looks at her as if he knows what she means and they quietly and calmly begin pickng up the pieces

At The Dog Jude is stood outside on her own. Darren comes to join and gives her the once over - but ten times. She asks what he wants

DARREN
I know it was about twenty years ago so I might be a bit off but if I remember right didn't Greg Daniels go mental because he found his Dad in bed with another bird whilst his Mum was in hospital with his little brother?

JUDE
How am I meant to know what?

DARREN
You see working in a bar and being a smooth operator like myself, you get to understand what little looks mean and well I'm not a gambling man or at least I'm not anymore but I'd put money on you being the woman in question

Jude spins and around and gives Darren the darkest of looks

DARREN
I guess that whole 'older man' thing is genetic then hey

Over at the hospital Esther is talking to an unconscious Maya whilst Tom fidgets uncomfortably beside her. She talks about her suicide attempt and how it's not the right answer. Esther soon goes to get a drink leaving Tom with Maya. Tom grabs hold of her hand and begins crying tellingher that he is sorry and he wishes he could have stopped this from happening. Marylin cuts him off as she enters the room and tells him it's time to go now.

Jason is staring at himself in the mirror as Dougie comes in to his room. Jason quickly covers up his body but relaxes when he sees that it's Dougie. He tells him that his head is a mess and he can't deal with everyone else right now. Jason says he can stay if he wants and puts the TV on.

Back at the hospital Esther grabs Tom as he looks through the window at Maya she tells him she heard what he said and wants to know everything he knows

END CREDITS

Post credits Jason and Dougie lay on top of the sheets side by side as a film plays. Dougie has fallen asleep whilst Jason stares at the ceiling for a moment before turning the TV off and closing his eyes.

WEDNESDAY JANUARY 14TH

Intercut scenes Jason wakes up with Dougie still sleeping next to him. Robbies bed in still made. Jude walks out of the coffee shop with Holly and bumps straight in to Alan who is instantly awkward with her. Marilyn spots the interaction from the hospital door. Tom is hiding under his covers as Esther checks on him in the morning.

INT. THE DOG LIVING ROOM

Nancy is making Charlies lunch for school and calls for Tom to get ready. Frankie tells Nancy she'll be back in a minute she's just got to go and sign for a delivery. Esther tells Nancy that Toms not well and he wont be going to school today.

NANCY
I suppose there is that bug going around at the minute. Apparently Peri's been off all week too

ESTHER
That's probably why Tom can't get hold of her

NANCY
Well you know what teenage girls are like, can't look all red nosed and drippy in front of your friends

ESTHER
Right

NANCY
Esther, is everything okay?

Esther is clearly hiding something but Frankie dashes in and sweeps Charlie along to get to school, telling the girls she's taking Carley shopping. Esther points out that Carley isn't actually related to her. Frankie gives her a scoulding look before continuing out of the door.

ESTHER
That girl, erm, Maya - it just got me thinking like what if she jumped? And I just feel -

NANCY
Helpless? Believe me Esther I remember what it feels like (off look) I'm sorry but I do know what you mean. I'm not even sure if she was one of my student I don't remember her. How awful is that?

The girls continue their conversation unaware that Tom is listening from the other room

INT - THE ROSCOES HOUSE

Jason walks downstairs and sees Robbie sleeping on the sofa. He questions what he's doing there and Robbie says he didn't want to disturb him and 'lover boy'. Jason re-iterates that he is not gay and it's not funny, highlighting that he's going through a rough time. Darren walks in from the kitchen and asks whether they know anything more, he talks about Dougiess brother Greg as Dougies walks in. The room drops to silent.

DOUGIE
Morning

All the of the boys nod

DOUGIE
Sufficiently awkward. Jay I'm off to the hospital so - thanks for the awesome sex!

Everyone looks around uncomfortably

JASON
He's joking

DOUGIE
I am, it was appauling

Dougie steals the toast from Darrens hand and heads towards the door. Darren gives Jason a wink and slaps him of the back. Robbie shakes his head and heads up stairs

JASON
He IS joking!

INT. TOMS ROOM

Esther walks in to Toms room with a cup of tea and tells him that she has covered for him. He doesn't respond. She asks him to think back to when she was in hospital and to remember what he felt like not knowing why she had done it and says that she will be home all day when he's ready to talk

INT. HOSPITAL

At Maya's bedside Alan taps his food anxiously as Marilyn re-does Maya's plaits. She strokes her face and gives a smile. Marilyn cautiously presses the subject of so many familiar faces being in the village saying she bumped into Tony, expressing how hard it is to think that he has three children of his own.

Dougie walks through the door abruptly and is closely followed by a very awkward Cindy and Holly. Dougie says he found them in the hall debating whether or not to come in.

CINDY
Hi Mrs D

MARILYN
Cindy Cunningham! (gives her a hug) I was just saying to Alan how good is to still see so many faces in the village, you, Tony, Jack...your sister

The atmosphere could be cut with a knife. Aware of this Marilyn changes the subjects

MARILYN
Who is this?

CINDY
Sorry, um, this is Holly my daughter she - she was -

HOLLY
I was with Mr Blake when...

MARILYN
Oh. I see. Well - I guess thank you

ALAN
Did you know Maya?

MARILYN
DO you know Maya?!

HOLLY
No, I -

DOUGIE
It's okay don't feel bad about that. Maya is a self professed loner she likes it that way

MARILYN
She's not a loner Douglas

DOUGIE
Quote Maya 'people are idiots, I am not, therefore - '

They're interrupted by the sound of Maya's life support machine beeping. As the nurses flood the room they usher everyone outside. Marilyn desperately tugs at the door as Alan holds her back. A voice comes from behind them. Cindy steps back, startled as she sees a very made up teenage girl and a tired man dressed in bike leathers.

CINDY
Greg?

END OF PART ONE

INT. HOSPITAL

Cindy, Holly, Alan, Greg and Kaya are all sat in a row as Marilyn paces in front of them. She questions what took them so long getting there and they tell them that their flight was delayed and they came as soon as they could. Holly tries to soften the mood by asking if they'd been on holiday and Kaya snaps "Whats it got to do with you? Who are ya?". Alan explains who they are and Cindy makes excuses for them to leave.

The kids can feel a fight brewing between their parents and so Dougie tells the others they can come back to halls and get changed and have a shower whilst they wait for Maya to come out of her operation.

EXT. TOWN CENTRE

Frankie and Carley are sat at a cafe in town and the conversation is not exactly flowing. Frankie asks Carley what her course is like and to stop the painfully obvious questions Carley opens up about what her step-dad is really like and says he's not always been bad but he has darker moments. Frankie tells Carley about Ruby and Duncans parents and Newt and talks about Stephs death. She explains that she made a lot of mistakes with her children but how proud she is of Esther and she wants Carley to feel like proper family.

EXT. THE DOG

Jude is smashing through the wine as she sits outside on her own. Darren comes outside and asks if she is reading the lonely hearts ads. She's not amused. Cindy and Holly soon arrive and they talk about how uncomfortable and awful the hospital visit was.

JUDE
Can we talk about something else?

CINDY
Ooh what crawled up your nose?

JUDE
I just don't know why you're so obsessed with the Daniels

HOLLY
Jude their daughters in hospital

CINDY
Oh ignore her she's just in a sulk because she used to fancy Mr Daniels when we were kids and he never even knew she existed

The conversation is cut short as Greg, Dougie and Kaya arrive at The Pub. It's like something out of a western when the bad guy enters a salloon. Greg is all smiles for Jude and Darren. Darren tells him he doesn't want any trouble to which Greg gives a cheeky wink and continues in to the pub.

INT. THE DOG

Nancy is sat with Esther looking through some magazines. Esther looks uncomfortable as she realises Dougie is with his family and explains to Nancy who they are. Esther asks Dougie how Maya is doing but Greg cuts him off and asks Esther to leave them to catch up.

Jason is in the pub with Robbie but Dougie near enough blanks him. Robbie makes a joke about trouble in paradise.

Cindy pops in to go to the toilet and Greg actively steps in her way

GREG
So - Cindy you still knockin' about with Princess Mandy or is she shacked up with some mid-league footballer in London?

CINDY
Actually she's my step-sister and she's running her own events company in Liverpool. Excuse me.

GREG
Hey no need to be so hostile! I'm just making conversation

CINDY
Well don't.

Darren comes down from the flat and sees that Greg is bothering Cindy. He reminds him of his warning

GREG
Get over yourself Darren. I'm just here for a drink with my little brother and my little sister SADLY the other can't join us today! Not that anyone in here has been any use as to explaining why that is!!

The entire pub goes quiet.

GREG
Cheers then

INT. HOSPITAL

Alan and Marilyn begin talking about their time in the village and how they met, reminiscing about a time when Alan manages to talk Kathleen McQueen out of being arrested "that's the moment I knew I'd be a brilliant lawyer" he laughs.

The doctor comes out to see them

INT. THE DOG

Greg is being quite an obnoxious drunk with everybody treading on egg shells so as to not upset him. Jason and Dougie end up at the bar at the same time and Jason wants to apologise for the mornings events but Dougie brushes it off. Jasons asks if he's okay and it's apparent that Dougie is very different around his brother.

Robbie walks up behind them and calls them lovers. Greg jumps from his seat and immediately confronts Robbie who says he was just joking. Greg grabs Robbie by the neck but Kaya shouts at him and tells them they have to go to the hospital - Mum's on the phone

Tom watches from the window of the pub as the family exit. Robbie storms off embarrassed by his encounter. Holly watches on concerned and sees Tom looking down from the window.

INT. THE HOSPITAL

The Daniels siblings run in slow motion through the halls of the hospital. They're storming through pushing past each other.

Tom and Holly maintain eye contact as Esther goes out to collect glasses Holly looks away. Esther looks up at Tom.

Jason is back in his room. He lays down on his bed and sees a note slipped between the slats of the top bunk. He unfolds the note.

The Daniels reach their parents. They make eye contact and Greg immediately falls to the floor. Dougie is frozen on the spot. Kaya shakes her head before turning and running away.

Jason reads the note "Thanks Xx"

Esther walks in to Toms room. The hospital rang Holly and Patrick and told him that Maya has died. [END MUSIC]

EXT. VILLAGE

Jude, Cindy and Holly walk slowly through the village in complete silence. Holly has been crying. As they reach the centre they see Kaya come flying around the corner closely followed by Dougie. Holly is about to give her condolences when Kaya slaps her to the ground and jumps on top of her

KAYA
You tell me what you know! You tell me!

Cindy and Jude try to pull her off as Greg comes around the corner and lifts her from on top of Holly.

CINDY
She doesn't know anything!

KAYA
YOU'RE LYING! YOU KILLED MY SISTER!! TELL ME THE TRUTH!!

Esther and Tom emerge from under the walk way and run towards them as Kaya is grabs Holly by the hair and Greg once again pulls her off

TOM
Stop it! STOP! Holly didn't do anything

KAYA
No? Was it you then was it?

JUDE
Back off!

Jude squares up to Kaya as she nears closer to Tom.

Tegan, Amy, Harry and Diane are all watching the drama from the balcony

TOM
I tried to stop it but - nobody listened

CINDY
Tom?

TOM
It was Peri!

Tegan, Amy, Harry and Diane slowly turn towards a terrified Peri who is stood in the door way of the Lomax house.

POST CREDITS A home video of a 18 year old Greg, 5 year old Dougie and 2 year old Kaya visiting Mum at the hospital after giving birth to Maya

What exactly did Tom do?

Esther heard him in the hospital the other day talking to Maya saying he's sorry. Esther has been badgering him about what he knows and he's hiding away from it and now he's seen Holly getting accused of being involved in Maya's death he's admitted that he knows Peri was involved.

The next episode is a flashback episode showing the events leading up to the fall so hopefully it will explain any questions from this week.

THURSDAY JANUARY 15

Intro: Imaani Coppola - The Kids Are Dangerous

Intercut scenes:
- Grace is looking after Rose. Trevor is fed up with her constantly being there.
- Leela, Cameron and Tegan all avoid eye contact with each other at the police station. Peri is walked past them to a questioning room.
- Jack and Nancy are discussing Tom as he walks in to the room. Jack gives him a look of disappointment. He crosses Esther in the door-way and she ignores him.
- Patrick adjusts his tie in the mirror

INT. GRACE AND TREVORS FLAT

Grace is ignoring her phone as she plays with Rose. Trevor shakes his head at her before answering. He asks her what time she's going in to work and she says that she's given Nina the keys to lock up. Trevor questions her logic behind leaving a part-time student in charge and she says she's got more important things to do.

As Trevor comes down the stairs from the flats he sees Patrick outside reciting words to himself. Nancy walks out of price slice and stops Patrick before he gets in to his car.

NANCY
It's your hearing today isn't it?

Patrick ignores her

NANCY
Looks like the governors have finally opened their eyes to what a low life you really are

PATRICK
I don't have to listen to this

NANCY
What's the matter? Don't you like it when people talk down to you? When people actually stick up for you and tell you what scum you really are? Well I'm not one of your pathetic victims and I hope you get what's coming to you

Patrick gives Nancy a smirk before getting in to the car. She turns to see Maxine stood by the shop entrance looking heart broken.

INT. POLICE STATION

Tegan, Leela and Cameron are beginning to get irrate. Tegan questions why Cameron is there and he tells Tegan to remember that he is her father. Tegan quickly realises that Leela and Cameron are back on and is disgusted with her sister. Tom walks out of another interview room with Jack and yells at them to stop - telling them they're all too busy hating each other to notice what's been going on with Peri.

A police officer comes out and tells Leela they are ready to start the interview and summons her to the room.

Leela runs straight up to Peri and hugs her

PERI
Pez! Do not let them bully you in to saying anything okay? I know you had nothing to do with this

Peri looks nervous as the police officer begins the recording, firstly stating 'I want you to tell us about your relationship with Maya Daniels'. Peri denies knowing her simply stating that she thinks that she had a couple of classes with her.

INT. THE SAVAGE HOUSE

Maxine shouts upstairs to Holly to turn the music down as Annie is crying. She walks to the door in response to a knock and opens it to find Nancy. Maxine rolls her eyes and Nancy asks to come in.

MAXINE
I'd say no but I'm probably too weak to stand by anything I say

NANCY
Okay, I deserved that

MAXINE
Ya think?

NANCY
Maxine, I'm sorry, I didn't mean it like it came out

MAXINE
Yes you did. It's what everyone thinks of me. Weak, pathetic, can't stick up for herself

NANCY
I promise you they don't. He just - he got me riled up. Just looking at him. Everything he's got away with, all the bad stuff thats happened because of him. It pains me to say it but I almost feel sorry for Sienna

MAXINE
Yeah well hopefully he'll get what's coming to him

NANCY
He will and nobody thinks that of you. You're a beautiful, intelligent, honest and kind person

MAXINE
Alright Nanc, maybe everyone doesn't think I'm pathetic but you do remember I sold your mother-in-law a box of rocks the day I moved to the village and pretended that it was make up

NANCY (laughing)
I completely forgot about that! More of her please - well maybe not the selling of rocks but let's get that girl back

MAXINE
You know what you're right! Did I ever tell you that Ann based what whole Mitzeee thing on me? It's time to bring back Maxine! With three e's...

Nancy shakes her head at the three e's and the girls laugh.

INT. GOVERNORS OFFICE

Patrick is waiting outside the office reciting his stories over and over. A woman steps out and invites him inside.

END OF PART ONE

INT. TREVORS AQUARIUM

Trevor is tearing in to one of the workers for feeding one of the fish the wrong food, going in to intricate details about the climate they live in. He is soon distracted as Grace enters with Rose and starts showing her the fish.

TREVOR
What are you doing in 'ere?

GRACE
Getting my nails done! What does it look like?

TREVOR
Where's Tegan?

GRACE
Come on Trev' you've been arrested enough times to know it's not a five minute deal

INT. POLICE STATION

Tegan is playing with her necklace as Cameron paces the floor

TEGAN
Sit down will you? You're doing my head in

CAMERON
Excuse me if I'm not completely calm right now but my fourteen year old daughter is being questioned for MURDER

TEGAN
She's not being questioned for murder, she's - she's not is she?

INT. POLICE INTERVIEW OFFICE

Leela is looking more and more concerned as the questions continue. The officer questioning Peri highlights flaws in her story

OFFICER
A minute a go you said that you weren't sure whether you'd even met Miss Daniels and now you're saying that you say hello to her at the bus stop every day

PERI
Yeah but - I mean - I don't - I just see her

OFFICER
Either you've never met her or you see her everyday

PERI
No, I -

LEELA
She didn't do anything okay!? Our Peri's not like that - she's a good girl

OFFICER
A good girl who sent you false threats posing as an online stalker? A good girl who faked an underage pregnancy for attention?

PERI
What?

OFFICER
Miss Lomax we already have plenty of information regarding the events that led to this tragic event so rather than waste any more of our time I strongly suggest that you start telling the truth

INT. THE DOG FLAT

Jack is trying to fix the television as Tom is making a cup of Tea. He asks Esther if she wants one and she ignores him. Jack tells her not to be so rude and she ignores him too. Tom walks off and Jack asks Esther what she's playing at. She tells him that Tom has known for days what happened to Maya and said nothing.

ESTHER
We still don't actually know what he knows - he could've been covering for Peri for weeks

JACK
He's made his statement to the police and they will deal with it

ESTHER
And what about Maya? You know the dead girl? The fifteen year old kid who is dead because her school mates bullied her?

JACK
Esther, we don't know what happened

ESTHER
HE DOES! If I find out that Peri was bullying that girl and he done nothing to stop it I will never, ever forgive him

INT. GOVERNORS OFFICE

Patrick is lost for words as a list of the events under Patricks tenure are listed

GOVERNOR
A lengthy bullying campaign resulting in the attempted suicide of one of your students, a homophobic hate campaign that resulted in the sexual assault of TWO of your staff members, your own daughter even went un-noticed when being held captive in the school property for several days and now - a student has passed away after being found battered and bruised on the school premises.

PATRICK
I can hardly be held accountable for -

GOVERNOR
Taking all of this in to account and the multiple issues within your personal life taking the schools name in to disrepute a decision has been reached by the governing board to terminate your employment as Principal of Hollyoaks High School and revoke your right to teach in any academic facility for a period of five years. Due to the overwhelming volume of evidence there will be no opportunity to appeal. The dismissal is effective immediately.

EXT. THE VILLAGE

Maxine and Nancy are walking through the streets seemingly a bit tipsy. Nancy praises Dodger for recognising that Maxine deserves a girls night out. They are both dolled up - big hair, big lashes, big heels - falling about laughing, they cross Trevor who is with Grace as they lock up the aquarium.

Tegan pulls up in a taxi and looks stressed. She takes Rose from Grace and thanks her for having her saying she can't handle being at the station with Cameron anymore. Grace says that Rose is welcome to stay if Tegan wants to unwind but Trevor vetoes it and tells Tegan they wont be looking after Rose as they've got businesses to run. Clearly offended Tegan storms off.

As the taxi pulls out Patricks car pulls in. He leaps out and storms towards the flat, spotting Maxine and Nancy.

PATRICK
You'll be pleased to know you no longer have to work with me

NANCY
Oh my! That is terrible news - no, no I meant wonderful

PATRICK (to Maxine)
You look like a tart

Maxine is shaken at first but soon stands tall

MAXINE
I look awesome Patrick AND I feel awesome so you can kiss it as it walks away from you for the very last time

Nancy and Maxine walk off laughing

MAXINE
Oh and Patrick - they've got a discount on meals for one in price slice!

INT. POLICE STATION

Leela calls for a break as Peri is clearly distressed by the interview. The officer calls for a five minute interval and leaves the room.

LEELA
Pez! I know when you're lying so you'd better start speaking up because a girl is dead! Do you understand that?! She's dead

PERI
I KNOW!

INT. THE DOG FLAT

Esther is about to walk out of the door and Tom blocks her from it, refusing to let her past. He tells her that he's sorry. She doesn't want to know. He tells her that he will tell her everything.

INT. POLICE STATION

The officer re-enters and Peri says that she will tell him everything

PERI
It was just a joke, I mean we were messing around and then everything just went nuts and -

OFFICER
Start at the beginning

TOM
It started four months ago, when school started back...

POST CREDITS Patrick steps picks up a smashed picture frame of himself and Maxine before wiping a single tear from his eye and placing the picture back up on a shelf

Intro -
Peri is sat in the interview room with Leela watching on.
Tom is sat on the end of his bed with Esther.
Kaya is in Maya's room and opens her diary

All three of them say (on a split screen): It started in the middle of September

INT. HIGH SCHOOL - SEPTEMBER

Peri is storming through the halls at school, shouting on the phone to Nico. She's talking about Sienna being found in the basement. The conversation comes to an abrupt end as Peri's battery dies. Maya is stood nearby at her locker

MAYA
They're saying that your friend did it.

PERI
What?

MAYA
Your friend. Tom. They're saying that he locked that lady down there.

PERI
Well he didn't alright? Mind your own business. Loser.

Peri shoves past Maya to get to a group of her friends. She turns back and gives Maya a death stare.

- Two weeks later -

INT. THE DANIELS HOUSE - MID SEPTEMBER

Maya walks through the front door of her home. She stops at a mirror in the hall and stares at herself for some time before undoing the ribbons in her pigtails and shaking her hair out. She responds to a noise in the kitchen. It's Dougie.

He grabs her in his arms and swings her around

MAYA
You're back

DOUGIE
Nope I am a figment of your imagination little one

MAYA
If that were the case how would you have picked me up

DOUGIE
You tell me! It's your imagination

MAYA
(not biting)
How was the world?

DOUGIE
The world was wonderful. Thailand was amazing - I have a new found appreciation for the art of ping pong

MAYA
Ping pong is not hard

DOUGIE
(changing the subject)
What happened to your hair?

Maya avoids the topic and begins unpacking Dougies bag for him. Placing objects in to categoric piles.

MAYA
I wanted a change

DOUGIE
You hate change. Nobody better be giving you a hard time. Pig tails are cool. Baby Spice wore them!

MAYA
Who?

DOUGIE
Wow. Anyway I start college over there in a couple of weeks so big brother will be watching you! But right now Fileas Fogg needs a power nap

MAYA
Fileas Fogg went around the world in eighty days. You have been gone for two hundred and ninety seven.

INT. HIGH SCHOOL - EARLY OCTOBER

The school bell goes and the class is about to leave when Maya reminds the teacher that they have homework due in. Peri doesn't have hers and makes an excuse. After Nancy embarasses Peri in front of the class Maya makes matters worse by highlighting the importance of education.

Outside the class room Peri, surrounded by her friends, pushes Maya in to a locker andcalls her a suck up. Tom interjects and encourages a static Maya to walk away.

TOM
What was that for?

PERI
She's doing my head in! She think's she so good just because she's teachers pet

TOM
She didn't deserve that

PERI
Tom she's a freak!

TOM
She's got aspergers!

PERI
Whatever. I'm meeting Nico at the Folley are you coming?

TOM
What are you doing at the folley it's pouring down?

PERI
Nico nicked some wine from Patricks cupboard

Tom shakes his head at Peri and walks away.

PRESENT DAY - INT. TOMS ROOM

Esther re-enters the room with a drink for Tom. She encourages him to continue the story. He tells her that things seemed to get worse but Peri just had no idea what she was doing and nobody seemed to care

PRESENT DAY - POLICE STATION

Leela is in shock at what she's hearing. The police officer pushes Peri to continue. Peri said that things got worse around Halloween

EXT. THE VILLAGE - HALLOWEEN

As Sinead and Harry drunkenly kiss outside The Hutch, Leela is talking to a friend at the bottom of the steps as a drunk Peri turns the corner. Peri is half passed out in the alley as Kaya and Maya walk back from the chip shop and spot her.

Maya tells Kaya that they go to school together and Kaya says that Peri can stay at their house.

INT. THE DANIELS HOUSE - NOVEMBER 1

Peri awakens in the morning to see that Maya is sat on a chair opposite the bed, staring at her. Peri thanks her for giving her somewhere to stay but soon spots that Maya has drawn a picture of her. Peri loses it with Maya but Maya doesn't understand what she has done wrong. Peri warns her that she is going to make her life hell and calls her a weirdo before leaving.

END OF PART ONE

PRESENT DAY - INT. THE DANIELS HOUSE

Kaya is still skimming over the words getting more and more angry as she reads. She puts the book down to wipe away her tears and a photo catches her eye. It's a polaroid selfie of her, Dougie and Maya on fire works night.

EXT. THE VILLAGE - BONFIRE NIGHT

Dougie and Kaya are attempting to write their names with sparklers as Maya stares off in to the distance. Kaya makes jokes about Maya being 'away with the fairies'. Kaya soon grows bored of the display and suggests they go and get some food. Maya says she will stay for the rest of the display.

Shortly after they leave Peri walks around the corner with Harry and a group of girls. He is relishing the attention. Maya walks up to them and is greeted with a look of disgust.

MAYA
Do you like fireworks?

HARRY
Err, they're...alright?

MAYA
There's loads of pink ones. You know, for that girl who was shot at the hospital

PERI
Why are you even talking to us? We are not your friends!

Maya looks down at the ground and shuffles her feet. The group are all making comments under their breath as they walk away. Maya becomes more and more built up and begins bashing her hands against her head before charging at Harry and tackling him to the ground, slapping him repeatedly. Peri and the girls pull her off and she falls backwards, landing in the mud.

PERI
What the hell is wrong with you? Stay away from us! Nutter.

INT. THE DANIELS HOUSE - BONFIRE NIGHT

Dougie is on his mobile phone and rushes down the stairs on his way to the door. He crosses Maya on the porch, stopping briefly to ask if she's okay he doesn't really wait for an answer as he goes to meet Jason.

Kaya is putting on make up in the mirror, she sees Mayas dirty reflection and turns to look at her, making a joke about how clumsy she is, always falling over. Kaya continues talking about herself as she prepares to go and meet a boy. She tells Maya that she'll come and see her before her and Greg start their ski season in the morning.

PRESENT DAY - THE DANIELS HOUSE

Kaya reads the diary outloud, make up streaked down her face

KAYA
She looked like a lady of the night in the worst possible way. Spending so much time looking at her reflection rather than reflecting on what a shallow and selfish person she is. I hate her.

INT. HIGH SCHOOL - LATE NOVEMBER

Following another of Tegan and Leelas fights, Peri is playing up at school and finds herself getting argumentative with one of the teachers. Maya is talking to herself about the situation and the teacher puts them both in detention.

Later, in detention a bored Peri sparks a conversation with Maya. Maya asks her why she is horrible to her and whilst hostile at first Peri softens to her and opens up about Danny and Sams death and all of the family drama, telling her she knows that Leela and Cameron don't really love each other.

By the end of detention Peri has warmed to Maya and tells her she will back off.

PRESENT DAY. THE DOG - TOMS ROOM

TOM
Peri said they sorted it all out but I didn't believe her. She started using Maya like a lapdog getting her to do her homework and all sorts

INT. HIGH SCHOOL - MID-DECEMBER

Maya is up on the roof taking photographs of the village from up high. Tom spots her from below

TOM
What are you doing up there?

MAYA
I like it up here. You can see everything. All the trees. I like trees.

Maya continues to take photographs.

MAYA
There's some really nice graffiti too and some really rude stuff by someone called Bart. He can't spell very well.

TOM
You should probably come down

Peri walks out of the school and stands next to Tom. He points up at Maya. Peri calls up and asks Maya if she's done her science homework. When Maya doesn't respond she says she needs it by five and to bring it to the folley.

EXT. THE FOLLEY - MID DECEMBER

Maya arrives at the Folley to a very impatient Peri who snatches the work from her hand

PERI
This doesn't even look like my writing AND you're late. Whatever, we're breaking up for Christmas tomorrow so I wont be able to hang out with you because I'm busy but we'll hang out when school gets back yeah? Do some studying?

Peri walks off before Maya can reply. Peri also implies to Maya that Tom is her boyfriend and she'll be angry if she finds out Maya has been talking to him.

PRESENT DAY. INT. POLICE STATION

Peri tells the police officer that was the last time she saw her until New Years Eve but that she recieved endless, endless messages from her on Christmas Day which annoyed her and when she next saw her she'd just "had some bad news" (about Cameron killing Danny/Sam)

She tells him that

EXT. THE VILLAGE - NEW YEARS EVE

Tom passes Maya on his way from a takeaway and asks what she's doing. She tells him she's going to the roof to get photos of the fireworks. He tells her to be careful and continues on his way. She ignores him and hurries off.

EXT. HIGH SCHOOL - NEW YEARS EVE

Fireworks go off in the sky as Maya takes photos on the roof of the school. She looks over the edge after hearing a noise. It's Peri on the phone. She's drunk again.

PERI
No I didn't forget it's your birthday! Come out. Don't be a - yeah - fine!

Peri hangs up and Maya calls out to her. Peri mutters under her breath for Maya to drop dead.

Maya is soon joined on the roof by Peri. Maya questions whether Peri is drunk and she says she is and goes off on a huge rant about her family and how messed up they are. Maya thanks god that her family is pretty normal. Peri takes offense to this and starts getting in Maya's face, getting incredibly aggressive.

A frightened Maya begins backing up and almost slips off the edge, shocking Peri

PERI
Stop! I-I'm sorry! Don't go any further

MAYA
Step away from me. Let me go. Let me get down.

PERI
Okay, okay! Sorry - hang on.

Peri goes to step away but in her drunken state she trips over her lace and lunges forward startling Maya who slips over the edge.

Peri rushes toward the edge and sees Maya hit the ground.

EXT. HIGH SCHOOL - LATER THAT NIGHT

Peri drags Tom by the hand to where Maya fell but she's not there. Peri insists she is telling the truth but Tom says he's had enough of her lies and to leave him alone. Tom leaves a confused Peri who leaves seconds later. Maya is lying, battered and bruised, behind a bush

PRESENT DAY. POLICE STATION

Leela is now crying as Peri finishes her story

PERI
I just thought she'd been lucky and she'd gone home, I didn't -

POLICE OFFICER
You didn't think to tell anyone that a fourteen year old girl had fallen from the third story of a building been left to die?

PERI
No, I -

POLICE OFFICER
You see the thing is Miss Lomax, Miss Daniels wouldn't have been where she landed, where you left her because according to the marks on her body, the grazes on her hands and her knees she used the last of her conscious energy to drag herself away from the scene presumably to go and get help before she spent several days outside an abandoned building in the freezing cold as her body began to shut down in response to her injuries and that is something you are going to have to sleep with for the rest of your life

PRESENT DAY. INT. THE DOG - TOMS ROOM

Tom and Esther are staring in to space. Tom says he should've checked properly and Esther tells him it's not his fault and he tried to be there for her.

PRESENT DAY. INT. THE DANIELS HOUSE

Dougie walks in to Mayas room and sees her diary torn to shreds. He runs out of the door.

PRESENT DAY. INT. POLICE STATION

The police officer tells Peri there are no further questions and that Peri can return home whilst further action is decided upon.

PRESENT DAY. EXT. POLICE STATION

As Peri and Leela leave the station Kaya comes screaming towards Peri and grabs her by the hair before pinning her against the wall and grabbing her face.

Dougie is just seconds behind and pulls his sister off, telling her that Peri is not worth it.

KAYA
I don't care if a thousand police hear this! YOU are a dead girl!

Dougie drags Kaya away and Peri turns to Leela who, with everything building up inside her, slaps Peri across the face

LEELA
You disgust me

PERI
Mum...

LEELA
Oh Mum now is it? Now that you need someone on your side!? I love you more than anything I have ever loved my entire life but right now I can't even look at you.

Leela turns and walks away as Peri is left outside of the station alone

Any feedback on recent events? New format?

I know there's quite a lot of new people they wont be forefront all of the time. I've intentionally linked them to people like The Osbornes, Tony, Cunninghams and McQueens in order to bring new stories to those groups without retreading old ground with existent characters.

Are you planning on bringing back Warren Fox or Brendan Brady?

Not at present. I'm not a huge fan of Warren and I'm not sure what I'd do with Brendan as yet as I've got a lot of other stuff on the go but I wouldn't say a definite no. I'm all for returns whether they be temporary or permanent.

SIX WEEKS OF SNOW PREVIEW... BEGINS JANUARY 22 (Or this weekend in the real world )

MONDAY JANUARY 22 2015

After recent goings on Esther is spending more and more time at the student halls whilst Dougie has been back living with his family. Lucy is particularly put out by this and Esther can't understand why Lucy doesn't want to spend any time with her. Carley tells Esther than Lucy has been particularly blasé about everything since she returned home from Christmas and has spent most of her time in her room.

Esther tries to arrange a date with her but Lucy says that she's too tired. Carley suggests setting up a surprise date for her at the halls and says she'll get rid of everyone else but Lucy isn't being herself at the dinner and keeps zoning out. Esther asks whether she's done something wrong and Lucy says she's met someone else, causing Esther to leave her alone. Lucy heads to her room and opens a box that containts various medications.

Dodger and Michaela are butting heads over at 'The Loft' when Michaela vetoes all of his promotion ideas due to the custody battle with Theresa. Dodger reminds her that he's the bar manager and she tells him she doesn't care. Amy comes in to the club to speak to Dodger and the atmosphere between herself and Michaela is cold.

Amy asks Dodger whether he can sort out any cheap decorations for her wedding and makes it clear and loud that she is looking for someone to help design the theme for it whilst Michaela sulks and scribbles notes in her book. As Amy leaves Dodger asks why Michaela isn't doing the wedding planning and she says that Amy was the one who went to social services. Dodger tells her that she wouldn't do that Michaela isn't interested and accuses them of having an affair just as Maxine enters. Dodger is forced to explain his history with Amy which delights Michaela - however Maxine isn't bothered which annoys Michaela even more.

Leela is back at The Lomaxes to keep an eye on Peri. She and Tegan are trying to pin point where things went wrong but Grace is on hand to push them in the right direction, blaming their feud and her lack of attention for her cries for help. Leela and Tegan agree to put the past behind them once and for all. Tegan calls Cameron to the house and tells him that she will never, ever forgive what he did but they have to work together for Peri's sake and prove that they can provide a stable environment or else Peri will be taken away.

Grace offers to look after Rose for a couple of nights just to allow them some breathing space and focus on Peri. Tegan reluctantly agrees after Grace insists. As Grace leaves with Rose she kisses her on the head and says "Don't worry, Mummy will look after you now".

TUESDAY JANUARY 23 2015

Louis asks John Paul for advice on getting Libertys attention and John Paul just tells him to be himself but everytime Louis attempts to woo her he freezes up and ends up pointing her in the direction of another man "It's a problem I have". JP approaches Liberty who is beyond stressed out after her PR Manager quit over the Christmas period. She tells him that she needs a distraction from work and so JP sets up a date for her and Louis, however when Michaela hears that there's a PR role available she gate crashes the date to try and sell herself to Liberty. Liberty tells Michaela she's not going to hire someone who keeps giving her brother a hard time and the two of them get in to a fight with Michaela insisting that Louis leave with her.

Liberty returns home in a foul mood as Maxine tries to calm her down she makes a passing comment about her old job at The Loft and Liberty hires her on the spot - not that she had any say in it of course.

Ziggy and Chris are at the pub together as Amy arrives with the kids. She snaps at Chris telling him that he's got to pull his finger out and start helping with the wedding, asking whether or not he's sorted the catering out with Tony yet. Ziggy asks Amy whether there's anything he can do and she says he can Michaela grow up and realise that Amy hasn't done anything wrong.

Ziggy approaches Michaela later i the day but she's already in a bad mood after the confrontation with Liberty and begins ranting endlessly about Amy. When Ziggy suggests she talk to Amy she flips at him but he has some words for her when he highlights that her two best friends aren't speaking to her and she's the one losing out.

Esther is in town with Sinead and they stop outside a baby clothes shop. Sinead tells Esther that she wants nothing more than to be a mother again but follows telling her that she needs to sort her self out first and wants to go back to college and make something of herself. Sinead thanks Esther for forgiving her, highlighting that it's been two years since she tried to kill herself. Esther tells Sinead she understands that she's not the same person any more and that she's moved on. The two of them agree that 2015 is going to be their year and decide to book a holiday to go and see Ruby.

Esther looks back through the shop window and sees Grace with Rose. She asks what she's doing and Grace says she's looking after her for a few days whilst The Lomaxes sort Peri out. Sinead walks ahead to a cash point and Esther warns Grace not to get too attached.

Amy is attempting to get up the steps with endless amounts of shopping as a voice comes from above "Need a hand?". Amy looks up and sees her Mother, Kathy, waiting for her.

WEDNESDAY 23RD JANUARY 2015

Diane reluctantly agrees to meet with Tony to discuss the kids but it's clear things aren't going to go smoothly when Sinead walks in to the restaurant and instantly brings up the bad feelings for her. Later, Diane bumps in to Myra in the village who gives her a hand with her shopping. They get to talking about the things that Tony has done and Myra mentions when he slept with Mercedes. Myra tells Diane that Tony and women is never going to change but Tony is a loving father and should be given a chance to prove it.

Diane tells Myra that she will settle for the flat in the divorce and give Tony the business but a frustrated Harry is listening and isn't so keen on hearing what a doting father Tony is. When Harry bumps in to Tony in the village he tells him that Diane has moved on and has been seeing someone else and plans to move him in. When Diane arranges to meet Tony again he flies off the handle causing a huge row between them in which she promises to take him for everything he's got.

Amy is still in shock at her Mums arrival and asks what she's doing there but Kathy is coy with her answers. Chris doesn't see the problem and assumes she's there to help with the wedding but when Ste arrives the look on his face tells Chris that all is not as it seems. Kathy immediately berates Amy for still having contact with Ste but keeps her composure when she sees that Amy is ready to fight back.

Amy reluctantly agrees to let Kathy spend the day with her and the kids and Chris tries his absolute best to get to know her but Ste convinces him it's best to leave them to it. Later, Michaela sees them in the village and pulls Ste aside asking what Kathy's doing there.

MICHAELA
Err Ste when did that one fly out of the cuckoos nest?

STE
She just turned up yesterday - can you believe not a word in seven years then BOOM back on your door step

MICHAELA
That's mental. She's mental. Ames must be going mental.

STE
Why don't you ask her?

MICHAELA
Ste, don't

STE
You know she really needs you right now, you're her best friend. She's getting married in two weeks, her wedding planners not talking to her, her crazy Mums probably come to fly down the aisle on a broomstick and she's got to walk down the aisle knowing that it wont be me at the end of it

MICHAELA
As if! Look don't think that making me laugh is going to charm me on to your side! I haven't forgiven you for what you did to our John Paul

STE
How is he?

MICHAELA
Why don't you ask him?

At the park Kathy asks Amy about her and Chris and Amy doesn't have much to say but soon loses her patience and berates Kathy for not attending Sarah's funeral telling her that she was sick too and had to bury her sister without her Mum. Had to have a child without her Mum. Got beaten by her boyfriend and her Mum was nowhere to be seen. Kathy apologises and reveals to Amy that she has cancer.

Elsewhere, Sinead attends an open day at the college and bumps in to a nervous looking Robbie. She asks what he's doing there and whether he's thinking about attending but he tells her he's about to meet Nina's kid for the first time and can't decide whether to stay or to run. Sinead tells him that he was brilliant with Katy and that he should man up and show his support. He asks what she's doing there and she says "starting a future"

Robbie eventually enters the halls where Nina is waiting with her daughter Nyla and Nyla's dad Ashley. Ashley is immediately hostile towards Robbie but Nina plays it off as a joke. It's very apparent that Robbie is nervous however when an argument breaks out between Nina and Ashley they take outside and leave Robbie with Nyla. It becomes clear he is a natural.

Sinead enters her interview for the college but at the last minute decides that she wants to change the course she's applying for. She wants to be a social worker.

Is Kathy lying about her Cancer?

THURSDAY JANUARY 22 2015

Michaela sees Amy walking through the village and attempts to make peace but after her Mums bombshell Amy is not in the mood and flips at her former best friend hitting her with some home truths about what a bad friend she's been over the years and how selfish she is. Michaela tells Amy that it's her own fault her life went to pieces and the two continue to get in each others faces until Amy eventually slaps Michaela as Kathy watches on with a stunned Leah.

Amy apologises to Leah for what she saw and turns to Ste with her news. Ste storms over to The McQueens and is greeted by John Paul who is less than pleased to see him. Ste ignores JP and goes up to Michaela to tell her about Kathys illness and Michaela tells him she tried to make peace but Ste tells her to try harder. When Michaela and JP see Kathy in the village she asks her about the cancer but Kathys answers are hazy at best. Later, Amy is at lunch with her Mum as Michaela and JP are eating nearby. Michaela over hears Kathy giving Amy a completely different story to what she gave her and immediately walks over to the table telling Amy that her Mum is lying. Amy tells Michaela to back off but when JP backs up Michaelas story she realises that her Mum is just as twisted as she ever was and tells her to stay away but Kathy tells her that she's not going anywhere.

The two girls but their differences aside and Michaela asks if there's still time to help with the wedding. Seeing them reunite ignites something in JP and he approaches Ste and tells him that he is willing to move on but much to Ste's dismay - he will only move on as friends.

Robbie is out in the village with Jason when he spots Ashley talking to a random guy. It becomes clear to him that he's picking up or selling drugs and so Robbie decides to follow him but Jason is distracted as he sees Dougie outside the coffee shop. Jason asks Dougie how he's doing and Dougie seems okay but Jason knows better. Dougie tells Jason to stop worrying about him and tells Jason to look after himself, stating that he looks terrible.

Robbie is looking for Ashley who jumps out on him and pins him against a wall asking him why he's following him. Robbie tells him that he's looking out for Nina and asks why he's risking prison when he has a kid. Ashley reminds Robbie that Nyla is his child and tells Robbie to mind his own business. Robbie looks down and sees that Ashley is holding a knife. He tells him that he'll back off.

Esther and Sinead are out celebrating Sineads acceptance on to her course when they see Lucy who immediately dodges Esther. Esther asks Nina what's going on with her and she tells Esther that she's been missing her lessons a lot and doesn't seem interested in much. Esther wonders whether she has depression but doesn't know how to approach the subject.

Sinead decides to pay Lucy a visit at halls to dig further but she gets caught up when she sees her new course leader. In a drunken state Sinead expresses her gratitude towards him for accepting her and giving her a chance. He queries whether or not she got his voice mail. She realises she's left her phone at home and he tells her that perhaps it's best she goes there.

Sinead gets back to The Lomax flat where Amy, Ste and Michaela are talking wedding plans. She picks up her phone and recieves a voicemail telling her that they have can no longer take her on the course given her the reasons for her dismissal from college stating that she is not an appropriate fit for a social worker.

Jason is in the Roscoe house near on tearing his hair out as he flashes back over his relationship with Holly, his friendship with Dougie and his family dramas. Dougies words echo in his head and he smashes up the house before putting every photo of him in a bin and setting fire to it but the fire soon spreads...

FRIDAY JANUARY 23 2015

Jason has some serious explaining to do after the fire at the house and says that he was just trying to get rid of some junk but the fireman tells him that he could've burnt the entire house down. With the place in ruins until further notice the boys are forced to move in to Darren's old flat - right next door to Holly.

Ziggy wants to know what's going on with his brothers strange behaviour recently and tells him that he's ot looking well. Jason tells Ziggy to stop being so pre-occupied with looks and blames him for everything. When Ziggy asks what 'everything' is Jason ignores him and storms out of the flat past Darren. Ziggy asks for Darrens advice and Nancy - who is helping Darren move stuff over to the flat - recognises his behaviour as being similar to Hannah's when she was ill.

Darren and Ziggy return to the burnt out house and look for evidence and find a photo album under Jasons bed with his face stuck on body builders bodies and his face scribbled out of family pictures.

Nina is struggling to get Nyla to sleep when Robbie goes to see her and she tells him that Ashley was meant to be taking Nyla home two hours ago. Robbie manages to get Nyla to sleep and doesn't know whether to Nina about Ashley but when he phones Nina and says he'll be late Robbie tells her what happened.

Nina is hesitant to believe it and rushes to her room to go through Ashleys bag where she finds a bag of pills. Ashley arrives shortly after and is confronted by the contents. Nina tells him that he's no longer welcome around Nyla. Highlighting the fact that he's already on probation and she will make sure that he's nothing to do with their daughter. Ashley lashes out and blames it on Robbie who sticks up to him and warns him away. Ashley pulls out the knife just as the police arrive. Nina covers Nylas eyes and tells Ashley goodbye.

Amy and Michaela are at The Dog catching up.

The catch up is interrupted as they spot Dodger with his solicitor. Amy asks how Theresa is doing and Michaela says she's acting like everything is completely okay and also acting like she doesn't have children. Amy questions whether she knows reported Theresa. At that very moment Michaela gets a text from Theresa asking her to pick up some vodka on the way home. Michaela tells Amy she's starting to think whoever did it was right.

Back at the boys flat Jason returns home shortly followed by Robbie, Nina and Nyla. Darren and Ziggy are waiting with the book they found and Robbie asks what's going on. Ziggy presents the evidence and tells Jason he is sick but Robbie defends him. Seconds later Nina steps forward and reveals that she found a drawer full of food in Jasons room.

A depressed Sinead is drinking alone and looking at photos of George, Maddie, Ruby, Bart and Neil. She slams the picture down and storms from the flat. Sinead spots Esther in the village and tells her that it was the accident that caused everything to go to hell and tells Esther she's not interested in her forgiveness because she hasn't forgiven her for causing the accident.

HOLLYOAKS PLANS 'UNCONTROLLABLE GRIEF' STORY FOR NEWCOMER

The recent accidental death of guest character Maya Daniels will have a long running impact in the series.

Maya's mother Marilyn will enter a cycle of uncontrollable grief that will deeply effect every aspect of her life.

The shows producer says "Considering the amount of death in Hollyoaks I really can't recall an extensive or intense period of grief since Mandy Richardson following the death of Baby Grace. Losing Maya is going to have a slow building effect on every aspect of Marilyns life - her work, her morals, her marriage and her relationship with her other children. She wont be getting over it"


HOLLYOAKS 20TH ANNIVERSARY TEASES DEATH OF VETERAN CHARACTER

Though it is still several months away plans are already forming for Hollyoaks 20th anniversary this year and it has been confirmed that a major long running character will meet their maker.

No more details were given than "every character at risk was introduced at least eight years ago" leaving a relatively short list of potentials with Tony Hutchinson, Jack, Darren, Frankie and Nancy Osborne, Michaela, Myra and John Paul McQueen, Ste Hay, Amy Barnes and The Cunningham girls.

MONDAY JANUARY 26TH 2015

Following the confrontation from his family Jason has moved out of the 'lads flat' and nobody knows his whereabouts. A desperate Robbie approaches Holly to help find him but she's distracted when someone slips a photo of Cindy under the door with her eyes scratched out. Holly hides the picture, worried that it will trigger her Mum again but when she goes to stash it she finds piles of threatening letters. Holly is going through the evidence as Dodger finds her but he has his own stuff going on as it's the week of the custody hearing.

Holly approaches Dirk about the pictures and Cindy is forced to come clean about exactly who Alex is and why he's been crowding her, she tells Dirk that she stold thousands from him and then had him arrested at the airport when they were leaving to Hollyoaks. Holly remembers Alex from her childhood and remembers him as being a good guy. Cindy says he was and that's what people like her and Jude to do good guys. Later, the girls and Dirk are in the village when Alex approaches them. Dirk tells him to back off and Alex asks whether Cindy told them the truth. Dirk says that he knows everything and Alex is about to drop a bombshell when he sees a cab pull up. It's Clark, Diane's brother. Alex immediately drops the conversation and storms off. Dirk tells Cindy she'll be fine but Holly isn't convinced her Mum is telling the truth.

Diane is a little shocked to see Clark at her door step saying she didn't think he meant it when he said he'd be back. Clark says he has his eye on a local business and will be sticking around to keep an eye on things. Harry is more than a little put out of place and becomes worried that the attention will be taken away from him.

Harry heads out in to the village looking for trouble but instead comes across a very drunk Sinead who is drowning her sorrows by the fountain. Diane and Clark are walking past and Harry takes the opportunity to wind Sinead up further and gropes her and before he knows it she's reacted by pushing him in the fountain. Diane storms over and tears in to Sinead for being drunk in the middle of the day and tells Harry to go home and get changed and sends Sinead to sober up.

When they get home Harry makes a point of undressing in front of Sinead and parading around without his shirt on. He begins talking about missing his 'friend with benefits' and how great it was to have that no strings attached fun. It's not long before his plan works and he and Sinead end up in bed together but she is unaware that he is filming the entire thing.

Robbie goes to halls to look for Jason but Nina tells him that he isn't there and apologises for adding fuel to the fire. She joins in the search and they head to the old house - he's not there but there's signs that he has been. Robbie tells Nina that he doesn't know what to do and is angry at himself for not noticing that his twin brother was sick. Nina says it's not his fault and he quickly loses his temper when she mentions having known for a while. Nina manages to calm him and tells him that it's not her place and she did try to confront Jason about it.

Nina is going through the stuff that Jason left behind and finds one of Dougies hoodies. She proclaims that Dougie has been there but insists that they don't go to his house as it is Mayas funeral this week. When Nina leaves Robbie immediately calls Dougie who agrees to meet him in the village. He explains the situation and Dougie apologises, saying that he can't help him but hopes that he finds him. Later, Dougie returns to halls and tells Nina he's just back to get a few things. Nina stops him and tells him that she knows and she can't keep lying. Dougie asks that she give him one more day. He enters his room and Jason is sat on the bed staring in to space.

Dougie sits opposite him and looks him dead in the face "It's time to stop lying Jase. I know everything. Talk to me"

As Sinead dresses her self and leaves the flat a proud Harry watches the video back as he uploads it to the internet.

TUESDAY JANUARY 27TH 2015

Theresa is getting ready for her custody hearing but doesn't seem to be taking it too seriously when all she talks about is going for celebratory drinks afterwards. Theresa asks who is taking her and everyone is busy. Phoebe says that she'll go with her but becomes increasingly infuriated when Theresa keeps finding extra things to do and making herself late. Phoebe and Nana eventually get Theresa out of the house and when Louis ignores them Phoebes curiosity is up.

On the other side Maxine, Liberty and Dirk all offer Dodger their full support and tell him that they'll be there no matter what just not physically as Annie is sick, Dirk has work and Liberty has to go to the recording studio. Dodger attends the hearing alone but is quietly confident when Theresa is late.

As proceedings get under way things aren't looking good for Dodger as his families history of mental illness is raised as well as his relationship with his step-mother Maxine. When Theresa begins spinning lies about thier relationship and accusing him of cheating and being violent he loses his cool but managers to compose himself. Seeing how dirty the McQueens are playing Dodger finally gives up playing the nice guy and reminds them this time last year Theresa was in prison for murder and drags the family through the dirt with their criminal history. Theresa turns it on him by accusing him of incest.

The McQueens defense (Alan Daniels) is good at what he does but the inconsistency in Theresas accusations, teamed with her recent prison sentence means that Dodger wins full custody of baby Carmella. As they leave the court house Theresa confronts Dodger and he tells her to wake up saying "even your own family don't think you're a good mother". He refuses to elaborate. Phoebe and Nana return home without Theresa (who has gone straight to the pub). Phoebe immediately corners Louis and asks him whether he was the one who reported Theresa.

Esther has had enough of Lucy's hot and cold attitude and decides that they're over but Carley tells her that Lucy has a genuine reason for being the way she has been. Esther has no time for it though - after her fall out with Sinead she is taking no prisoners and has decided it's time she stop putting up with everyones crap.

Carley plays match maker and encourages Lucy to be honest with Esther. Carley fakes a 'fashion crisis' to get Esther to halls where Lucy has set the place up to look like outer space with U.V painted stars and fairy lights. She tells Esther she knows her head has been full recently and when she wants to feel lighter she looks at the stars and pretends she's floating on the moon. Esther tells her it's cute but she's not interested in playing hot and cold. Lucy explains to Esther that she can't help how she's been, revealing that she has M.S

Jason and Dougie spend the entire day locked in Dougies room as Dougie pours his heart out about what's been feeling over Maya's death saying he's felt useless. Jason reassures him at all points but doesn't accept it when the tables are turned. Dougie drags Jason to the mirror and asks him what he sees. Jason says he sees a nothing, a nobody, a mess. Dougie tells Jason to look at HIS reflection instead and asks what he sees. Jason looks hard and says that he sees an athlete, a model, someone who is funny and who cares about other people. Dougie tells Jason that they get on because they're the same person - they train hard, they laugh hard and they're both awesome. Jason laughs at this but his face drops when he looks back in the mirror.

Dougie tells him "When I look at you I see my best friend, I see my best friend hurting badly, confused and lost. I see him looking at himself and not seeing who is really there. Everytime you look in that mirror imagine the reflection that you see now. With me stood next to you. Because I will be and I will be until you realise how much you're worth"

Jason tells Dougie he's ready to go home.

WEDNESDAY JANUARY 28TH 2015

It’s the day of Peris hearing and the entire family is anxious about what’s going to happen. Ste tells her that no matter what happens it will be okay. The pressure builds and the tension between Ste and Cameron is obvious as they blame each other as a negative influence in Peri’s life Tegan tells them that the entire past year is to blame, no one person and that moving forward no matter what has happened Peri has to be their number one. Leela is less supportive of her daughter as she says Peri is old enough to be responsible for her actions and she should be punished as such.

The family discover that whilst Peri must visit a psychiatrist on a weekly basis until they sign her off. She will also hold a criminal record for intent to harm that will remain until she is eighteen years old. Cameron asks what they’re going to do about school and they’re told that the new head teacher has a fantastic record of rehabilitating troubled students and is willing to allow Peri to continue on at Hollyoaks High but she will be under great scrutiny. She is informed that her friends whom joined in the bullying campaign against Maya have both opted to move to another school. Peri tells Leela that she wants to move schools but she insists that she face up to her actions and remains at Hollyoaks High.

Theresa is walking around like nothing has happened and tells Phoebe she’s boring when she refuses to go out with her. When Theresa leaves Phoebe insists that Louis tell Theresa the truth about who reported her but Louis says that it doesn’t matter because the kids are where they belong. Phoebe tells him he’s betrayed the family and he reminds her of Theresa’s wrong doings and tells her that allowing a baby to be raised in to a family that behaves like that is the real betrayal and he doesn’t regret a thing.

Theresa bumps in to Sinead at ‘The Loft’ and a few catty remarks are thrown between them about their appearances and life styles until they end up toasting over their hatred of men. Robbie tells them they only hate men because they can’t hold one down and Sinead lays in to him about his track record and playing dad to someone else’s kid. Theresa laughs at that and he turns to Theresa and asks where her kids are. Annoyed at his comments the girls empty the till whilst Robbie is changing a barrel. He’s immediately on to them and decides to play them at their own game telling them to bring the money back or the police will see the CCTV. Panicked, the girls return to the bar and hand whats left of the money over. Sinead demands the DVD and he insists they watch it first. He puts it on with a bar full of people and reveals Sineads sex tape.

It’s the day of Mayas funeral. Myra, Michaela and John Paul are in attendance to support the family as are Darren, Tom, Cindy, Holly and Patrick. As the proceedings get under way there is tension mounting in the room as Kaya gives Holly the evil eye. The family give several speeches and talk about how hurt they are. When Kaya makes her speech she reads extracts from Maya’s diary about being angry at the family and hating her sister. She tells everyone there that they let her down and turns on her family reading a particularly painful extract about her parents before leaving the church.

Holly finds Kaya outside and Kaya immediately puts her guard up. Holly starts talking about Callums death and tells Kaya that she still thinks about it but she got through it and even though it’s not family she still loved him and he was still taken away too early. Kaya tells Holly that she is never going to get over it. Patrick is watching from afar.

Later, Patrick tells Holly that he heard what she said to Kaya and praises her for being a ‘mature and remarkable young woman’. Holly awkwardly thanks him as Cindy watches on from the shop door way.

THURSDAY JANUARY 29

Ross returns from his trip to Thailand all smiles and joy until he hears about what's been happening whilst he's been away. A guilt ridden Ross reveals to best-friend Dougie that he had his phone stolen the day he got there so decided to embrace being at one with the wilderness then spent the next week recovering from a mystery bug in hospital.

Ross - who was practically raised by the family - immediately goes to see Kaya and she is not happy with him for not being there. Greg tells her to back off and that it's not his fault but Ross is sorry none the less. Later, Ross finds Kaya alone at the folly and they talk about Maya. She tells him about her diary entry saying all the bad things about Kaya. Ross decides that he can cheer her up and takes her back to halls.

Kaya is amused at how many pictures there are of them all growing up. He sits her down and gets his laptop out before opening a 'video' file. She asks whether this is going to be embarrassing and he says not at all. Ross explains to her that when he and Dougie were living in Australia he recorded all of their skype conversations "as ammunition for potential embarassment opportunities". He finds the last video conversation between himself and Maya the week before they came home. It features Maya ranting about Kaya for stealing her shoes. In the video after Dougie walks away, Ross tells Maya that she doesn't mean it and Maya says "of course I don't, she's my big sister! She's the best! The best at getting on my nerves but she's still everything!". Ross tells Kaya that Maya loved her and that never changed. He promises to be there for her.

Cindy sees Holly leaving Patricks flat and demands answers as to why she's still hanging around him if he's no longer her teacher and Holly says that he's helping her and is her friend. Later, Cindy confronts Patrick in the hall way after leaving Judes and tells him that she knows what he's like and she knows what his family is like and to stay away from Holly.

Later in the village Cindy is struggling with Hilton when Alex comes up behind her. He offers her help before she realises who it is and tells him to go away. He tells her that he wants his money back and wants the years back from her and he doesn't care if that means taking her life or taking away the things she lives for. Patrick spots how scared Cindy is and warns Alex away before offering to walk Cindy home. Cindy says she doesn't think it's a good idea because of Dodger and Maxine and he insists that he's not a villain. Cindy reluctantly agrees to walk with him.

Sinead is reeling from the public showing of her sex tape with Harry and she confronts him in the village after he's managed to dodge her for the entire day. Esther sees her slapping and pushing him around and pulls her off. Esther tells Sinead that she disgusts her and she will never forgive her for what she said. She tells her that the video has been doing the rounds and Sinead deserves everything she gets. Theresa is passing with Phoebe and Louis and comes to Sineads defense. A crowd is starting to gather including Tony and Clark. Theresa throws some words around and tears in to Esther getting personal about her sexuality and her suicide attempt causing Phoebe to jump to Esthers defense.

Theresa asks Phoebe whose side she's on and in her anger Phoebe says she doesn't blame Louis for going to child services. A stunned Theresa questions whether she's telling the truth and Louis admits that he done it telling Theresa that they vowed to get their acts together after Carmel died and she has bought nothing but hurt and pain to everyone for years and constantly puts herself first. Theresa says she doesn't need to take it and Louis tells her she will take it because that's all she ever does is take.

Phoebe and Louis walk away from Theresa whilst Tony takes Harry in to 'The Hutch'. Esther tells Theresa and Sinead they deserve each other before walking away leaving both the girls stood in the middle of the village humiliated.
