How can I use Unblock-Us on my Chromecast. Easy way?

Hey guys,

So I have a Chromecast that is plugged into the back of my living room TV. I currently subscribe to Unblock-us and Netflix and using my PS3 upstairs, i'm able to tap into other Netflix regions. I've been hoping to try and get unblock-us working on my Chromecast but it seems impossible, the only suggestions I've found is to change the DNS on my router.

This is where it gets tricky, I'm a Sky Fibre Unlimited customer and have both the Fibre modem and Sky router connected to each other. My router is Sky's F@ST2504n which runs on their own firmware (version 7.16a4N_UNI). It seems like Sky have completely disabled the settings to change DNS so this option is now out of the window. To be honest though, I don't feel particularly confident is messing with the router in case I potentially brick it and potentially be without internet access.

Is there anything else I can do, even if it involves buying other pieces of hardware in order to get the Chromecast to work with Unblock-us?

A wireless router ethernet connected to the Sky one. The new one needs to be able to set DNS and ideally null route the Google DNS ip addresses. Call the new router something like "unblockus" and use that for everything you want rerouting and the Sky one for everything else.

This is a good way of doing it. You can use new router to access say Netflix usa, and other to access netflix UK. Switching is easy simply by connecting to appropriate router (each has to have separate WiFi ssid).

You do not have to make any changes to sky router only on new router. I am setup like this.

Many web guides on how to connect two routers and how to use Chromecast with smart DNS using static IP routing (rerouting Google hard coded DNS to router and hence using DNS on router).

If you search my threads over last year or so I go into more detail on above.
