Dont forget she also won it with Harry Judd and was also runner up with Matt Baker so not all were duds! I think everyone of the pros has had duffers at one stage or other.
True but wasn't she put with the ones considered duffers (I don't think either Tony or Gregg should have gone out first) after she gave an interview where she was critical of some BBC high-ups?

Going out in the first round one year is unfortunate. Going out in the first round two years running is suspicious. Going out in the first round three years in a row looks like a vendetta to me.

Very disappointed with the professionals dance. Filmed in reverse and then screened with the overdubbed music. ..why not just CGI the lot in.

Lost respect
Is that really how they did it?

I had to replay the bit where the male dancer shot backwards from the front right of the stage area to the back left, then bounded, again backwards, up the stairs.

Couldn't see how they had done it!!

i think gregg was finding it really difficult, he had some major sort of performance anxiety and i got the impression it was tapping into some pretty deep and difficult stuff for him, so i'm glad it wasn't dragged out as it was painful to watch.

Yes. It was how the glitter confetti magically rose from the floor to their clenched fists. Once you've seen it quite a lot of the moves were obviously filmed and played backwards.

Judy was like a cardboard cut out, a rabbit in the headlights if ever there was one. She should have gone, but Strictly is also about favourites and celebrity-Judy obviously has more of a cheering section than Gregg. A bit sad for him-going out first is like being a discarded crisp bag.

Well I did say I was a bit sad-and I am

But it is true isn't it?-Strictly is such a long journey and to be kicked off at the first opportunity is unfortunate.

EDIT: What makes it worse is that-if I suspect rightly-he thought he had at least at least a week more. I probably did too.

Judy seems like a nice person but there are two issues here.

Does she really count as a celebrity? Fantastic tennis coach that I'm sure she is, would she be considered as any kind of celebrity if she didn't have a famous son? I'm really not sure. Obviously, the show might not care about that as they've tried to get Pippa Middleton in for years, famed for having a Royal sister and a nice arse but at least she has done things to make her famous on her own like writing a book and going out with some aristocratic guy and being more famous than him. However, Judy simply has a famous son. Really don't know there.

The other rule of Strictly is if you're going to be bad, be entertainingly bad and Judy just looks so intently focused on nothing going wrong that she actually looks pained during the dancing and it's uncomfortable to watch. It was at the point yesterday where there wasn't any Cha-Cha. She was simply walking along with Anton seemingly doing some kind of exaggerated shimmy around her as well as sporadically remembering to drag her over to another part of the dance floor.

Judy looks so terrified of it going wrong or disappointing someone, that she looks on the verge of a nervous breakdown on the floor. A few years ago, people commented a lot on Victoria Pendleton and her famed lack of confidence which ended up costing her but Judy is, if anything, worse. Victoria at least attempted the dance even if she wasn't a natural. Judy just isn't dancing and that's the problem.

Well we agree on this one IIIuvator! I think she is perhaps the worst 'celebrity' we have ever had on Strictly? There have been ones that have had to be pulled around or are out of step, just plain bad dancers but Judy just stands there almost refuses to dance. I cant figure out if she is rigid with fear or just rigid!

No she doesn't she seems like a rabid old harridan.

And no, she isn't a celebrity.

I'll be reviewing everyone in much more detail in my blog, but here's a flavour of my thoughts:

Alison - undermarked in comparison to some, loved the routine.
Caroline - same as last week, ie she was probably good but routine was boring to watch.
Frankie - agreed about lack of swivel, still find her a bit bland.
Gregg - looked much better in training, think he's a contender for first out.
Jake - WOW! Fully deserved to be top of the leaderboard, so daring.
Jennifer - so much better than last week, bit undermarked I think.
Judy - didn't see much of this dance, so can't comment. Contender for first out though.
Mark - wtf was he wearing?! Struggled to tell the base dance if I'm honest.
Pixie - Not warming to her, thought she was really overmarked.
Scott - being scuppered by poor song choices, and perhaps choreography too.
Simon - awful routine, don't like either of the pairing.
Steve - best of the non-dancers imo, I've sent a vote his way.
Sunetra - gave a bit more in the performance side, don't think she'll be a dark horse.
Thom - bit better than last week but overmarked, and has no personality.
Tim - so improved, gave him a vote too. Hope he stays in tonight.
Agree.
Alison surely under marked significantly.
Frankie and pixie both accomplished but not got great personalities. I think Frankie has potential to develop that , not so Pixie.
Thom definitely over marked, he's a disappointment and not much better than Judy who is the worst by some way, no style, no rhythm, no personality no warmth

I agree. I don't think they will be bosom buddies afterwards but I think they got on fine.
Yes, and Gregg was not nearly as bad a dancer as I expected him to be, nor was he the horrible partner for Aliona I was expecting after all the hype.

I always feel sorry for the first person to go home and if I'm honest I wish it had been Judy. She seems almost rigid with nerves on the dance floor (even more so than Gregg) and in a way I think it would have been a kindness if she'd been sent home. Unlike some, I really like her (and Anton), but I can't see her overcoming her nerves in any meaningful way that would lead to an improvement in her performance. I don't care that she's not a good dancer. Despite what she says, I think she's enjoying the experience, but hating the live performance.

Thanks for the explanation .....

I thought the BBC were above all this trickery.

Do we know her .. the answer is yes so she has celebrity status. I've had to Google plenty of Strictly celebs before now but Judy is known by practically everyone.
It's a pity she seemingly has no natural aptitude for dance .. it may be partly nerves .. perhaps she can and will improve. She can't have long left in the competition so just to see her relax into it would be something.

Think he was probably rather annoying to work with rather than just his lack of ability
She must have been psychic then .. as she looked thunderous when paired with him.

Don't forget the pros train for the group dance before the launch show so they
see the celebs who can and can't dance. Also those celebs who are likeable. Gregg did not exactly arrive with a squeaky clean reputation either. Lots of negative publicity about him.

Perhaps to Wimbledon watchers (take that out and there is not much left), but there are plenty of people who don't watch it.

As a foreigner, I didn't know who she was (yes, I do sometimes watch tennis, but not up-to-date with the entourage of each tennis player). Whereas people like Jake, Frankie, Jennifer and Sunetra were all familiar faces to me. The big difference to me is that Judy is easy to miss outside the Wimbledon period, whereas most of the others are on our screens during the full year.

Well, I felt sorry for Greg and I thought he was a good sport about it all. I'm not sorry in that I'm not wishing it was someone else, but I felt for him.

I just wanted to say:
1) Please please someone stop the judges dancing in.
2) The camera tricks on the pro dance were unnecessary and bizarre and killed the magic of it for me. They don't need that sort of thing. It's a shame because the pro dance is the best thing about the results show.
3) The show overdoes how handsome several of the men are - imo - to the point of almost putting you off those men, though it's not their fault - and Tristan, who is really handsome, they make no fuss of at all???.
Agree with all those points!

I felt quite sorry for Gregg on the results show. He did seem quite choked up about being in the dance-off. Personally, I thought Scott and Judy were worse on the week two dances but Gregg was worse on his week one dance. From what he was saying, he didn't seem to like performing in the live shows because of the nerves so maybe it's for the best that he's gone.

Would like Judy, Scott or Jennifer to leave next.

She was on Desert Island Disks a few weeks ago. Its worth finding it. A real high-achiever in her own right (which might not endear her to some posters.)
