Did anyone else hear him say "perfection" to Janette when the dance finished (not just once, but twice)? Imagine Natalie or Denise had said that? They would have got an absolute battering on here.
He has definitely had dance training that's plain to see. It's week 2 and he's getting 9s Pixie too. I prefer they would be honest. I don't want Frankie, Pixie or Jake to win. It's the same every year the public always vote the ringers out.
Could we please get the difference between Anna Scher's theatre school and the likes of Sylvia Young sorted out? The first was more of an after-school club to help kids in the East End get some sort of taste for drama, the second was designed to produce all-singing, all-dancing professional performers.
Not making any judgements on the purposes of either, just annoyed at them being lumped in together here.

Rhythm, timing,'good hips', confidence etc are things that you've either got or haven't got. Technique and steps are what can be taught, and that's what the SCD professionals are there for.
Every time there's a contestant on Strictly who can dance a bit they're a ringer.
It's tiresome.

I think that's a fair comment. Pauline Quirke who went to Anna Scher now runs organises something similar all over England with weekend classes (Pauline Quirke Performing Arts Academy). The classes near me are popular.
Like the Charleston for Sophie EB last year, it could turn out to be his best dance - Janette is a Salsa specialist.
Loved the dance and glad that they got to do the Salsa - although in a few weeks, it could probably have been even better.
Janette has a chance to show what she can do and its a big test for her to have someone with a lot of potential. So far she's doing OK.

I was under the assumption that there was no level playing field with SCD and people started at different levels. If it annoys certain people and they cant get their heads round it go and watch that dire Stepping Out that was on last year.
And look at some of the people that have won, they are usually people that have got better throughout the series - not necessarily someone that is wonderful every week.

I am not an East Enders or Jake fan. No way can someone who has very little dance experience give that level of performance. Poor Denise and Natalie got so much stick on these forums and yet Jake is let off.

I've replayed the ending of the Dance x4 and couldn't make out what he was saying, but it didn't sound like perfection.
Can't believe the reaction to the OP, tbh. Even IF Jake Wood has had previous dance experience, it's not his profession, vocation or hobby. By all accounts, he doesn't dance at weddings.
I am a civil servant, but I studied Chemistry at school. That doesn't mean I am a ringer scientist, does it? I might know a bit about the periodic table, but that's it.
I genuinely thought this thread was started as a joke ? He may have gone to stage school or whatever, but most actors will have done the same. They get the basics to prepare them for the future, but has he ever appeared in any musicals ? It's not at all like Denise Van Outen who was a West End/Broadway star.

I am pleased Janette has someone good this year, so people can see what she can actually do more. A lot of the cheering in their routine was for her incredible, back breaking moves!

Not everyone has double standards. I dont like the word ringer for anyone male or female. I like seeing the good dances and don't care if they've had previous dance experience or not.

It is muffled.I've listened to it a dozen times and still can't make out what he said.
As I said,why are you desperately searching for reasons to bring him down? Justifying it by saying previous women have endured the same is ridiculous....chill out and enjoy it,don't stoop to others levels.
