Judging by the current track record, I imagine they'll be dancing it to Ghostbusters.

Yes, last series with Abbey... although we'd best not bring it up, it's still a pretty tender subject....

Nah they are saving Ghostbusters for the first AT.

Rumba to 'I don't want to miss a thing' by Aerosmith could be fabulous if correct. T'was my wedding dance...soppy moo that I am.

Knowing the producers, the whole feel of the dance would be ruined by having Pasha doing the whole thing in a bright orange space suit.

'Jump in the Line' from Beetlejuice has been used on the show before for Anita and Robin's Salsa and we know they're not averse to recycling songs.

Day O from Beetlejuice could also be used

The strut comment could refer to 'Staying Alive', which we've seen for a Samba before with Kelly & Brendan...

That's what I thought, maybe this could be the week that Steve has Samba too?

Kevin calling Frankie Frankenstein on twitter - hint maybe theme from I Frankenstein (misgiving) then I guess tango and if the penny dreadful theme from Frankenstein I guess paso

Also, we have had Argentine Tango this early on - Colin & Kristina, GoldenEye 2 - the Sequel that should never have happened, in Week 3 for Hollywood Night a few years ago.

I'm praying to God we don't see another Unchained Melody, Moon River or You Can't Stop the Beat... I have a funny feeling we might see a Rumba to Show Me Heaven again (hark back to Claire & Brendan, Series 4). It was on a major film soundtrack back in the day! Also, It Must Have Been Love would be nice to see for a Rumba from Pretty Woman. Just a thought...

I think we may see another Zorro/Pirates of the Carribean style Paso, although I personally think it's time to give Scott & Fran's Paso Doble from Strictly Ballroom a third outing.

We'll see...

dont you think Scott and Fran's paso music and dance to similar to the Kev/Suzanne paso in feel from last year

I think this really will be an awful week for music hope they do not re hash some of the awful ones from the past particularly the rumbas - awful

That seems about right. SCD producers never have a clue what salsa music sounds like so using a piece of Calypso or Soca makes complete sense - NOT! (wish we still had the rolls eyes smilie)

Not really. In essence, every Paso Doble should have a Paso Doble 'feel' to it. Scott & Fran's is not a trad piece of music, but it has a trad feel to it. Los Toreadors is a timeless piece of trad music.

I would like to see someone dancing to "South American Getaway" (from Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid) to a Viennese Waltz. From memory I don't think this piece of music has been used before and would be ideal for Movie/Hollywood week.

Did that little VT during the results show actually give any clues to the dances or was it just some random filler and not relevant at all? I've watched it a couple of times now so I hope I didn't waste my time Anyway, this is what I got from it so I hope they are clues:
Caroline and Pasha were wearing space themed outfits so I'd say the Armageddon guess is a good one.
Simon and Kristina were both wearing matching glasses which just makes me think of Men in Black and the Blues Brothers but I'd say Saturday Night Fever is more likely with the strut comment.
Tim had some sort of hat and a stick (I think) and Natalie had one of those headband type things with a feather in it so I'd guess that they're doing a Charleston? I'm not sure whether that's right or not
Judy and Anton both had umbrellas so maybe Singin' in the Rain?
Steve and Ola were in the jungle which makes me think of Tarzan and the Jungle Book, though it's probably neither.
Thom was in a sailor type outfit so maybe something from On the Town?
Pixie and Trent were sat down and were surrounded by teacups and Pixie was looking in a mirror. I have no clue for this one whatsoever.
Jake and Janette were standing side-by-side and Jake was wearing a fedora type hat so maybe some sort of mob type film. I can only think of Bugsy Malone but that's probably really unlikely.
Scott was wearing a red wig and there was a watery effect on the screen so I'd guess at the Little Mermaid. Either Kiss the Girl or Under the Sea but probably the latter. Might not be that at all though.

Sorry if this is the wrong place to post this, I didn't know where else I could put it. Anyway, I love it when they have a movie or musical theme. I'd love for someone to dance to Once Upon a Dream from Sleeping Beauty. That would be so lovely Anything from Chicago would be awesome too. Oh, and I was listening to it earlier so it's quite fresh in my mind, but I think that Welcome to Burlesque from Burlesque would be a great song to dance to. Sounds almost Tangoey Ooh, and El Tango De Roxanne from Moulin Rouge would be perfect. I love that song so much, especially the instrumental version. I doubt they'll dance to anything like that though.

Oh, I only just realised that I only guessed at films and not actual dances. Sorry about that I'm still not very good at pairing music with the correct dances. I tried guessing the films though but I doubt I got any right

I'd guess we'll probably get a dance from 'The Great Gatsby', even though Natalie and Artem's Charleston was from that last year.

Los Toreadors might be trad to the bullring but not normally used for paso in comps etc in fact in over 30 years of judging not judged to it - but was thankful it was at least spanish music they used I loathe the Strictly music choices and the more I read the thread of what the music could be the more I dread next week

Well Did You Evah/Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? - High Society - Foxtrot/American Smooth
Que Sera Sera - The Man Who Knew Too Much - Viennese Waltz
Pure Imagination - Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory - Waltz
Footloose - Footloose - Jive
Midnight Cowboy Theme/Everybody's Talking - Midnight Cowboy - Viennese Waltz/Waltz
Live and Let Die - Live and Let Die - Paso
Nobody Does It Better - The Spy Who Loved Me - Rumba
Diamonds Are Forever - Diamonds Are Forever - Viennese Waltz
We Have All the Time In the World - On Her Majesty's Secret Service - Viennese Waltz
The Look of Love - Casino Royale (Original Version) - Rumba
When the Going Gets Tough - The Jewel in the Nile - Samba
Theme from The Piano - The Piano - Viennese Waltz
I Wanna Be Loved By You - Some Like It Hot - Foxtrot/American Smooth
Into the Groove - Desperately Seeking Susan - Cha Cha Cha
Theme from Bullitt - Bullitt - Argentine Tango
Theme from The Third Man - The Third Man - Argentine Tango
The Way We Were - The Way We Were - Rumba

I think these songs would be suitable, and they all were written specifically for the films they are in, but, if past Movie Weeks are to go by, they will be using songs with very tenuous links to films or non-iconic songs from modern, non-iconic films.

The Pixie & Trent clip might be to do with 'Alice in Wonderland'? (teacups, looking glass etc) I don't know songs from that though.

Alice through the looking Glass for Pixie and Trent, perhaps? Mirrors, teacups etc. What's songs are in that film? The Johnny Depp one. Doesn't he sing some chaotic song, possibly Quickstep-ish?

I did think about Alice in Wonderland but I'm not really sure where the mirror comes into it? There's a sweet little song called In a World of My Own in it but I'm not sure what dance that would fit. Don't think they'll use that. Actually, I don't think any song from Alice in Wonderland would work Oh, I mean the Disney version from 1951. Not sure about the Tim Burton one.

Edit: Oh, actually I've just remembered something. In the end credits of the Tim Burton version there's a song called Alice by Avril Lavigne. Maybe that one? It's got a sort of haunting vibe. Slightly eerie-ish but still very Avril Lavigne

The Lana Del Rey version? Oh, that would be so lovely I do love the original from Sleeping Beauty, though A bit more traditional which is what I'd like to see more of on Strictly. It's quite a recent film though, so it's possible that they may use it

Teacups and a mirror for Pixie could also be Beauty and the Beast. Tale as old as time? But surely that's a waltz piece which she's just done.... Although based on song choices she'll be tango-ing to it :-S
