great dance and great dancer but not a paso just a routine to paso music - though one of my fave films and fave dance from it

It has more paso in it than most recent pasos.

They used America for a jazz number on DWTS recently for their movie week and they were contacted during the week and told they couldn't use any choreography from the movie they were only allowed to use the music.

America was also used for Zoe and Ian's freestyle which is still one of my favourite strictly freestyles slip and all and it was paso inspired so a paso could work.

So presumably Mark will be dressed as Clark Kent/Superman (fly on a wire?)
Thom will have a white Navy uniform
Simon will be Top Gun
Jake will be dressed as a gangster
Tim - not sure, some sort of 30s cabaret suit, perhaps with the make-up perhaps not
Steve is going to be dressed as a monkey
Scott will be dressed as a crab

Not totally an even playing field is it.

they never are an even playing field - though some 'themes' not as disruptive on the dancer as others - dressed as a crab is just wrong for their sake hope Scott goes this week

Ahem to "Don't want to miss a thing" for anyone who watched the last season of Angel I'm with Lorne who threatened to kill someone for singing anything written by Diane Abbot - hate that woman and any her horrible works.

Forgot about Zoe and Ian's freestyle just watched it and if music arranged in similar way agree a paso could work

Psst.. I think you mean Diane Warren.

Unless the MP for Hackney North and Stoke Newington wrote I Don't Wanna Miss a Thing?

Pleasantly surprised that they are giving the Cha Cha Cha a week off considering it's heavily overused normally at the start of the series. However the crab Samba sounds obviously appalling.

Mark Ballas and Candace danced a samba to Under the Sea on Dwts last season. Mark didn't go all out crab costume, though. He just wore claws .

The only dance we've yet to see apart from the Argentine Tango is the Viennese Waltz. If you care about that sort of thing.

I absolutely LOVED Disney week on DWTS wish Strictly had stolen that idea!

Apart from the I Don't Want To Miss A Thing dirge (one of the most overplayed, overrated songs ever) the song selections are a lot better this week. Less generic and more exciting.

Oh and Footloose is generic rubbish too. But overall the choices are an improvement.

I'm gonna miss it tonight. I have work later and then I'm going to a quiz evening.

I know that when I finish work I'm going to want to out my pyjamas on watch Strictly.

Looking forward to catching up tomorrow morning.

“Jake and Janette are Waltzing to the ‘Godfather Waltz’ by Nina Rota from the unforgettable mobster flick ‘The Godfather’.”

Ridiculously excited about this one. Obviously great things are expected from Jake after his last two performances (he looked great in the snippet of training I caught) and it's always a relief when an iconic piece of music isn't wasted on a no-hoper

I wish we had more instrumentals on the show so it's a real treat to get two (?) this week.

I must ask though, what happened to Beetlejuice/Jump in the Line for Jennifer and Tristan? Was he teasing, or was the routine binned, I wonder.

Think Tristan was saying what he would pick not what was picked

I love Tim, but I kind of wish "Money" had been given to Jake/Sunetra, it runs the risk with Tim of just being campy, when it really needs an injection of the macabre that the actors would be good with.
