Official explanation for the BBC's change of schedule on Saturday just gone:

Make of that what you will.
Someone scheduled the Lottery show later than it was allowed to be shown? Whoops!

UK TV Ratings ‏@TVRatingsUK 18s18 seconds ago
Channel 5's new US import #Gotham made a strong start at 9pm last night with 2.05m/9.3%, putting it above BBC2 and C4.

Overnights.tv ‏@overnightstv 43s43 seconds ago
#Gotham made a decent start on Channel 5 at 9pm with 1.7m/7.8%, and further 316.7k/2.1% on C5+1 http://www.overnights.tv

#MIC returns with 740k on E4. #TVRatings
OK there for Gotham but very strong for MIC - I've hardly seen this premiere promoted (although it followed on so soon after MIC NYC that they didn't really have time!).

Dont know why she is tweeting peaks when the average is very good anyway.
Because the peak is better? It's a perfectly valid measurement of a TV shows performance.

IMO Peter Fincham needs to go.
Fincham is like Alex Ferguson - been around the block and he'll not be forced out on one bad year. Some years will be better than others and then he'll start rebuilding a new line-up. I doubt Crozier will be pushing him out any time soon.

But if it's just more middle-of-the-road female-skewing content then it'll just interest the same advertisers who take slots on ITV the rest of the time, stretching those advertisers' budgets and hampering the amount the ITV can hope for from their existing content in the process. If they want to continue to take the megabucks from the beer companies of this world in the same way the football allows them to then they need to make programming which the demographics that those companies want to reach will want to watch.

Sorry if I'm stating the obvious here but ITV just don't need any more middle-class female-skewing content
They've been asking producers to pitch male skewing series to them.

IAC Launch will be down year on year, mark my words.
What's the point in marking your words? When someone is wrong as often as you are, those statements become totally empty.

Yeah, huge. More popular than the last two XF finals. Talking of which, Simon Cowell has SLAMMED Great British Bake Off as boring: http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/tv/s215/...hallenger.html
It's Wednesday - right in the middle of the week. If ever there was a day to drop the XF agenda then this should be it. And the whole "SLAMMED" crap has been blown out of the water anyway on this thread although you persist, as ever, with your misinformation.

Itv believe in it and have huge faith in it to air it in the prime Sunday night January slot. With that kind of brilliant slot chosen for it, they clearly are hoping for big things for GYAT. We shall see if their risk pays off...
You don't know any of this to be true. Maybe they thought it was the best option they had available to them at the time from ITV Studios? All new commissions are "risks", GYAT is no more a risk than any other series.

Apprentice might rise tonight. Spoke to two people who both missed it last night but will be watching tonight. Everyone who watched it last night will be watching it again.
It was Tues/Wed last year and the Wednesday was down, but of course its much later in the year this time.
Not sure about that, the two other times they've done the two day launch it dips on the second day. Series 7 was down 0.69m on its Tuesday episode and Series 9 was down 0.8m. I can see it holding up better tonight though.

I thought they had done it more than twice, this time they had to do it to get it finished by Christmas, which is also why we should definitely get a Sunday final this year.
The Apprentice has much stronger competition tonight from ITV with Scott & Bailey and Channel 4 with Grand Designs. If it stays level to last night or grows it will be a shock. Lots of positive feedback to last night's launch which will help The Apprentice.

Doesn't explain why it always used to be at 10.35 on Wednesday, does it?
I suppose the new contract with no Wednesday shows must be a bit stricter. Maybe there are exemptions for live sport, but not for Donny Osmond.

I think finding programmes that get more than 2m on a Tuesday is the main thing for now.
We used to laugh and point at ITV going under 3m on Tuesdays, but now they're sometimes barely over 1m.

Sorry Samuel, but you did write 12.29m didn't you? 12.29m? Blimey!!! That is a shockingly enormous figure! Thanks for that.
And it was up to 13.4m the last time I asked Yog for an update a couple of days ago. The final rating is out tomorrow. It will be big.

Going under 2m on a weeknight is inexcusable. It's like they put zero thought or effort into non Champions League Tuesdays.

Do we have a rating for yesterday's Bad Education?

Will BBC1 maintain the week on week ratings at 8pm tonight, I wonder?

Is there 20 episodes of a Waterloo Road left, is that correct?

Logically ITV post CL could schedule as follows:
7.00 Emmerdale
8.00 All Star Mr and Mrs
9.00 Lewis
10.00 News at Ten.
This would zap the awful cheap factual and provide ITV with at least 4 million viewers.
If they end up having an hour of ED on Tuesdays, they should split it and show the second half at 8pm. It should at least keep the programme in the 8.30-9pm slot over 2m because viewers have nowhere obvious to go with no junctions on other main channels.

Denting EastEnders has no financial benefit if everyone turns over at 8pm to watch Holby or whatever's on BBC Two/C4/C5.

Things like Sound of Music Live or 3 part dramas like Arthur and George dont matter, they are effectively scheduling filler. No one gives a damn about them. The above Five on the other hand are huge shows for them which must do well, millions of ££ of ad revenue dependent upon.
You do like to post in extremes don't you. The Sound of Music will be a multi-hour live event for which they will likely demand rather large ad rates particularly given the success of the exact same idea in the US last year. To suggest that no one within or without ITV gives a damn about it or three part dramas (one of which has been among ITV's biggest success of the year this year) is utterly ridiculous. Its posts of this nature that force people to dismiss everything you have to contribute to the thread.

The prime Sunday night January slot? You make it sound as if this is some historically huge night for ITV not where they've aired the slowly dying Dancing on Ice for a couple of years too many. Are we really already in the business of creating unrealistic expectations for a show that doesn't launch for months yet?

Pretty good figure there for TA out of it's usual Wednesday slot. Happy with that.
The Apprentice launched with 8.1m in 2009! I forgot about that one! DAMN!

You must have missed that daily posts he made about Rising Star, which now looks quite ridiculous.

Interesting that it's found itself up against Scott & Bailey again, 17 months later.

Plus Grand Designs at 9pm on Channel 4 and Can't Pay, We Take It Away on Channel 5. Factual competition for The Apprentice. And all rating much higher than The Apprentice's Tuesday competition. Logic dictates that the rating will be down tonight.

Is that I'm a Celeb tease just generic or are we meant to read anything into the Wizard of Oz/Kansas theme in the two images?

Perhaps they have got someone (vaguely) connected to the film.

Options: - Lorna Luft?

Or, as its ITV, Toto?

It does sound a lot like the Madeleine McCann case from the BBC publicity albeit a boy rather than girl. But I like anything with Jimmy Nesbitt.

I liked Murphy's Law, but I think that's the highest-rated show he's ever topped the bill in. I think this series will struggle in the ratings.
