Broadcast gives Strictly's 5-minute peak on Saturday as 10.0m to one decimal place (47.1%) at 19:45. We already had the 15-minute peak from DS which was 9.99m (46.1%) in the quarter-hour to 20:00. So it held a very strong 10.0m throughout the 15 minutes before the clash but didn't creep any higher (to one decimal place) during that period.
Meanwhile ITV Media confirms its full-slot average on Saturday as 8.840m (42%). With five minutes deleted at either end of its 18:20-20:30 scheduled slot to generate the tape-checked rating, we can work out the average of those lost 10 minutes: 6.20m. When the 18:23-18:25 and 20:25-20:27 periods are added back in for BARB's officials, there'll be a downwards tape-checking adjustment, it seems. |

Well I quite enjoyed Grantchester, though I had been sure I wouldn't.
I think it will be in the high 5's or even above 6. |

Channel 5 taking a chance next Monday putting Gotham up against the walking dead.
But by then it may have locked in a loyal audience of its own if all goes well. And in the case of The Walking Dead, the actual audience that watch live as it goes out probably isn't that great. Many will watch at some point on the night of the broadcast, many more will catch up at some point within the 7 day window. It's not necessarily appointment-to-view despite being an in demand piece of content, and it's important Gotham doesn't come under the same category as whilst that may be fine for a pay network like Fox it won't work for C5 if it doesn't do good business in the overnights. But it will have every chance there IMO and I'm optimistic without being confident that it will do well. |

It's getting daft now. Moaning all summer when they didn't air much drama and now moaning all autumn that they are showing the wrong type of drama. Who knows what they will have coming up next year. Just because we don't know doesn't mean it will be a light slate.

On the subject of TWD, the last episode of Season 4 brought about by some distance a season high rating for the repeat run on 5*: Quote:
5 THE WALKING DEAD (SAT 2257) 388,000 Maybe some FOX UK viewers tuning in to remind themselves how things ended ahead of the new season starting? 6 THE WALKING DEAD (SAT 2159) 340,000 ![]() At the beginning of the run it was only doing around 200,000 but it did come back rather suddenly at short notice and with little fanfare. It did well to climb through the run and has probably done enough for it to be worth bringing back again. I can imagine it suits FOX as well, all good exposure for the show. |

Not sure if it's been posted yet but another new EastEnders trailer http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p02836nz
There is more drama this Autumn then there was throughout much of 2012 and the whole of 2013 put together. |

Was looking at Corrie's 50th ratings and they are just amazing, something for EE to try and aim for (though obviously it's 4 years on). Coronation Street 50th Anniversary (Tram Crash) Ratings Mon December 6th to Friday December 10th, 2010 Code:
Mon 19.30 – 13.03m Mon 20.30 – 14.75m (tram crashes) Tue 20.30 – 13.09m Wed 19.00 – 12.60m Thu 20.00 – 14.72m (hour-long live episode) Fri 19.30 – 13.18m Fri 20.30 – 13.46m — Average: 13.55m |

Amazing stuff. EE stands to hit a great height for its 30th in February, I reckon it will get amazing figures. It's definitely by far the best soap on the box at the moment and this looks like it will be the case right up until February and maybe beyond.
Was looking at Corrie's 50th ratings and they are just amazing, something for EE to try and aim for (though obviously it's 4 years on). Coronation Street 50th Anniversary (Tram Crash) Ratings Mon December 6th to Friday December 10th, 2010 Code:

A Massive Number of hard hitting Issues being raised. Don't be shocked to learn tonights episode will have gained complaints. The rape scene was dark, gritty and very powerful. I do think some viewers would have complained. While Corrie had a massive week of numbers for it's 50th EastEnders seemed to have 10million viewers right from xmas until late February so the whole of the 'Who killed Archie?' Saw a bump from start to finish. I really do think we will see that again this time around. I think the 30th Is going to be much bigger and it seems Dom and the BBC are planning to blow the 25th right out of the water. |

September was a busy month for new US imports arriving on diginets. So how did they get on?
Legends (Sky1) Episode 1: Unknown Episode 2: 657,000 The Strain (Watch) Episode 1: 578,000 Episode 2: 457,000 (-21%) The Leftovers (Sky Atlantic) Episode 1: 457,000 Episode 2: 364,000 (-20%) Tyrant (Fox) Episode 1: 150,000 Episode 2: Unknown Friends With Better Lives (Comedy Central) Episode 1: 139,000 [exc. +1] Note: No data available for either episode 1 or episode 2 of Sky1's The Last Ship but ep3 posted a strong 656k, an almost identical audience to that achieved by ep2 of Legends in the same ratings week. consolidated viewing figures - see www.barb.co.uk Legends appears to have started strongly and might well be a hit. Early days though and for all we know its dropoff from ep1 to ep2 could have been as severe as those experienced by The Strain and The Leftovers. Too early to write off either especially The Strain but Sky might be slightly disappointed with the latter as that one has been plugged to death including post launch. Predictably underwhelming for Tyrant and I wouldn't be altogether surprised if this one was to disappear from Fox's top 10, meanwhile the odds were always stacked against the shortlived Friends With Better Lives doing anything substantial on debut. This October Forever (Sky1) Gotham (Channel 5) The Knick (Sky Atlantic) Stalker (Sky Living) How To Get Away with Murder (Universal) The Flash (Sky1) Dominion (SyFy) |

Hmm, I'll be looking out for Kush. ![]() Quote:
Astonishing considering EastEnders for the week was 9.29m, 10.15m, 7.00m and 10.22m, averaging 9.17m. That week, Corrie’s average was 4.38m higher than EastEnders.

Emmerdale had 8.37m officially (exc HD) for its Thursday hour-long in 2010, no doubt super-charged by the Corrie week.
Hopefully EastEnders will cope better with the clash tomorrow.

Just watched The Kitchen. Great little show, enjoyed it. I think this could be a hit for BBC2. Its also made by the same people who do Gogglebox for Ch4. Copycats those BBC2 lot.
![]() If this is a hit, I predict a mass of these coming through. The Dining Room, The Vestibule, The Car Journey, The Attic, The Bedroom ...............

Has anyone seen an X Factor trailer today? I'm fairly sure it will be 19:30 as they would have had the EPGs changed by now otherwise...wouldn't they? |
