Nice performance from Grantchester there. Both this and Cilla performed well in this Monday slot. Like to see dramas doing well.

Hold that thought! Only 930k for The Kitchen.

It's a good rating for Grantchester but it's in a similar situation to Our Zoo where even a decent launch figure looks a little disappointing, and no I'm not talking about you Samuel, I'm talking about all the others who have been labelling it a hit since the start of the year. What's really important is how it does next week, staying steady with this audience would be great and give ITV a solid returnable drama, but it doesn't really have that much room to fall.

So it drop to the low 5m excl+1 by the end of the episode. Not that hit I thought it would be, it was just too slow and really dull. It needed something to give it kick up the backside.

That's pretty good if unspectacular for Grantchester. It didn't appeal to me really, so I've no idea if it was any good or not.

New Tricks also appears to have levelled off now, and that is still a respectable number.

Shame, it was a very amusing little show. But it is probably the type of thing that can grow - a couple of people at work this morning said they had no idea it was on, but flicked over in an ad break & got hooked. Word of mouth could be a big helper.

15 min breakdowns can be a tad misleading sometimes, as they depend on the placement of ad breaks. Particularly as the last 15 mins is likely to have the 3rd ad break and finish a few minutes early as well.

On a separate note, looks like Coronation Street is back as the nation's favourite soap!!

A reasonable start for Grantchester - have a feeling it might drop a bit next week though.

Could be 7m officials though which would be good. Likely to drop next week though - but unless it drops substantially should return I would have thought.

New Tricks was shown at 2235 in Northern Ireland

ITV have axed Friday showings of TXF according to The Sun

Or the fact that they were only ever planned for those two weeks of Boot Camp/Judges Houses anyway!

Usual tabloid accuracy

Surely they we're only going to be doing it for those two weeks anyway?

One rating doesn't make a trend. EastEnders did well on Friday and was over 7m again. Corrie is resilient, for all the talk of how bad it is ratings are holding up. EastEnders beating Corrie on Mondays hasn't happened in God knows how long.

New Tricks is in a real mess and the ratings indicate viewer displeasure with the drama, how low will it go we don't know. From a personal standpoint I'd end it this year and not bother bringing it back for a final season.

The drama is dead.

The Friday X Factor showings were only on for two weeks anyway.

I sense the majority of us not believing ITV or The Sun on the XF story then.

Haven't checked the timings, but remember the soaps may need to be tape-check-adjusted.

4m for The One Show is good - that may even be tape-check-adjusted upwards as it sometimes is on a Monday, with a usually lower-rating show following.
