One rating doesn't make a trend. EastEnders did well on Friday and was over 7m again. Corrie is resilient, for all the talk of how bad it is ratings are holding up. EastEnders beating Corrie on Mondays hasn't happened in God knows how long.
Easter Monday was it not?

I don't think it beat both with plus one. Friday was an outright win that couldn't be argued over.

I'm pretty sure Corrie was over 9m last year at this point. Let me just check.............

Decent start for Granchester, the breakdown looks ok too. Brilliant rating for Hollyoaks with an 8 month high of 1.2m as well.

Good start for Grantchester. Maybe looks a little underwhelming in light of how well Cilla did but that's still a very solid start and it comfortably beat New Tricks.

Elsewhere, quiz/daytime numbers from Paul B on Bother's Bar:

BBC One

Bargain Hunt 2.08 (31.2%)
Perfection 0.97 (14.3%)
Antiques Road Trip 2.01 (18.8%)
Pointless (R) 3.27 (23.2%)

BBC Two

Flog It (R) 0.82 (5.8%)
Eggheads 1.21 (7.2%)
Strictly Come Dancing: It Takes Two 1.49 (8.2%)
Celebrity Antiques Road Trip 1.52 (7.5%)
University Challenge 2.63 (12.0%)
Only Connect 1.87 (8.4%)

ITV (Including +1)

Dickinson’s Real Deal 0.95 (13.8%)
Who’s Doing The Dishes 0.95 (10.2%)
The Chase 2.82 (21.0%)

Channel 4 (Including +1)

Countdown 0.57 (7.9%)
Deal or No Deal 0.75 (8.0%)
Four in a Bed 0.82 (6.7%)
Come Dine With Me 1.04 (7.1%)

ITV2 (including +1)

The X Factor (R) 0.31 (1.4%)
Release the Hounds 0.57 (2.6%)

Sky 1

Duck Quacks Don’t Echo 0.24 (1.1%)

That's a new high for Release The Hounds. Also The Chase seems to be picking up some heat at last. Pointless way above 3m means it is still in the lead though. Dickinson looks a lot healthier at 2pm too.

I'm pretty sure Corrie was over 9m last year at this point. Let me just check.............
Last year the first Corrie had 9.18m (42.2%) and the second got 8.91m (38.4%). Including +1.

This year the first Corrie had 7.74m (37.3%). Not sure on the 8.30pm episode yet as DS haven't bothered to mention +1. It got 7.46m (33.4%) without it so was probably around 7.6m (34%) with it.

So down quite a bit. It is slowly creeping up but there is a lot of work to do but nobody involved with the show seems to be doing anything to stop the rot.

Last year's ratings in brackets:

Emmerdale - 6.38m/32.5% +1: 163k (7.13m/35.5% +1: 211k)
Coronation Street - 7.63m/36.8% +1: 106k (8.95m/41.1% +1: 229k)
EastEnders - 7.04m/32.1% BBC3: 388k (6.93m/30.5% BBC3: 338k)
Coronation Street - 7.46m/33.4% +1: ? (8.77m/37.8% +1: 137k)

http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/s1...oRZXwgSaHaNbvP

I was hoping for a little more from EastEnders, but then I thought the total audience would be up last night and looking at EE's share it was actually a little down (21.93m at 8pm last night vs 22.48m last week, if I've worked it out correctly.)

Tonight's ratings should be interesting, after last night's episode you'd think EE would be able to hold up better against Emmerdale, but it can't rely on the BBC Three repeat tonight as that's been moved to 1.30am for the next six weeks.

Its incredible to think that ITV don't want to best rating for Corrie, and that the top bosses can't even see these steep declines. It doesn't matter if its still top soap, its down over 1m YOY. Its only going to get worse as we head into Winter, those shares will drop substantially.

Release The Hounds up from last week's 465k, to a new high of 570k.

I'm really pleased about this, its a good show and very different to anything else on TV. t look like a keeper. ITV2 bosses were right to recommission it.

Loads of ratings today!! Brilliant stuff. Thanks Mike, Score, and others for roundups.

A bit underwhelming for Grantchester but still a good number. New Tricks actually looks fairly healthy against it, not far off.

Think I've detected who the snake in the grass is!

I too hoped EE could beat out Corrie last night. One swallow doesn't make a summer unfortunately but I think it will continue to rise through the summer. Main thing is it's over 7m.

I'm talking about Easter Monday this year. Dan said EastEnders beat Corrie, but the BBC1 rating didn't beat beat both Corrie episodes outright including +1. It did last Friday.

ITV haven't even got Grantchester up on ITVplayer yet. No wonder hey have less viewers than BBC iplayer when they fail to get programmes up online shortly after they've aired. Major fail.

Does anyone know what "24 Hours in Police Custody" (C4, 9pm) and "Under the Dome" (C5, 10pm) got last night?

Many thanks!

I sense the majority of us not believing ITV or The Sun on the XF story then.
The Sun says ITV thinks XFactor on a friday was a failed experiment which will never again likely to be repeated.

Pointless looks like it's in repeats now.
The question here is why have Pointless gone into repeats at such a peak time of year. There does seem to be an element of taking the audience for granted, because they know the numbers will barely change.

Well I'd agree, the ratings were a lot lower compared to Saturday & Sunday figures, it was overkill having it on 3 nights if I'm honest. I can only imagine much of it's target audience were out and some may have forgot it was on at first.
