The One Show must have been low as well before Inside Out. That or 2 million turned off before Inside Out. BTW, Inside Out was good last night

EE ran to time last Monday so I don't think that will see a tape-checking boost. 2nd Corrie definitely should though.

4.18m/20% full-slot for TOS as per ITVM; usually it increases slightly when tape-checked on a Monday.

Plenty of articles out there slating PC he almost single handedly ripped the heart out of the show.

Worst possible rating for Eastenders. Emmerdale beating it on Monday makes it look even worse.

Dan2008 will probably be on here soon using the half term excuse.

Inside Out normally gets over 3 million but maybe Afghanistan was a switch-off for viewers (we have had a lot about it recently). Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland show their own programmes which are usually non-news.

I really like this schedule. I would just cut SCD back to an hour and have Brave as the film. I think they'll put Doctor who back to 5 ish like 2012.

Thanks .

I was thinking of putting Brave as the animated film of the day but I just don't feel it is a big enough film and does not have that 'popular' aspect to it that other films such as Shrek or Toy Story has. Saying that, it being set within the united kingdom (Scotland) may be enough of a reason for the BBC to stick it on Christmas Day. IMO, it will not rate too well though - 3.5m-4.5m?

Looks like Broadchurch 2 will launch in January. Sunday or Monday?

Why wouldn't they air it on Monday again?

I think they probably will and it is probably where it'd do best. I guess the logic of airing it on Sunday is that their Sunday Q1 schedule is pretty barren and this could make them very competitive at 9pm at least, whilst the cushier Monday slot could then be used for new dramas.

That could risk lower ratings for Broadchurch though and it might look very out of place leading out of Get Your Act Together or whatever they opt for. Plus it leaves Mr Selfridge without a slot.

Any figures for GMB as we are now into half-term ?
D.M.N.
28-10-2014
Monday 20th October 2014 - Consolidated, inc +1
Grantchester - 6.23m (21.3%)
New Tricks - 5.75m (20.1%)
Gotham - 3.05m (10.4%)
Loose Women - 1.32m (18.4%)
- first episode following the death of Lynda Bellingham

Reading that Attentional didn't tape-check yesterday's ITV soaps. Assuming the timings were the same as last Monday, then, and this includes +1...

19:00 to 19:25 - Emmerdale: 6.87m (33.5%)
* peak: 7.22m (34.6%)
19:30 to 20:00 - Coronation Street: 8.19m (38.6%)
* peak: 8.87m (40.8%)
20:30 to 20:55 - Coronation Street: 8.45m (36.8%)
* peak: 8.75m (37.7%)

I bet you £1 that Puss in Boots is BBC1's Christmas afternoon movie. Madagascar 3 or Brave are just not big enough. Puss in Boots keeps the Shrek theme going.

I'm wondering if Broadchurch 2 will be any good, it's got a lot to live up to.

Indeed it does. Have ITV acquired the rights to show Gracepoint? Even though it seems it is a disaster in the States.

You can tell it's nearly Christmas with talk of fantasy schedules ”

Sorry what is The Boy In The Dress? If it's another David Walliams tragedy then I'm inclined to think they won't show it on Christmas Day. Gangsta Granny didn't really do well enough last year to merit this year's version being given a slot on the big day. But I suppose it's a possibility..

Brave had a cinema running length of 93 minutes, with the difference in frame rates when transferred to TV would it fit into an 85 minute slot? If not then shift everything back by 10 minutes and knock 10 minutes off Strictly. Perhaps if AlexiR is right in that McIntyre only got the Xmas Day slot last time due to sparsity of options then they could stick a late film in instead? Can't see SOAH being shifted from Boxing Day where it did so damned well last year.

Something like this:

Spoiler

15:00 Her Maj
15:10 Brave
16:45 BBC News
17:00 The Boy in the Dress
18:00 SCD
19:00 EE
19:30 Doctor Who
20:30 EastEnders
21:00 Miranda - the second episode might be extended but I doubt the penultimate one will
21:30 Mrs Brown's Boys
22:05 BBC News
22:20 Philomena

Or maybe, given Holby City was allowed to go on Christmas Eve last year "because it was a Tuesday", they'll do something radical like this:

Spoiler

15:00 Her Majesty The Queen's Christmas Abdication
15:10 Brave
16:45 BBC News
17:00 Pointless Celebrities - UKIP edition
17:55 Doctor Farage
18:55 The One Show 2014 highlights with Nigel Farage
19:00 EastEnders
20:00 Watchdog investigates UKIP
21:00 Miranda
21:30 Mrs Farage's Boys
22:00 Not Going Out
22:30 BBC News
22:40 Question Time (live from the Farage living room)
23:40 This Week

Less than a month to go

So "Gotham" shed around 8k viewers in a week and 3% down on its audience share. Wonder if it will continue its decline week on week or hold up with time shifting.

It would be good to get the correct facts on this. It actually fell 750k.

But no doubt 3.05M for ep2 is an excellent result. An awful lot of wriggle room from there and already signs in the overnights that it could be stabilising.

Really pleased as it's highly watchable.

I don't have week-by-week ratings for the seventies, just whichever ones they wanted to mention in the BBC Handbook. I think Open Door was generally in that slot because it was totally uncompetitive and it was a bit of PSB when nobody was watching. A rather more appealing line-up on BBC1 on the same day - http://genome.ch.bbc.co.uk/schedules...don/1975-10-11 A big day for Grandstand, you note.

Open Door was on Saturday teatime for many years and I've got a Radio Times from 1982 where there are complaints that an edition by CND about nuclear disarmament was shown opposite Jim'll Fix It, and this was an obvious example of BBC bias because they clearly put it opposite a programme popular with young people to ensure nobody watched it.”

Thanks Steve, very informative. Had no idea it was the 1000th Grandstand that day. I have a (scary) photo of the set that the Beeb gave me afterwards. Had no clue then, of course, it would be the first of many TV appearances. So I kept it assuming it might be my one and only.

That Genome thing is certainly very entertaining.
