I think so. The Apprentice with an 8m lead-in from Bake Off compared to a 4m (if you're lucky), lead-in from Holby City and Waterloo Road next week.

A lot of Bake Off viewers will be tweeting about The Apprentice next week. It has a young, upmarket demo that ITV would love, plus it appeals to a similar crowd generally.

Just finished watching Our Zoo. What a truly fantastic series. Drama of the year for me, with Cilla 1 step behind.

Who's to decide what gets the highest ratings, but the viewers. Yes there are better dramas out there (Our Zoo), but that doesn't mean DA is any less deserving of its ratings. Its comfort viewing for many and is nice for Sunday nights.

Mr Selfridge is another that deserves more, but just doesn't seem to be that way to attract the masses.

I don't think anyone has said DA is the greatest costume drama ever, its just that some dramas hit the right note with the audience, and some don't. Does CTM deserve its high viewing figures more than DA? Or are they both just comfort Sunday night viewing than has captured millions of viewers.

Like CTM they are both great dramas, but not the best period dramas of them all. They just have the right content that connects with the audience.

Possibly. But what a launchpad for The Apprentice it would provide. It's also already being promoted heavily this week anyway. Just noticed on iPlayer that Bake Off is number 1 already. Could a large rating be on the cards?

Each week its been no1 at this time. I suspect we will be in for a big rating but Bake-Off climbs I player quickly anyway each week.

I'm sure it's usually in the morning when Bake Off goes to number one. Still it's impressive either way. As is an Apprentice meet the contestants clip on iPlayer being number one earlier. An Autumn start might boost The Apprentice as it has been so long since the previous series.

Wonder how "Cat Watch" performed last night, I didn't realise it was a consecutive night series so had to watch on catch up. But its been fascinating. Hope it holds on to the audience and they weren't expecting a weekly show! Could do with another "Dog Watch" show now. Amazing how the two species react so differently towards their owners!!

At the moment the England ratings are down a bit and if the team continue to decline as I think they will its bound eventually to further affect them. Its going to be fascinating to see how they go over the next few years - who knows England might start playing well !!
