(Didn't realise Peter Andre is now presenting 60 Minute Makeover, How utterly bizarre).

I saw his name on it last year. ITV want to turn Peter Andre into a major star. Good luck with that! One of the reasons why BBC1 daytime does well is because they mix it up a bit with programming such as drama.

They would be better off trying to turn Jimmy Bullard into a major star !!

Coronation Street 7.30pm - 8.21m (38.1%), 115k (0.5%) on +1
Coronation Street 8.30pm - 8.23m (35.7%), 172k (0.8%) on +1
EastEnders - 7.19m (31.5%), 327k (2.4%) at 10.30pm on BBC3
Emmerdale - 6.82m (32.9%)
Hollyoaks - 1.1m (5.5%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4, 850k (4.1%) at 7pm and 166k (0.7%) on +1 on E4
Neighbours 666k - (9.5%) at 1.45pm and 780k (4.9%) at 5.30pm on Channel 5
Home and Away - 280k (4.0%) at 1.15pm and 537k (2.9%) at 6pm on Channel 5
Doctors - 1.58m (22.6%).

EastEnders needs to do something big to get that audience back for Christmas. They're struggling.

Eastenders up a bit on last Monday, but god knows why. The quality is slipping so dramatically again. The farce with Nick Cotton is just embarrassing and the show seems to be misfiring again.

Good for EastEnders to back above 7 Million. Didn't expect it to reach 7 Million after last weeks ratings. Cant have been too much down year on year. Hopefully it will rise from here( It was in 6. a week before Christmas last year so even if it rises half a million before then it will increase on Christmas day.)
Corrie very stable between the two through I don't know if these have been tape checked or not.

For the first time in ages EastEnders feels like it has gone backwards in quality. It should still be higher than this in November on a Monday night. When Corrie gets a big storyline you see a boost, when EastEnders does it doesn't budge. Only the Lucy murder week did and I think they dropped the ball with that one. Might have been better stating it in August.

I heard a rumour Lucy was supposed to be killed in either July or September but was forward to boost ratings on bosses orders.

I can't see that being true as the stories would needed to have been rushed and just wouldn't have fitted in. It doesn't seem like that so that probably is just a typical rumour.

Really because the big wedding week or what ever it was didn't seem to get much of a boost. That's really how Corri should be rating anyway.

I'm not sure the audience can take much more of characters revealing ''dark secrets'' - we had another one last night on EE.

That's an EastEnders character trait. You cannot have a return without a 'dark secret'.

I don't believe that either from a logistics standpoint of getting scripts ready. A part of me thinks it should have been pushed at the August Bank Holiday bro takeover Autumn, lead*to Christmas then the anniversary.

If EastEnders was getting around 7.5m I'd be happier but just over 7m is poor

Everybody has a bloody BIG secret now! It's getting ridiculous.

I did say last week that I thought the Nick return was a mistake but having said that last nights ratings is pretty good.

Those figures for Corrie are undeserved. How 8m people are still finding anything interesting on Corrie is beyond me.

What's it year on year for overnights. I can find the officials saying 8.30 which it wont be far off when time-shift is added and may technically have more viewers with an increase in Iplayer viewers.
Hopefully every Monday between now and Christmas will reach 7 Million or more and the ratings will grow slowly but steadily.
Corrie could be up year on year!!! as it only got 8.7 and 8.5 in the officials last year.

Micky Flanagan's Sky1 show held up really well. See above article for more details.

Let's keep out fingers crossed that 60 Minute Makeover sinks to new lows in daytime. Its a awful programme with a poor choice of host. Peter Andre should not be on the main ITV channel. Confine him to ITV Be.

I haven't seen last nights yet, nor have I seen Friday's yet. I am finding it difficult in wanting to catch up, the show just seems to be 'off'

it seems that every character has to have a secret. What has happened to just good old fashioned soap drama which didnt involve secrets or love triangles. It is almost as though the writers have a limited experience with character introduction or re-introduction. I am sure some of the people who post on the soap forum (excluding the mad as hatters ones) could actually throw some decent scripts together.

So you would be happy at 7.5m but 7.19m is poor? Anything under 7m is poor IMO.

Soaps last year excl +1

Coronation Street: 9.08m (39.3%)
Coronation Street: 8.65m (34.3%)
Eastenders: 7.26m (30.3%)
Emmerdale: 7.04m (33.0%)
Hollyoaks: 1.27m (6.2%) / E4: 810k (3.8%)

All soaps down YOY, EastEnders by only 70k, Corrie between 400k-900k, Emmerdale 210k.
