Even if they moved filming to Scotland they could still have pretended it was still Rochdale, just make sure there are no blokes in kilts walking past in the back of shot

The episode where Sambuca Kelly died got over 6 million viewers according to Wikipedia, and it regularly got over 5m.

Goes down as being the oddest drama show ever. Its the strangest of shows, I'd like to know who tunes in every week? Kids? Its like the bric a brac shop window of television its such a bad assortment of clash and clutter.

Points of view used to be a BBC Birmingham production and now even more strangely is BBC Northern Ireland but is always filmed in London.

I'd like to see them stop moving some of the Tuesday and Thursday repeats to 1.15/1.30/2.30am, and I'd like them to stop dropping some of the Friday repeats.

BIB: EXACTLY!!!! My thoughts exactly. Don't people have imaginations anymore? Tenko was set in a Japanese POW camp on some south sea island. But viewers didn't ever think "Oh my god, this show is rubbish as it's filmed in Dorset!" Who would have known that Waterloo Road was no longer in Rochdale if they hadn't made such a big thing about it?

I still have it on in the background, but only because I've watched in from the start when it used to be half decent with good characters and actors, and one of thesedays something major may happen that defines the history of the show that I wouldn't want to miss.

And it's on the BBC as well, imagine that

Can you even attempt to imagine what it must feel like to lose a sibling when you're thousands of miles away and can't be there with your family quickly? Yes, poor man. He must going through a state of sheer hell.

Ah right Andy sorry I didn't realise you were a follower. I take it that it was a decent offering in the beginning. Its always on before "The Apprentice" just seems really odd kinda programme particularly the "Next Week" trailers!!

They'll have noted that Surprise, Surprise couldn't get 4m against it last week in one of the easiest slots possible (and a traditional one for ITV LE, albeit lapsed in recent years). I wonder if that will be seen as curtains for it - or whether they'll put it back on Sundays against Strictly.

But no comedy or light entertainment. As much as I feel that drama is important, it just suggests that the same old, same as schedules will continue for the foreseeable future with just a new 'drama' being chucked into the schedule at 9pm.

I would like to see a whole range of programming announced.

It used to focus on real school issues. But then they started killing off the regular cast and it became hard to identify with it as the same show.

True but they have success with drama, whereas LE....well less said the better.

The list for BBC1 is just getting longer. ITV have very little drama commissions and when they do come along, they flop: The Great Fire, Chasing Shadows or are just dull Grantchester.

What a horrible thing have happen, and when you thousands of miles away. So unfortunate.

On the good side it should ensure that amongst those titles there should be some drama that is of good quality. I think there was a time when BBC one struggled with drama too. And there are only a couple of titles on BBC one that have been any good this year.

I love the inverted commas for 'drama'. To be fair, this evening's BBC event was about drama.

Lots and lots of drama there to sit alongside returners and those already announced, one thing the BBC does very well is a raft of original, returning British drama and attracts a lot of Talent- Will be interesting to see ITV try to compete now (if they do) The one I think will do very well out of that lot is the one that caused the least fuss- The A Word, which has the right subject matter to really appeal if done correctly

Reading between the lines over the last two or three months, I can't help wondering if she might be worried about taking on the Generation Game as the moment edges nearer. I don't know if I believe all this stuff about it having a different title, and only using elements of the format.

The format was bog simple: four games, then a final. You either do the Gen Game or you don't. Charlotte Moore obviously had plans for it to be 100% Generation Game.

If Hart no longer believes she could carry it off, it'd be better to withdraw altogether, and let someone else have a go.

It's got a good writer behind it too, Peter Bowker who wrote the wonderful Marvellous. I think if it's done right it could be a good replacement for Last Tango in Halifax, a warm-hearted family-based drama that makes you laugh but also packs an emotional punch. The name might have to change though if it airs next year as there's Sheridan Smith's one-off drama The C Word as well, but then they had Our Girl and Our Zoo airing at the same time so it might not bother them.

He's writing another drama for BBC One as well, based on John Lanchester's novel Capital, which was announced a few months ago.

I don't think anyone else could make it work now, because Sugar has done it for so long. If Sugar has said he wants to do another series, he will do another series. He wouldn't say it if he had no intention of doing it.

I think Exposure will end up rating no better at 9pm than it does at 10.40pm. Will probably rate worse than Panorama too.

The key to a successful ITV schedule is to give the ITV audience what they want, not what Peter Fincham thinks they should want.

Too many of his decisions seem to be the things he wanted to do at BBC One before his premature ejection.

Will be no surprise if the first 9pm Exposure will be presented by the Paedofinder General, having another pop at the BBC.

EastEnders will do alright on the big day and even if it is low by past standards the ITV competition will be lower still.

In context of how everything else did I don't think EE did get a poor figure last Xmas. The top rated show of the day only got 9.4m so 7.8m by comparison doesn't seem that bad. It beat DA which had 6.6m. And that was in the early stages of EastEnders' recovery.

Splitting EastEnders would be better for it. It's never going to get massive figures again at Xmas while it clashes with DA.

And a dire performance made it worse. I don't think I've ever seen a worse drama performance than Simm as The Master.
