Thanks D.M.N.

The One Show posts a big increase due to facing half or less than half of Emmerdale.

Bit disappointing for EE, back to 30% share, maybe it was dented by the football more than I thought.

The One Show probably got a boost from Emmerdale finishing only ten minutes into it. Hoping for more for EastEnders but it was up against the England match, hopefully it bounces back tonight.

The 8-piece boyband amassed 50,000 followers in 2 days; Only The Young have over 70k and Jake Quickenden has 200,000. One of the wildcards also has 200,000 followers; another has over 50,000.

Seems to be a lot of grassroots support for the live show acts. It will all depend on how good the show is tomorrow, it's quite long after all but if it's really well received and impresses on catch up, tides could turn in the ratings war from next week onwards...”

No i don't think so.
50,000 followers won't make any difference.
Jake Quickendens followers can be atrributed to him building them up over the last 2 years, which contrary to popular belief hasn't seen him just quietly return home but in fact build up quite a decent modelling and presenting career.

We'll see ... I don't pretend to know either way, I was just saying. And I don't care that much if it flops, soars or stays flat really.

Take another look at the table. It's slightly difficult to get your head around, but the older age groups were most likely of the demos to watch Bake Off, as a % of all members of the demo, watching TV or not (TVR), but it got lower shares in the older adult demos because they watch so much TV.

Shame for EE but football or clash nights always throw up this sort of thing. ED figure probably wont be pretty either.

Probably the reason for the boost. TOS is a default show when there is nothing better on

Another reason for the One Show doing better will be the fact it's now dark at 7pm.

An embarrassingly low rating for an embarrassingly awful show.

Sometimes, I really do despair at some of the commissioning decisions by the BBC.

It will rise back up tonight with the cliffhanger. I think it will either be very close to 6m or over.

Tbh when there is football and ITV move forward Emmerdale 15minutes, instead they should protect it more and just schedule the News for longer running from 6pm -7:15pm.

Commissioned on the same day as Tumble. Just think about that.

EastEnders topped the soap ratings on Thursday evening (October 9) as Linda Carter's dark storyline continued, overnight figures show.

Airing against ITV's coverage of the England vs. San Marino game, EastEnders managed 6.35m (30.1%) at 7.30pm on BBC One as Dean's attempts to carry on as normal after the rape left Linda frightened and unsettled. BBC Three's repeat screening secured 379k (2.8%) at 10.30pm

Emmerdale suffered an audience dip due to its early start, bringing in just 4.92m (26.0%) at 6.45pm on ITV and 374k (1.7%) on +1 as Declan returned with revenge in mind on the day of Robbie's funeral.

Hollyoaks interested 992k (5.4%) at 6.30pm on Channel 4 as the hospital siege continued, while E4's first look continued to perform well with 905k (4.8%) at 7pm and 247k (1.2%) on +1.

Neighbours grabbed 620k (9.1%) at 1.45pm and 760k (5.5%) at 5.30pm on Channel 5 as Lauren refused to lie to the police for Terese and Josh.

Home and Away entertained 287k (4.3%) at 1.15pm, 564k (3.5%) at 6pm and 335k (1.8%) with 5*'s first look at 6.30pm.

Elsewhere, Doctors continued with 1.41m (20.8%) at 1.45pm on BBC One.

ITV throwing ED under a bus whilst one of its biggest storylines of the year is playing out. No promotion of the changed start time. The football seems low but I'd be interested to see the match average.

I don't understand why they moved it. The match didn't start until after 7.30pm. I don't watch soaps but it has a loyal following and should not be moved to an earlier slot.

They must have been having a really bad week .....

"Your House ...." should really be removed from the schedules as it has no place on the BBC. Truly awful, its ratings don't even begin to justify its place on peaktime BBC one, and its presence does the BBC no credit at all. In fact, it might galvanise opinion against it.

I think they have an agreement with The FA to give England matches 30 minutes of build-up. The FA were unhappy with the BBC when they had the rights as they often came on air 5 minutes before kick-off. It is pointless though. I'd rather ED be dropped altogether than moved without promotion. ITV really treat it poorly compared to Corrie.

I wonder if it'll keep the same slot. They could be doing so much better at that time of year certainly.
