Victoria Wood was executive producer on Eric & Ernie that was one of her most successful Christmas dramas. That Day We Sang had positive reviews after the screening. Might be a dark horse for a big rating over Christmas.

Definitely. Especially with a convenient ad break which is bound to occur at 7:30pm for viewers to switch to BBC One. ITV have far more to lose than BBC if Still Open All Hours was scheduled at 7:30pm on Boxing Day.

Oops. The 2007 showing was the first one on the website so I just assumed that was the premiere, thought it was bit low as I remembered it doing better than that, not quite that much better though. Avengers certainly won't be getting anywhere near that.Also thanks for reminding me of Jam & Jerusalem, shame that never did particularly well, although it was never as good as it could have been.

The Apprentice might be better on Tuesday 8-10pm instead of Holby and The Royle Family repeat. Then shift Holby City to Monday at 9pm and John Bishop to Christmas Eve. Then on Sunday, Antiques Roadshow as normal and maybe the start of Last Tango In Halifax a week early. Two hours of The Apprentice is too much for Christmas Eve primetime - unless You're Hired aired on BBC Two.

It was filmed in June and July 2013.
That it has taken over 18 months to make it to air (so far) speaks volumes. Lest we forget this time last year some of us on here were pondering that it must have been held back for a Christmas 2013 launch instead of airing in the autumn. We're now looking at BBC1 transmission in probably March 2015.
What on earth has taken so long?!
BBC1 should air Crimewatch on Monday 22nd, or even a New Tricks repeat, and move John Bishop to Christmas Eve 9.30 in order to avoid a prime time Dibley repeat.
Its disgraceful when BBC1 has such a promising line up this year.
It's why i don't bother producing a schedule. I can do so much better than the BBC cretins. We know from their dire recent schedules that they probably do think a 10 year old Dibley is acceptable. It's not.
The last ones got 2.9m and 3m. Derisory numbers not deserving of a prime slot.
Its disgraceful when BBC1 has such a promising line up this year.

I answered this question before the SCD final is on Saturday 20th at 6.50 and against an old HP film so will do very well in the ratings maybe 11 to 12 million and it has a live results show which should peak well. It's only competition is work staff Christmas parties!

They're not actually repeating Dibley in a prime time slot though Robbie. 10.15pm is post prime time but I disagree that they've messed up this year. There seems to be something new on every single day during Christmas. That is a rarity. Whatever we think about the schedule (and it is still provisional), it is at least Christmassey.
I do concede though that it is surprising to see a repeat at 10.10pm. I can understand a repeat at 11pm but perhaps showing two repeats in a row is a bit unusual. I would have done this:

Yeah that's the only one I can really think of. I do love her work but the last two comedy specials were such a let down it made me completely unsure of her comedy touch. I wish the BBC could persuade her to write another "dinnerladies" but she has said her ambitions of writing a sitcom have been fulfilled. Wishing more comedies would come through on BBC one.
My friend met Ken Stott "Ian Garrett" in BBC one "The Missing" yesterday, and said what a charming man he was and said he felt the character he played "was vile"!!

I do agree with that. They could put DIY SOS or Traffic Cops on Monday 22nd at 9 too. If they don't want to move John Bishop, then move Would I Lie to You? to Christmas Eve at 10.15. That programme deserves a better slot IMO, even if it's ratings aren't exceptional. I think it would get 4m+ in that Xmas Eve slot.

Well we obviously dont know why its taken so long but Shane Allen previously replied to Hassan a few months ago and at that time he stated that the program 'was not yet in the building' so it has clearly taken a long time. I believe he also said it was worth waiting for - but he would say that wouldnt he?

As far as I'm concerned prime time on Christmas Eve runs past 11pm. Shows airing up to and past 11 have got big primetime audiences in that slot. To air two repeats 10.15 to 11.30 is a disgrace.

That's why I think Call the Midwife should be on Christmas Eve (yes another moan about it being on Christmas Day).
