If you were a kid in 1981 you'd have loved that, from teatime to after eight o'clock it'd have been all your favourite people and programmes. That episode of Top of the Pops is fantastic, I can't wait until BBC4 show it in two years' time.

Was that edition of TOTP really live?

I see a debate was sought in Parliament yesterday regarding the urgent business of the repeats on the BBC this xmas. It was refused.

I agree it is silly to tot up sign zone and BBC2 daytime filler but it's absolutely right to be hauling the Beeb over the coals for primetime repeats on BBC1. At Christmas it is particularly unacceptable.

Danny Cohen has intervened too and in a twitter spat with a Mirror hack accused the press of shoddy journalism. What about your shoddy scheduling, Danny?

Skyfall will probably get around 4.5 million on Christmas Eve, but a 7 day timeshift will push it higher. I can't see a film lasting that long bringing in the viewers on Christmas Eve, it is the wrong day for it - well for the ratings game, that is my reasoning haha

Non of The Fall's Viewers taking any notice of The Daily Mail's TV critic then, he hates it and gave it no stars in his review of last nights ep.

Does any sane being ever take any notice of what those right-wing hate-tabloids preach?

What do think makes What's On TV magazine think for their front a cover a picture of Kat & Alfie will make for a nice Christmas cover? Its the 3rd even 4th year in a row they've been the front cover, which is just baffling.

Something like MBB, or DA or even a christmas image would be better.

I think Skyfall will get around 5m (I hope for more though, if only toi encourage ITV to aquire more film premieres). Most viewers (of the older generation) I can't see wanting to watch this on Xmas Eve, although it is against EE and (Skyfall) )might be preffered choice between those two.

What do you think?

EE is always on the front of What's on TV, even when Corrie was riding high way above EE last year, they barely got a look in.

It's always those two because Alfie is a cuddly festive character, if you put hard man Danny Dyer on the front, sales would go down!

Have you read the article?

Has the MP considered his decisions have led to what he is complaining about and his argument is like saying he's paid to see a film once at the cinema and shouldn't have to pay to see it again....what a plank.

The Mirror article is a repeat itself from 2013 and previously in 2011.

I can't see a huge jump for the soaps over Christmas when they will be out of their regular slits and have increased competition. Very depressing for EastEnders as the BBC let this fall happen.

Very Low for EastEnders. Such a shame as it was a very good episode. Decent share through and the BBC3 repeat is staying steady. It needs it's Christmas trailer now and that needs to be shown heavily to help it's ratings build pre-Christmas. I cant work out why the figures are dropping at this time of year night on night.
I think it's slightly down week on week as well which Is very disappointing. The figures last spring were higher. Anyone think the New set build is going to be axed as the BBC will be concerned over both EastEnders and the BBC's long term future? I hope the BBC don't panic and sack DTC because the quality will likely go down and ratings will fall further.

I'm sorry but The BBC got a crappy licence fee deal, they essentially have less money and now they have to still produce new content for 365 days of the year!

What we need is a good couple of days of snow to get people sat in front of their TV's again. Without this, even big returning shows are going to struggle come the new year. The shares seem ok, but something is amiss. Has there been a mass exodus of barb viewers over the past year ?

Does anyone know how much EastEnders and Emmerdale were down year on year last night.

EastEnders -0.46m

Emmerdale was an hour long episode on that night last year instead of 2x30, but is down over a million.

Ouch for Both. For EastEnders to be down despite no clash is very disappointing and quite concerning. Emmerdale down over a million through with no clash is even worse through. That's took a massive drop recently.
I wonder how Low Eastenders will go on Monday up against the Royal Varity and up against Text Santa. Could be below 5 million on Both nights.
