Does anybody know how well the Boxing did on October 25 (Channel 5)?
Yes, it performed poorly. Only 544k excluding the +1 channel, AFAIK the lowest ratings for Boxing on Five yet.

They are sticking with it though in the belief that the right fight will attract a decent audience. There was supposed to be a FTA card on the channel tomorrow night but the fight got called off so they are running Rocky Balboa instead.

Next up will be the Golovkin v Murray fight in February, the press conference for which was yesterday and attracted the interest of the UK media:

What do think makes What's On TV magazine think for their front a cover a picture of Kat & Alfie will make for a nice Christmas cover? Its the 3rd even 4th year in a row they've been the front cover, which is just baffling.

Something like MBB, or DA or even a christmas image would be better.
Or even Mick and Linda from EastEnders considering their the main Christmas Storyline in EastEnders.
EE is always on the front of What's on TV, even when Corrie was riding high way above EE last year, they barely got a look in.

It's always those two because Alfie is a cuddly festive character, if you put hard man Danny Dyer on the front, sales would go down!
The WOTV front covers are ridiculously repetitive - as said EE is on the cover 9 times out of 10 irrespective of how Coronation St. is doing, and when Lucy was in the show a few years back she was on the cover almost every other week!

It's a shame because it's overall a pretty good guide for it's money (54p), but they need to put Coronation St. on, or how about Strictly or IAC - programmes that still skew female in line with what I would imagine would be their main readership.

Looking at all the new BBC1 drama coming up it's even more surprising that the Xmas schedule is repeat strewn.

A game is being played, I tell thee!

Yeah because they're not showing much drama at all..

Mapp and Lucia x3
Last Tango in Halifax
The Musketeers
The boy in the dress
Esio trot
Professor
Call the Midwife
Doctor Who
They're even showing Drama on New Year's Eve! When its usually a terrible film or a repeat.

You seem to have a bad memory are you forgetting 2011 when the Friday night after Christmas included the best of the one show and a New Tricks repeat. 2012 where we had Vicar of Dibley repeats on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day or last year when we had an outnumbered repeat on Christmas Eve and a Len Goodman clip show on Boxing day. This year on Christmas Day 10.00 to 11.40 is all new, last year it was a Michael McIntyre dvd.

What do u lot expect? Emmerdale has the wedding, EE finally building up nicely to the Lucy reveal, Coronation street.... umm I'll get back to you on that.........

It's getting rather tedious, no matter whenever I look on this thread it's always the same old poster (not you!) who claims he hates EE but damn sure talks about it a lot - obsessed is the word but anyone dare criticise an ITV show.... pfft

Pretty certain Robbie is referencing politics - i.e. it makes perfect sense for BBC to be full of drama/original from say February/March onwards wherever possible so that they can use that fact in licence fee arguments during and after the election.

Foyle's War is going out in January and they've already said it will be the last series
They say Foyles War is probably almost most definitely the last series every series right up to the moment they commission another series.

And they admitted that was a mistake. Apparently several of the actors don't want to do any more but then you never know....Wasn't Lewis supposed to be ending two years ago because Kevin Whateley said he didn't want to do any more but it still came back.

I'm a Celebrity: 7.80m (35.0%) inc +1
* peak: 8.50m (41.1%) at 22:15 - inc +1
Gogglebox: 1.98m (8.5%) excl +1
Match of the Day Live: 1.49m (6.8%)

I'm a Celebrity still thrashing the slot averages obviously, but fair to say that it has lost a lot of steam since Monday.

Is it too late to put a Ronnies Sketchbook on at 9.30 xmas eve instead of NGO? Might help BBC1 hold up better....

I think they run a set budget for each day and it's too rigid, so yes lots of good shows but you can't show them all at Christmas but must spread them out over all channels over the year.

I got my Christmas a Radio Times this morning and it doesn't look too bad in fact often there are two good shows clashing Top Gear and Bruce for example, some good films on BBC2, BBC1 has many classic animations, 101 Dalmatians and Cinderella .

Weakest night is Christmas Eve post 10pm.

Considering it's Thursday figure I don't think that's too bad for I'm A Celebrity. I expected it to drop but it held steady. Obviously it has lost steam.

EE yesterday 6.35 (32.2%)

Seems an awful big drop in share for a relatively small drop in viewer numbers?

Share is usually lower at 8 than 7.30
Eastenders up week on week through and how much is it down year on year.
There was sport on last night which may have increased the total tv viewing figures.
What repeats are the BBC showing in the 9pm slot over christmas. Most of those dramas are not really suitable for Christmas anyway.

They showed every episode of Raspberry Blower during the Sketchbook series. The greatest serial The Two Ronnies ever did. And the graveyard confrontation in episode 7 is still bloody scary!
