The Ark will probably air at Easter unless it's saved for Next Christmas.

It sounds like Corrie is on top form... Quote:
Coronation Street was Friday's most-watched soap (December 5) as the Websters' sofa saga continued, overnight figures show. Is this the best they can come up with in the run up to Christmas? No wonder soaps are struggling!
6.95m (35.1%) tuned in at 7.30pm on ITV as the estranged wife of the sofa seller tried to get the expensive item back from Kevin, while 6.78m (31.0%) returned at 8.30pm and 110k (0.5%) on +1 as Kevin found himself entangled in a web of lies over the situation. |

Ouch for Corrie last night. Very poor for the second episode in particular. Well they do serve the fall if a filler plot is the main storyline of the night.
It through does prove quality and ratings are not in line as Eastenders has been much better for many weeks than the corrsponding corrie episode on the same night yet always rates at least half a million less. |

Thanks for the additions. I somehow thought The Ark had already been shown and had never heard of Taboo.
The only reference I can find for the BBC2 show is the link below, although there is nothing on BBC media. http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/tv/news/...oXEWEBup5yLKaA So additions to BBC1 Drama list The Ark (1x90) - David Threlfall in retelling of biblical story - filmed April 2014 Taboo (8x60) - Tom Hardy in period adventurer drama - announced April 2014 Danny and the Human Zoo (1x90) - Fictionalised account of Lenny Henry's teenage years - announced Feb 2014 Laurel and Hardy (1x90) - biopic written by Jeff Pope - announced Dec 2013 Banished by Jimmy mcgovern 7x60 |

Has the decline of EastEnders not taught ITV anything? Coronation Street lurches from one awful figure to the next and yet nothing is seemingly being tried to halt the slide. Emmerdale's shares are just about holding on to respectability for the most part (relatively speaking) but Coronation Street is in a very bad place.

Or the fact that it was just a rubbish episode
![]() Either way, that's easily explainable and I think the show's ok as long as it doesn't dip below 30% in the 7pm slot. |

Neighbours Season Finale
652k (9.3%) at 1.45pm + 850k (5.5%) at 5.30pm. I have to say, not much evidence of it in the figures. 1.5m total is about average for the past 12 months. Lunchtime still doing well but not as well as it was a few months ago and ideally it would be over a million at teatime. It could take ages to recover from a break as long as this one as well. |

That is bad for Coronation Street isn't it. Sub 7m for a December nights show.

The second episode was actually marginally up year-on-year in terms of audience share and only slightly down in terms of viewers, however the first was markedly down. |

Question for Dancc: I know it's a bit premature, but with Gotham's midseason finale airing on 5 in a couple of weeks, do you have any idea when it will return post Christmas? Around February time? Thanks in advance

DS believes Neighbours has returned to form. Good article from the soaps editor yesterday detailing why.

Lunchtime still doing well but not as well as it was a few months ago and ideally it would be over a million at teatime. It could take ages to recover from a break as long as this one as well. it seems as though the producers are catering more and more for the UK audience, timing the 'cliffhangers' to coincide with the UK episodes taking a break for Christmas etc no surprise as the show is now on a digital channel in Aus, so badly needs the UK rights money. |

Seems harsh to single out Corrie as I don't think many shows came out of last night well when looking year-on-year.

But I think they will want to bring it back as soon as they can so that towards the end of the run we are very close to US transmission. And the timing should be right with the extended CBB for it to return almost immediately after that finishes. |

Is it too late to put a Ronnies Sketchbook on at 9.30 xmas eve instead of NGO? Might help BBC1 hold up better....

Looking at all the new BBC1 drama coming up it's even more surprising that the Xmas schedule is repeat strewn.

i think corrie is singled out, partly because it has had the biggest drop of the big 3 year on year.
